They can't have anything but the life, if they want to live it. It wasn't meant to last - because hunters can't have anything. Sharp, heartbreaking Sam/Jo set during Mystery Spot.
The documentary films its reunion special five years, four months, and six days after its initial run. Five years later, where are they now? Spot on, funny and heartbreaking. I love the way the observer effect plays out, the changes that occur beca

Really excellent look at what Alec is willing to do for Max, and vice versa, with some nice extrapolation from Freak Nation about the state of the post-pulse world.
Little girl lost, Alec thinks, and how can she think she’s different than the rest of them? They’re all broken; they all have faultlines beneath their skin. heartbreaking and true Max/Alec
I generally don't like stories where they settle down and stop hunting, but I like this one, where Dean's got an injury that keeps them out of the game, and they live a quiet life down in Mexico. (wincest)
Tyra goes to college, and then comes home to deal with her family. This story is bittersweet and full of hope and the tension between leaving and staying. Lovely.
Maybe You Just Missed the Sun by impertinence (PG-13)
Fantastic look at Alec and Max and how they learned to be who they are. The last lesson Manticore ever taught him was that we all are who we pretend to be.
Normal isn't as easy as Sam thinks. I love Sam-hunts-at-Stanford stories, and this is a good one. I especially like the real, lived-in nature of his relationship with Jess, and the push-pull of his relationship with Dean always in the background. Lovely.

Five Times Alec Didn't Get Busy by soundingsea (PG)
Alec's history is written in the curve of Max's bicep, the scent of her hair, the straight lines of her barcode. He nuzzles it and tastes home. Lovely. I especially like the Max and Joshua sections.
