What’s Next In Travel: Condé Nast Traveler’s Fifth Annual Points Of View Summit Looks Toward The Future – Condé Nast Traveler https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/whats-next-in-travel-conde-nast-travelers-fifth-annual-points-of-view-summit-looks-toward-the-future-conde-nast-traveler/ Lastly, Arikoglu touted the Women Who Travel podcast, a cornerstone of the beloved multi-platform vertical Women Who Travel, which has relaunched with a brand-new format—but with the same mission as ever. “One thing I love [about the new format] is that we’re turning the mic to our listeners to to share their own personal stories,” she shared. Destinations we’re headed to There was a lot of conversation about recently reopened destinations, namely Japan, Korea, and Australia. (Although, Ashlock pointed out that no one is going to stop going to Europe or doing road trips closer to home.) But it can’t be argued that long-haul travel isn’t back in a big way, and for many of us that means Asia. Every editor expressed his or her excitement to get back to Japan. “[Japan] was going bonkers pre-Covid and it’s going to precede previous levels,” said Florio.  With all of this Japan travel excitement, Arikoglu brought up that it’s important to not overwhelm hot ticket countries, and a good way to do that is to cover (or have travel specialists suggest) places in the same destination but in a different and more far-out way, for example venturing into nature in Japan rather than sticking only to Tokyo and Kyoto. Florio chimed in to emphasize something she has termed the “next-door effect”—where a place is overwhelmed with tourism and somewhere similar nearby then becomes the next it destination—and how we can lean into it in order to avoid overtourism. How do places get on our radar? “A lot of times you can just feel it,” said Misner. She mentioned that sometimes, all it takes is one big opening by a trusted travel industry figure to steer the right infrastructure and openings, allowing people to see a place in a way that they’re comfortable. What are the biggest trends?  One major theme is that people want to travel as a force for good and to also improve themselves along the way. Solo travel, the return to the golden age of train travel, the rise in ultra-luxury cruising, and a focus First National and Indigenous travel were also big topics of conversation. All with the hope of being more social and in close contact with people as we emerge from the worst of the pandemic. How to talk about sustainability In the second panel of the day, features and franchises editor Betsy Blumenthal led a fantastic discussion on how to approach sustainability in a meaningful way for travel. Blumenthal was joined by Wesley Espinosa, interim executive director at the Center for Responsible Travel (CREST); Bill Miles, president and CEO of Hilton Head Island—Bluffton Chamber of Commerce and Visitors and Convention Bureau; Cecilia Mueni, assistant footprint director with The Safari Collection; and Jamie Sweeting, vice president for social enterprise and responsible travel at G Adventures and president of Planeterra.  The panel began with the discussion of the term sustainability itself. Within the travel industry, and across sectors, the term has undergone an evolution of sorts; what began as a buzzy idyll has slowly started to become a reality in our industry, and many others. However, Blumenthal pointed out that it’s still an umbrella term that oversees so many different aspects of travel from eco-forward hotels to accessibility. So, how do we talk about sustainability going forward? %

Adults Sleeping Less Than Five Hours A Night Linked With Multiple Chronic Diseases Bel Marra Health
Adults Sleeping Less Than Five Hours A Night Linked With Multiple Chronic Diseases Bel Marra Health
Adults Sleeping Less Than Five Hours A Night Linked With Multiple Chronic Diseases – Bel Marra Health https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/adults-sleeping-less-than-five-hours-a-night-linked-with-multiple-chronic-diseases-bel-marra-health/ Many adults in the United States only get an average of five hours of sleep a night, which according to new research, may be linked with multiple chronic diseases. This lack of sleep not only puts your health at risk, but also your quality of life. You can do many things to get more sleep, and it is essential to ensure that you get enough restorative sleep each night. Talk to your doctor if you are having trouble sleeping, as they may be able to recommend treatments or devices that can help you get more rest. You deserve to feel rested and healthy, so make sure you are getting the sleep you need! According to a new study by UCL researchers, a consistent lack of sleep can greatly affect the risk of chronic diseases. The study examined the relationship in participants between sleep duration, mortality, and whether they had been diagnosed