"But I was happy doing it because the whole time I thought, ‘I bet this will make Lorelai smile.’ I can’t tell you all the stupid stuff I’ve done over the years and liked doing just because I knew you would smile at it. And I don’t want there to ever be a day when you don’t feel like smiling and it’s my fault you feel that way. So if I’m making you feel bad, you have to tell me, okay? Because then I’m letting you down, and that’s the one thing I never want to do.” “Really?” she teases, starting to smile. “The one thing?” “I’m not wild about the idea of watching Stars Hollow Elementary’s production of Godspell either,” he says dryly, “but we both know you’re going to drag me into that one.” Emily saves the day and Luke and Lorelai talk instead of being stupid. The perfect s6 fix-it. *happy sigh*
Poe has other friends, he swears. He just always ends up with Finn and Rey somehow. Poe takes a while to clue in that Rey and Finn are including him because they want him. So adorable!
So Devil's Cub is my very favorite Heyer, and possibly my favorite romance of all time, and this version of it is utterly brilliant. I am completely entranced by this version of Mary and Dominic, and their continental adventures, plus the story redeems Mary's mother and sister, as well! Absolutely amazing.
Rey dreams of falling, and of a dead man (who is probably her grandfather and who is as annoyingly cryptic as any dead Jedi mentor has ever been, sigh). Oh honey. Plus there's a couple of cameos that made me squee out loud.
She speaks slowly, hesitating at first but her voice gathering strength as old stories remember themselves to her. A saga of beasts and heroes. Bears and snakes, giants and children. Separated companions, flocks of sparrows. Jane Foster, born to science, has a touch of poetry in her soul. She leans against him, and just as seamlessly her voice blends into his. He tells her star-stories from Asgard. Wars, weapons, old warriors broken by battle and returning to the sky. Bright lords and ladies. Lovers. Monsters. Destinies. Jane breathes into his ear Not so different. Really lovely Jane/Thor.
