That Time with the Dobermans (and the Hole in the Wall) by
Adorable, hilarious story in which Pepper gets kidnapped and Tony saves her, even though she doesn't actually need saving by that point. Hee! “Did you see how I burst through the wall, there?” / “Uh-huh.” / “Okay. Just saying. I burst through the wall.” / “Yes, Tony. You burst through the wall. Thank you.”
concernedlily: SPN fic: Three Times Sam and Dean Went to Church
"Think of all the stuff we can do when you can walk like a big boy." Sammy looks like he might be thinking about it, so Dean adds, "No more stroller." Sammy doesn't like the stroller, he hates being strapped in, and Dad doesn't like pushing the stroller either so usually he just carries Sammy, then puts him down and stretches his back out and says getting heavy, kiddo, gonna have to stop feeding you. Lovely look at Sam over the years, as a toddler, as a young boy, and as a teenager.
"God, you're like the annoying little brother I never wanted." / "That's very touching. Do you want to hug now, or after I get a date?" / "After. A lot after. Like. Never, maybe." / "You know, I think you're just repressed. In your feeling places." / "Do you want me to leave?" / "No. No. I want you to help me." / "Okay, good. So let's stop talking about my feeling places, okay?" / "No feelings. Got it." Adorable ficlet in which Hardison asks Eliot to suss out Parker's feelings for him. Hee!
"In fact, you are so Lassie-like at times that I've often considered trying that out as a nickname." / Tim shook his head. "It would be too confusing." / "Confusing?" / "Lassie would tell people that Timmy fell down the well." / "And?" / "Well it'd be weird if Tim told people that Timmy fell down the well." / "You're not getting it. We wouldn't be calling you Tim, we'd be calling you Lassie." / "Plus there aren't many wells left in Baltimore," said Tim. / "True." Perfect slice of season 4 Frankentim, with some bonus Mikey and Meldrick thrown in.
They sit in MacDonald's and he tries to explain the plot of a show called Battlestar Galactica and she tells him how to break into a car with a coat hanger. Absolutely adorable coda to 1.06, featuring Hardison awkwardly attempting to woo Parker.
"You're pretty drunk already, aren't you?" / "Wine by the mugload and the very real fact that this afternoon we decided to head to Natalie and Jeremy's place on Sunday and somehow finagle the conversation around to a place where, 'Oh, and by the way, we're doin' it' won't be a jarring and upsetting non-sequitor? Casey, this is nowhere near as drunk as I'm planning on getting." Absolutely adorable Dan/Casey futurefic.
Barry the money launderer calls in a favor from Michael. Reads just like an episode, with lots of fun banter. "Focus. We get in, we get Naomi, we get out." / "Well, when you say it like that, I should have time after we get back to fit in a nail appointment before dinner," Fiona mocked. / "If it goes that smoothly?" Michael said. "I'll pay for the nails and the dinner."
This sounds just like an episode, and does an amazing job of capturing Ned, Chuck, and Olive. Wonderful. (could use another beta pass) "I say don't touch the enormous firey balls of gas as you'll get horribly burned and have to spend the rest of your life nursing your wounds from behind giant bandages. Space is void and vacuum, a whole lot of nothing but emptiness and solitude that gets you nowhere but Planet Disillusionment orbited by a moon of sadness." Ned's outburst was sudden but quiet.
Tracy made a glorious bride. She glowed, her happiness too great to be contained within the boundaries of her body. It broke from her, spreading like sunshine, until it touched every guest. They got drunk from it, like they were drinking the finest champagne. Of course, many of them were. But Mike was convinced everybody would be a little tipsy, even without the benefit of alcohol. After the wedding, Mike goes swimming with the bride and groom. Lovely, with wonderfully in character narration.
Scout is all grown up, with children of her own, and her son wants to join the march in Selma. Even though I knew where this was going, it still hit me like a freight train, and I cried through the whole latter part of it. Beautifully true to Scout and what Atticus taught her. *sniffle*
Awesome SPN/FNL crossover where John raises the boys in Dillon while he hunts, and Dean is QB1 of the Dillon Panthers. I really like how she reworks the SPN mythos to fit into this verse, and all the familiar touches of Dillon, as well, including Coach Taylor being awesome, Billy Riggins being a jackass, and a lovely cameo by Mama Smash at the end. ♥