with two or more chronic diseases such as diabetes, cancer, or heart disease over 25 years. Researchers found that participants who were over the age of 50 and got five hours of sleep or less were 20% more likely to have been diagnosed with a chronic disease. They were also 40% more likely to be diagnosed with two or more chronic diseases over 25 years than people who slept up to seven hours. It was also noted that sleeping for five hours or less over the age of 50 was linked to a 30% to 40% increased risk of multimorbidity compared to those who slept for up to seven hours. The study continued to deliver bad news as researchers found that sleep duration of five hours or less in people over the age of 50 was associated with a 25% increased risk of mortality over 25 years. Researchers believe the increased risk of chronic diseases can explain this increase in mortality. “As people get older, their sleep habits and sleep structure change. However, it is recommended to sleep for seven to eight hours a night—as sleep durations above or below this have previously been associated with individual chronic diseases, said lead author Dr. Severine Sabia. “Our findings show that short sleep duration is also associated with multimorbidity.” Getting enough sleep allows the body to rest. Without adequate sleep, the risk of heart disease and stroke also may be heightened due to increased blood pressure and inflammation. Making Smart Lifestyle Choices To help ensure a better night’s sleep, smart lifestyle choices must be made. These include avoiding large meals before bedtime, avoiding electronic devices at least two hours before going to sleep, getting plenty of physical activity, and being exposed to light during the day. It is also recommended to make sure the bedroom is dark, quiet, and at a comfortable temperature. Getting the proper vitamins and nutrients is essential to keep the body healthy and help it get the rest it needs. Sleep Sure Plus is designed to help promote optimal sleep and restfulness through a variety of ingredients. One of the most important ingredients included in this unique formula is melatonin. Melatonin is a hormone essential for regulating the circadian rhythm (the body’s internal clock). Sleep Sure Plus also contains valerian, one of the best natural ingredients for promoting rest and relaxation. These two essential ingredients are joined by another 6, which all work together to provide a better quality of sleep.

Third Room Teases User-Generated Content For The Metaverse Thenewstack.io
Third Room Teases User-Generated Content For The Metaverse – Thenewstack.io https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/third-room-teases-user-generated-content-for-the-metaverse-thenewstack-io/ “It reminds me of the feeling when Netscape first added JavaScript to the web.” So says Matthew Hodgson, the creator of the Matrix network and now building a web-based metaverse client called Third Room. He thinks he’s cracked the solution to creating user-generated content (UGC) for the metaverse. I first came across Hodgson’s work last August, when I profiled a decentralized chat network called Matrix that aims to provide an alternative to commercial instant messenger (IM) products like Slack and Meta’s WhatsApp. Since that time, Matrix has continued to grow — it now has 72 million users on the Matrix network (total users, not active) and about 100,000 servers. The network is “roughly tripling in size every year” according to Hodgson, in an interview with The New Stack. But as we know, time moves fast on the internet and new paradigms emerge for communication and socializing online. After being just a glint in Mark Zuckerberg’s eye in 2021, the metaverse is now one of the most hyped paradigm shifts. Like the Meta founder, Hodgson has decided to jump into the virtual world — and with both feet. “Our avatars even have legs, which apparently is completely revolutionary,” he told me in his droll British accent. I knew this story didn’t have legs https://t.co/G2SosBKu3p — mat honan (@mat) October 13, 2022 Third Room promises “open, decentralised, immersive worlds built on Matrix.” Just as Matrix appeals to internet users concerned about privacy and big tech power, Third Room asks us to “imagine a metaverse free from Meta and Facebook where your data isn’t mined and sold to the highest bidder.” Like Matrix, Third Room has “end-to-end encryption.” And just to prove that all forms of commercialization are verboten, cryptocurrencies and NFTs are not part of the Third Room vision. Third Room Compared to Croquet Hodgson explained that Third Room “is entirely running in WebGL on a web browser, using a new game engine that we’ve written called Manifold, based on Three.js, which gives just ludicrously good performance.” The product also uses the bitECS entity component system and the Rapier physics engine, and it connects to Matrix via Hydrogen SDK (the React framework launched last year by Shopify) to provide Matrix chat and VoIP features. Third Room; image via its website When Hodgson demoed Third Room to me, it reminded me of the demo of Croquet that I saw back in May — another web-based virtual world. The two products have obvious things in common; both are built on WebGL, Three.js and Rapier. Hodgson also said the original vision for Croquet, conceived by David A. Smith and Alan Kay back in the 1990s and early 2000s, was an inspiration for Third Room. “Conceptually, this [Third Room] is quite similar to the original Croquet vision that Alan Kay and co came up with, back in the day, of Smalltalk objects which are distributed over the network, and you basically have an infinite canvas for building richer experiences. And honestly, it was quite an inspiration for doing it this way.” An interesting feature of Third Room is its in-world editor, which enables developers to directly manipulate virtual objects inside Third Room itself. In other words, a separate authoring environment isn’t required. This seems to be a more straightforward approach than Croquet, which has an in-world editor called Microverse IDE that is part of a larger browser-based operating system. UGC for the Metaverse One of the unknowns in the metaverse is how ordinary people will create content in it — a.k.a. user-generated content (UGC). In today’s web, people use blogs and social media apps like Facebook, YouTube and TikTok to create content. There’s been a lot of chatter this year that generative AI software will enable people to easily create 3D content for use in the metaverse. That may well happen, but in the meantime, the Matrix team is working on its own solution for Third Room. Hodgson wants the in-world editing controls in Third Room to be used to create UGC. “We’re currently hard at work on this,” he said, “using Wasm sandboxes as the underlying execution environment for UGC, with QuickJS as one UGC scripting environment layered on top (or alternatively Rust, Zig, C, or anything else that can compile down to Wasm). The sandbox will expose at least a scenegraph API to let the UGC manipulate the glTF that makes up the world directly.” Hodgson says Third Room will be releasing the scenegraph API as an open standard, “tentatively called WebSceneGraph or WebSG.” He added that it won’t be specific to Third Room or the Manifold game engine. While I was writing this article, Hodgson emailed me back to excitedly tell me that “we got the [Wasm] engine working and the first ever piece of UGC in Third Room went live.” You can see the short animation below. He also included a code snippet, along with further explanation: const code = `   ${glMatrixText}   const node = new WebSG.Node();   node.position[1] = 1.6;   onUpdate = (dt) = {     glMatrix.quat.rotateY(node.quaternion, node.quaternion, dt * 0.5);   }; `; await loadJSScript(ctx, code); “It’s defining a little fragment of JavaScript as a string, which grabs a node from the WebSG glTF scene, positions it, and spins it,” he explained. “And then we load that script as JS into the UGC engine, and hey presto: the world is scripted.” He added, “It’s the first time we’ve had arbitrary sandboxed scriptable functionality that clients can execute themselves. It reminds me of the feeling when Netscape first added JavaScript to the Web. The next step is clearly to implement a simple in-world IDE using the same primitives, and then everyone can go wild building UGC.” The Web’s Place in the Metaverse One of my hobby horses is ensuring that the web is always part of the conversation when it comes to the metaverse, since some of the primary vendors (like Meta and Epic Games) rarely mention web technologies. Unsurprisingly, Hodgson is bullish on the web. He thinks companies like Meta and Epic Games are aiming for “pure vendor lock.” “They want people to be locked into a binary app, which is their walled garden,” he said. “And also they seem to be bizarrely obsessed with VR, whereas in practice the hardware is still not there. Whereas an experience inside a web browser window is great. If you look at the successful metaverses that exist today, whether it’s Roblox or Minecraft, VR is very much a kind of weird optional experimental thing; and I’m just baffled as to why Meta bet the farm on it.” If the metaverse is going to be the next big platform on the internet, then Hodgson wants there to be decentralized, open source versions of communications software — just as Matrix is for the current web. “The reason we built Matrix was to fight the walled gardens for instant messaging and VoIP and provide an open communication for the web. And we see the whole thing potentially happening again before our eyes [with metaverse], with the exception that we’re actually in the game from the outset. And in fact, we’re arguably ahead of some of the gatekeepers for once.” Group Created with Sketch.

