the leaning grasses and two lights above the sea by [Anonymous]
“They don’t need us, after all.” “No.” “It hurts,” he said, “Loving the young.” “Yes.” Seserakh comes to visit Tenar and Ged. Luminous. Really captures the feel of Earthsea.
Calvin takes a moment to think about just how much of an influence his mother was on him, all the little things she did that he took for granted because of how young he was. Of course now that he and Susie have a family of their own he's gaining a whole new appreciation for all those small things. Calvin has learned to appreciate his parents. Oh my heart. #i'm not crying you're crying
The First Annual Defenders Secret Santa by [Anonymous ]
Jessica is adamant that they are not a team and she is not participating in the Secret Santa exchange. Except they kinda are and she definitely is. This is adorable and yet still so very in character for Jessica.
The woman leaned forward and folded her hands over her knees. “What would it take? For you to tell me about him?” A kiss, a quick tumble. Aphra had no idea what to actually say; there was nothing at all that she could think of that would entice her to speak. The truth of the matter was she was scared of that bastard and she didn’t know how in the hell to get out of the web he’d tangled up around her. And now she had this woman staring at her like she had all the answers. But Aphra had nothing. AU where Aphra is captured by Saw Gerrera's partisans and tries to flirt her way out of it while being interrogated by Padme. Really well done.
It’s always like that with Lou. It’s always been like that with her. Like an old sleight of hand trick that you’ve practiced a thousand times, that you know down to the core, that you could play in your sleep because you’ve made it your own. After while your body goes ‘oh, I know how this song goes’ and it takes over, and suddenly it’s five years after the last time you’ve tried playing the trick but you find out as soon as you do that it doesn’t matter. And it really doesn’t. Lovely post-heist Debbie/Lou.
The Good, the Bad, and the Fashionable by [Anonymous]
Bad Janet wants a makeover, and finds a way to get Good Janet to help. This does exactly what the show does - takes a simple premise and then deepens it unexpectedly. I actually felt bad for Bad Janet!
“Peter,” May said, jabbing her index finger into the center of his chest. “Liv and I are getting married. That is the end of the story.” “She is my archnemesis!” Peter said, throwing his hands up in the air. “Well,” May said, turning away from him. “That’s just something you’ll both have to work on. I’m going to go do the laundry now.” “ARCHNEMESIS,” Peter shouted at her retreating back. Ahahaha! I'm so glad this exists, because come on! We were all thinking it.
Miles has never really been one for introspection, but his sudden, involuntary retreat into camo-mode is nearly a flashing neon sign that screams “HIDING FROM MY FEARS, DON’T @ ME”. It’s a little ironic, that becoming invisible makes his insecurities so glaringly obvious. Miles, working himself up to that leap of faith.
Titles and ranks are important, he cries. Names are important. What Rey - hero of the Resistance, restorer of good in the galaxy, bringer of balance - calls herself is important. Rey is a Jedi - the Jedi - and it means something. Rey still isn’t sure, but she trusts Finn. Warm and lovely post-sequel trilogy snapshot of Rey, doing Jedi things.
Long, satisfying Steph/Cass slow burn featuring mutual oblivious pining, fake dating, AND THEY WERE ROOMMATES, plus Steph gets to yell at Bruce and you know how much I love that.
