She wanted to sort out the tangle of feelings and turn them into something comforting and true. That Rory might veer toward suckiness sometimes, but it was literally impossible for her to be worthless. That she glowed with some constant, inexplicable magic, like Claire Danes in the movie about the star. When her husband decided he was going to be a creative writer, Paris’s heart had no trouble switching right off, but when Rory decided to do it, Paris’s heart was nothing but all in, ready to fight the world to help Rory make that dream come true. Probably best not to examine that. Lovely, post YitL Paris/Rory.
MCU/LOTR fusion set after the war of the ring. it shouldn't work, but it does, with a nice Steve/Bucky relationship and some fun stuff for the others. (no thor or hulk, though)
803 - GeneralIrritation - Batman (Comics), Batman - All Media Types, DCU (Comics) [Archive of Our Own]
Epic, compelling read in which Batman hangs up the cowl after Joker is killed, only to be drawn back into crimefighting by the appearance of a scary new player in Gotham's criminal underworld. Plus, excellent Bat/Cat interaction, some fun Dick/Babs, and surprise appearances by other members of the Batfam.
Smart, thoughtful examination of Barbara Gordon during the Invasion arc of (animated) Young Justice. (some issues with word choice confusion, e.g., defunct for de facto)
Bruce is thrilled to have all five of his kids under his roof for Christmas for the first time, but he's still not quite sure how to handle Jason. Luckily, they figure it out. Oh heart.
The one where Dick and Jason (and Steph!) are undercover in prison in Bludhaven where there have been too many prisoner deaths that have gone unreported/uninvestigated.
Selina Kyle has a habit of creeping into Bruce's house through a window, and in her defense, it's never really been a problem before. But tonight, just about everything goes wrong. this is hilarious.
Peter and Nightingale are called to the Epping Forest to investigate a potential werewolf and discover a missing woman, a family shattered by grief, and a case that hits far too close to home. Melacholy case-fic. Nicely done.

Damian finds the hall where all the pictures of Bruce with his adopted kids live, and feels bad that there isn't one with him, until there is. Oh heart.
Despite the title, this is not a light fun story. Bruce finds three clones of Damian while searching for information on the Lazarus pit and he handles it in his usual emotionally constipated way.
Where Nebula and Tony build a ship to get to Earth and awkwardly talk about their issues when neither of them are particularly good at that. Tony and Nebula and the long, slow trip back to earth. Lovely and melancholy.
The one where Bruce has amnesia and is a much better dad because he doesn't remember Jason's death, but Damian is freaked out by the difference. And then Bruce finds out. I reread this story a lot (A LOT) because it is SO GOOD at showing the difference in Bruce before and after Jason's death, and giving the younger kids a glimpse of his less grim self, and also opening a way to a more thorough reconciliation with Jason in the bargain.