Over 70% Of Surveyed El Salvador Citizens Say The Country’s Bitcoin Strategy Has ‘Failed’ – Cryptonews https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/over-70-of-surveyed-el-salvador-citizens-say-the-countrys-bitcoin-strategy-has-failed-cryptonews/ Source: AdobeStock / Milosz Maslanka Just above three-quarters of surveyed Salvadorians reportedly see the adoption of bitcoin (BTC) as a failure. According to the poll by the University of Central America (UCA), as reported by Barron’s, 77% of respondents consider the BTC adoption as legal tender in 2021, alongside the dollar, “to have been a failure.” 75.6% of respondents said they haven’t used crypto in 2022 at all. The UCA rector Andreu Oliva, commenting on the results of the study, was quoted as saying that, “Bitcoin is the government’s most unpopular measure, the most criticized and the most frowned upon.” The UCA study also found that 77% of Salvadorans think that President Nayib Bukele “should not continue to spend public money to buy Bitcoin.” In July this year, Bukele announced that the country had bought yet another “dip” – purchasing BTC 80 at a price of USD 19,000 per coin. It appears that Bukele has authorized the purchase of some BTC 2,381 to date, spending almost $105 million of public funds in the process. Bitcoin was adopted as a legal tender in the country in September 2021. Bukele aimed to promote crypto transfers from about three million Salvadorans living overseas to their relatives in the country, hence also saving on bank charges, the Barron’s noted, stating that it was a strategic decision as remittances make up more than a quarter of El Salvador‘s gross domestic product. Yet, as reported in August this year, a report cited data from the Central Reserve Bank that claimed that under 2% of remittances made to El Salvador make use of the state-operated Chivo bitcoin app and wallet. Furthermore, bitcoin ATM booths in the nation were “empty” less than a year after their launch. The government, however, claimed that the app is still popular among many citizens. In April, the American National Bureau of Economic Research published a survey that showed 20% of Salvadorans were continuing to make use of the Chivo Wallet. But this is not the first time the ‘bitcoin experiment’ was deemed a failure in the country, with many critics, outlets, and organizations calling out the government for the lack of transparency when it comes to spending on BTC, and saying that spending on infrastructure for overseas bitcoiners hoping to relocate to El Salvador was also causing financial wrinkles. Why Life Expectancy In The US Is Falling Harvard Health
Why Life Expectancy In The US Is Falling Harvard Health
Why Life Expectancy In The US Is Falling – Harvard Health https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/why-life-expectancy-in-the-us-is-falling-harvard-health/ COVID-19 and drug overdoses are the biggest contributors. My wife likes to say it’d be helpful if everyone knew their “expiration date” — as in the date you die. You know, for planning purposes. Of course, most of us don’t. Perhaps the closest thing a healthy person has to gauge longevity is life expectancy. For example, a baby born in the US in 2021 has an estimated life expectancy of about 76 years, according to the latest report from the National Center for Health Statistics. Our life expectancy varies depending on our current age, sex, race and ethnicity, and where in the US we live. Unfortunately, this new report shows a startling rise in death rates and decline in longevity. A dramatic fall in life expectancy With rare exceptions, life expectancy has been on the rise in the US: it was 47 years in 1900, 68 years in 1950, and by 2019 it had risen to nearly 79 years. But it fell to 77 in 2020 and dropped further, to just over 76, in 2021. That’s the largest decrease over a two-year span since the 1920s. Yet life expectancy figures represent averages totaled from hundreds of thousands of people sorted into specific groups, and some groups fare much better than others: Life expectancy for American Indian and Alaska Native populations fell more than other ethnic groups; at 65.2 years, the latest life expectancy estimates for these groups are similar to that of the US population in 1944. Life expectancy for white Americans (76.4 years) is longer than that of Black Americans (70.8 years); until this most recent report, this gap had been narrowing. For Asian Americans, life expectancy (83.5 years) remains the longest among ethnic groups for which data is collected. Hispanic Americans had the next longest life expectancy, at 77.7 years. For women and men, life expectancy of 79.1 years and 73.2 years reflects a long-apparent, significant gap. It’s important to remember that these estimates represent average life expectancies based on hundreds of thousands of people. They’re accurate for the populations they represent, but they aren’t terribly accurate for a particular individual. For each of us, lifespan is affected by additional factors, including health habits, disease, and genes. Why is life expectancy falling in the US? COVID-19, drug overdoses, and accidental injury accounted for about two-thirds of the decline in life expectancy, according to the 2022 report. Other reasons included heart and liver disease and suicides. The drop in life expectancy would have been even greater if not for a bit of good news: decreases in deaths from chronic lung disease, pneumonia, influenza, and