Sam and Oz in the pocket universe of Mystery Spot. Good, in-depth look at Oz, and a sharp read of crazy-Mystery Spot!Sam from Oz's POV, plus a sweet Oz/OFC romance.
“If this is out of pity or…or something…” It hurts him to say those words, she knows. Despite everything, he still has his pride. He needs comfort like everyone else—like she does—but he’ll never admit it. / Walking over to him, she snakes her hands beneath his flannel shirt and rests them on his hips, the body-warmed fabric brushing over her skin. He’s tense beneath her hands and she leans in, pressing her nose to his chest. “It’s not pity, Dean,” she says, her lips brushing against his t-shirt. / She really wants him to touch her. Fantastic, achy post 5.02 Dean/Ellen, hot and shot through with heartache and hope.
Dean learned card tricks to make him laugh, practicing in the passenger seat while Dad drove through the night, with cards that were worn and dirty at the edges. When they were younger, playing Texas Hold 'Em on cheap motel room bedspreads, Dean never let Sam win. Except for all the times he did. Sometimes, when Dean dreams, it's about the sound of socked-feet sliding over slick blankets, and piles of nickels and dimes falling down. Sometimes it's beer bottles crashing together. And sometimes, it's Sam laughing, his hand wrapped around the back of Dean's neck, thumb tucked up under Dean's ear like it's telling him a secret. Lovely, evocative first kiss for Sam and Dean.
How Ianto Jones Quits His Job and Decides to Take Over the World (Without the Help of a Kangaroo Army) by
“You know, it’s not a secret organization if you have your name and the name of your organization actually in the e-mail.” A few days later Hardison gets the following e-mail from i.jones@supersecrethushhushorganization.com: Maybe that’s all part of our plan. Hardison replies with: Don’t even try. I looked. There’s nothing there. All you guys do is kill aliens and send filthy e-mails to each other. I have never watched Torchwood, but the combined AWESOME of DEAN and HARDISON is too much to resist. (There is past Dean/Castiel, which squicks me hard, but it's not enough to really be bothersome.) Dean/Hardison/Ianto and hilarity, in various combinations.
*sniffle* Sam and Dean get trapped in a fairy glamour with their younger selves, and it reminds them of who they used to be and maybe how they can repair their relationship. Oh, boys...
"Fucking your brother, Dean?" says Zachariah. He's dreaming--he knows he's dreaming. "That's a new low." / "Well, at least I'm not eating shellfish. I hear your boss hates that." Perfect coda to 5.04. (wincest, obviously)
Lovely snippet of post 5.02 Dean/Ellen. When she straightens and turns, he's right there, and the space he takes up is large and warm and decidedly, unmistakably male. “Sit with me. Have a pull on the bottle.” She freezes at the sound of his voice, low and unmistakable. She's been around the block a time or two, after all. It's just … well, it's been awhile since she heard a man sound like that around her.

It's hard to believe now, but Bruce Springsteen almost didn't reach stardom. He had a nice local following in New Jersey and, for some reason, pockets...
“Fuck mankind!” / “And womenkind,” Sam says, waggles a finger, trying to be fair and non gender-specific. “Fuck womenkind, too.” / Dean cuffs him on the back of the head. “What, I teach you nothin’, Sam? You can fuck mankind – but you gotta make love to womenkind. Show the ladies some respec’, huh?” Sam and Dean get their drink on after they save the world. Adorable. *happy sigh*
A really enjoyable SPN/Criminal Minds crossover - the writing is a little clunky, and it doesn't take into account the state of Sam and Dean's relationship in early season 5, but the outsider POV on Sam and Dean, plus the interaction between the BAU team and the Winchesters, is a lot of fun.
The world is still so far from perfect, but there are other things you care about now, things you should have paid more attention to all along. Somebody still has to change the world. But you don't have to do it all, and you don't have to do it alone. Wonderful look at Hermione over the years, after the war.