Alzheimer’s disease. Alarming disparities in life expectancy Some groups experienced much bigger drops in life expectancy over the last two years than others: 6.6 years for the American Indian/Alaska Native population 4.2 years for Hispanic Americans 4.0 years for Black Americans 2.4 years for white Americans 2.1 years for Asian Americans. The social determinants of health likely explain a lot of these disparities. For example, those with the shortest life expectancies in the US tend to have the most poverty, face the most food insecurity, and have less or no access to healthcare, all factors that contribute to lower life expectancy. Additionally, groups with lower life expectancy tend to have higher-risk jobs that can’t be performed virtually, live in more crowded settings, and have less access to vaccination, which increases the risk of becoming sick with or dying of COVID-19. Notably, life expectancy varies widely by state. Lower life expectancy in southern states raises the possibility that politics, vaccination policies, pollution, climate, or other variable factors may contribute to discrepancies in life expectancy. The bottom line Life expectancy is only one measure of health. Other measures, such as infant mortality, maternal mortality, vaccination and cancer screening rates, and years of healthy life lived are not directly captured by reports on life expectancy. Still, it’s striking — and disappointing — that after decades of increasing life expectancy, and at a time when researchers are rethinking aging and the limits of the lifespan, we are now seeing life expectancy fall. This downward trend could be reversed if we make progress in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic and opioid epidemic. Can we prevent premature death and eliminate disparities in life expectancy? These are challenging, worthy goals that require individual and collective action. We can all vow to exercise more, choose a healthier diet, and work harder to be healthy as best we can. But public health and political leaders also have important roles to play, particularly for marginalized, disadvantaged citizens. It’s notable, for example, that some of the states with the lowest life expectancies are also the ones with the most uninsured residents and, yet, have turned down Medicaid expansion. We may not know our expirations dates, but as one measure of our collective health, I’d much prefer to see them moving later rather than sooner.

Banks, Big Tech Seek Clearer Guidance On Combating Scams – U.S. News & World Report https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/banks-big-tech-seek-clearer-guidance-on-combating-scams-u-s-news-world-report/ By Huw Jones LONDON (Reuters) – Banks, tech and telecom companies in Britain are calling on regulators and lawmakers to make it easier for them to share anonymised data on customers so they can spot and stop scams faster, a report published on Thursday said. Bank fraud has cost British consumers nearly 610 million pounds ($684.36 million) so far this year, posing a national security threat, banking lobby group UK Finance said this month. Banks have already improved defences against scams, but a report from industry body Stop Scams UK and the Royal United Services Institute on Thursday said complex guidelines and processes around privacy law make it difficult for companies to share data to stop fraud. Britain has proposed an ‘online safety bill’ to deal with harmful content online, and help financial regulators crack down harder on scams. Banks hope the bill will include clearer guidance on allowing them to share anonymised customer data – or data that does not identify the individual if refers to – to spot new types of scams more quickly. “If we are to unlock data sharing at scale, we call for proportionate and sensible changes to guidance around the interpretation of privacy law,” said Ruth Evans, chair of Stop Scams UK, whose members include HSBC, Lloyds, NatWest, Barclays, TalkTalk, Meta and Google. Risk of regulatory intervention and a lack of clarity on what is allowed under the law stifles initiative, and changes in policy are needed to make it clear that sharing data is allowed and even encouraged, the report said. Last month, more banks jointed Stop Scams UK’s fraud-reporting hotline as the cost of living crisis is leading to an increase in the number of financial scams. However, banks demanding more certainty over sharing anonymised data face opposition from privacy groups. Incredible LGBITQ+ Friendly Destinations To Add To Your Travel Bucket List – EWN https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/incredible-lgbitq-friendly-destinations-to-add-to-your-travel-bucket-list-ewn/ Are you planning an international vacation and wondering where the most LGBTQ+-friendly destinations are? A rainbow flag, representing equality for members of the LGBTI community. Picture: Stock.xchng. JOHANNESBURG – The recognition and inclusion of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender/transsexual, intersex and queer/questioning (LGBITQ+) community in South Africa. Several events including marches have over the years been staged to highlight the importance of affording LGBITQ+ equality in society. This is despite the country’s Constitution promoting inclusivity and diversity. Are you planning an international vacation and wondering where the most LGBITQ+-friendly destinations are? Known for being a country that is proud of its LGBITQ+ community as well as driving equality on the continent, South Africa is recognised as a country that stands with its LGBITQ+ community. South Africa legalised same-sex marriage in 2006, making it the first African country and fifth in the world to do so, and it continues to constitutionally protect its citizens against discrimination based on sexual orientation. While oppressive laws and unwelcoming societies are still prevalent in many parts of the world, there are many other open-minded countries where everyone can express themselves freely. Amsterdam, The Netherlands Often called the world’s most liberal city, Amsterdam, is one of the most LGBITQ+-friendly destinations in the world. Amsterdam’s legendary open-mindedness saw homosexuality decriminalised way back in the early 1800s and the Netherlands was the first country in the world to welcome same-sex marriages back in 2001. The city, often called Europe’s gay capital, plays host to a number of LGBITQ+events throughout the year and is home to some of the world’s most popular gay bars – including Spijker Bar, a gay bar that is considered the oldest and friendliest in Amsterdam. However, there is so much more to Amsterdam’s gay scene than its many bars. Toronto, Canada As Canada’s largest city, Toronto has a bustling queer community and, as a result, is one of the most politically active cities in the world in terms of gay rights. Toronto is famous for having an active and energetic gay village that is full of various gay-owned bars, clubs and businesses. The city, which is home to tourist attractions like the CN Tower, the Royal Ontario Museum, and just a short drive from the world-famous Niagara Falls, also plays host to the Inside Out LGBITQ+ Film Festival, which occurs over two weeks in May. Stockholm, Sweden Stockholm is famous for being one of the most open-minded cities in the world. Despite being a country rich in history and filled with gorgeous buildings and tourist hotspots, its thriving LGBITQ+ scene makes it a popular destination for tourists from around the globe. Patricia is the city’s biggest gay club with parties happening every night of the week. If you’re looking for something a little more low-key, a visit to the country’s popular ABBA Museum is a must. Mykonos, Greece If an island holiday is what you are after, many consider Greece’s popular city of Mykonos. Many consider Mykonos as the original gay island in the Mediterranean, a testament to its long-standing relationship with the LGBITQ+ community. Mykonos is home to dozens of gay beaches, hotels, establishments and beaches that are either gay-exclusive or gay-friendly, making it the perfect city for the LGBITQ+ community to soak up that Mediterranean sun. %

The wait finally over, Sendik’s Food Market opened its doors Oct. 19 for the first time with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Sendik’s owners and city officials. Grand opening celebrations will continue for the next couple of weeks with store sweepstakes, live music, fun festivities and more. The new 60,000-squarefoot grocery will employ 150 people and is an anchor store for the ongoing Olympia Fields development along Summit Avenue. Cotenants of the new location will include Planet Fitness and Pet Supplies Plus. “Oconomowoc is such a beautiful area with a great sense of community. The wonderful downtown and growing surrounding areas make it a very special place and we’re so grateful to be a part of it. Food is all about family and friends and fun around the dinner table and we’re proud to bring true food innovations and new experiences to our customers,” said third generation Sendik’s co-owner Ted Balistreri. Stay up-to-date on all the latest Oconomowoc-area news with a subscription: Click here MSI General of Nashotah partnered with Sendik’s Food Market to repurpose the 87,000 square feet of space at the old Kmart building, vastly improving the inside, as well as redesigning the exterior façade and parking lot. “We’re excited to help Sendik’s bring their new store to Oconomowoc. It’s been a true collaboration between MSI General, Sendik’s and all the subcontractors,” said Ken Krahe, president of MSI General. “I think it’s great we were able to revitalize the old building and give it new life. It’s been a fun project to be a part of.” Sendik’s Food Markets are well-known for taking grocery shopping up a notch by offering a variety of items. Sendik’s popular reusable red bags are stocked and ready to go as the new store celebrated its grand opening in Oconomowoc Wednesday. The new store will also feature a 10-foot-tall hydroponic garden providing leafy greens for the salad bar, an extensive Sendik’s Home department offering flowers, gifts, décor, clothing, and seasonal items. Also in this store will be made-to-order sandwiches, freshly made popcorn stand, and according to a statement, the largest wine and spirits and meat/seafood departments in the area. “Our team is so creative and wanted to try new designs and product offerings that our customers really care about to make this Oconomowoc store really different. We get excited when we find something that is local and really delicious, and we can bring it in for our customers. We have a great partnership with our vendors and the results are truly amazing,” added Balistreri. The Balistreri family has been serving the greater Milwaukee community for the last 96 years. The Oconomowoc store will be the 18th Sendik’s Food Market location in Southeastern Wisconsin.

Healthy Living: Support Menopause Naturally Limerick Live Limerick Live
Healthy Living: Support Menopause Naturally – Limerick Live – Limerick Live https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/healthy-living-support-menopause-naturally-limerick-live-limerick-live/ OCTOBER 18 was World Menopause Day which takes place to raise awareness, break the stigma and highlight the support options available for improving health and wellbeing during this time of transition. Most women in the western world are affected by some of the symptoms – mood swings, low libido, thinning bones, insomnia, and forgetfulness. Hot flushes and night sweats are experienced by more than 85% of menopausal women with varying degree of severity up to ten years after their last period. These symptoms are linked with a drop in Estrogen and Progesterone levels that follows the cessation of ovulation. For example, Estrogen helps lift our mood so, when levels drop, we may feel depressed. Scientists are not sure exactly what causes hot flushes, but they occur because due to the hormonal imbalances the brain somehow decides that the body is overheated and responds by increasing the blood flow through the skin. Night sweats often cause frequent interruption of sleep, contributing to fatigue. The repair and maintenance system of bones is mainly controlled by hormones, including estrogen and progesterone, regulating osteoclasts and osteoblasts which break down old bone cells, replacing them with new. As levels of these hormones fall, bones begin to deteriorate and lose density. Osteoporosis literally means: “bone that has holes”. Long-term poor diet, emotional stress, and lack of exercise may lead to an increase in menopausal symptoms. Hormone replacement therapy has been a lifeline for many women; however, no medicines are without their side effects, therefore natural therapies should be sought first that help to support the transition and overall long-term health. To help ease hot flushes, stop eating foods that are likely to trigger or worsen them, such as stimulants – especially at night. Blood sugar imbalances are also linked to more frequent hot flushes. Avoid snacking on sugary foods – choose wholefoods, including protein and healthy fats in each meal. This will help balance your moods also. Sage is known for its body temperature regulating properties and can overcome hot flushes within a couple of weeks. To help calm the hormone imbalances, phyto-estrogenic foods should be part of everyday diet, such as beans, lentils, fennel seeds and ground flax seeds. Herbal remedies containing red clover, dong quai, maca and evening primrose oil further help to counteract the dropping hormones, while stress supporting ashwagandha, Rhodiola and Siberian ginseng support energy, sleep and mental focus. Studies show that supplementing large doses of Calcium can lead to hardening of the arteries and kidney damage. Calcium is best supplied by mineral rich foods, other than dairy products, such as dark green vegetables, sea vegetables, nuts, seeds, beans and dried fruit such as figs. In any case, Vitamin K2 is of utmost necessity to ensure the calcium gets into the bones, not lodged into soft tissues. As digestion is declining with age, it needs to be boosted every day for best absorption. Taking raw cider vinegar or bitter herbs before main meals can ensure you get the most out of your delicious, nutritious food. ADVERTISEMENT – CONTINUE READING BELOW

Dash 2 Trade Offers New Crypto Trading Tools For All Best Presale 2022? Cryptonews
Dash 2 Trade Offers New Crypto Trading Tools For All Best Presale 2022? Cryptonews
Dash 2 Trade Offers New Crypto Trading Tools For All – Best Presale 2022? – Cryptonews https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/dash-2-trade-offers-new-crypto-trading-tools-for-all-best-presale-2022-cryptonews/ Disclaimer: The Industry Talk section features insights by crypto industry players and is not a part of the editorial content of Cryptonews.com. The Dash 2 Trade (D2T) presale has already raised over $400,000, barely 24 hours after beginning. Its quick progress comes as significant validation for the Ethereum-based platform, which will provide cryptocurrency traders with actionable market data, insights, and analysis in real time. In a year marked by big presales, the D2T token sale has plenty of competition, yet its strong fundamentals have already helped it stand out from the crowd. And with the market lacking a trading intelligence platform of the scope and usability of Dash 2 Trade, it has a very good chance of becoming one of the most successful presales and coin listings of 2022. Dash 2 Trade Offers New Crypto Trading Tools for All – Best Presale 2022? Kicking off yesterday, the Dash 2 Trade presale quickly passed important milestones, crossing $300,000 within only a few hours. Now, it’s up to $400,00, and likely to pass a few more important targets in the coming hours.  As set forth in its whitepaper, Dash 2 Trade is building a “world class” cryptocurrency analytics and social trading platform, one which will make it easier for investors of all levels to make informed investment decisions. To this end, it will provide such features as the following: Trading signals for indicating new buy or sell opportunities Social sentiment metrics and on-chain analysis to highlight trending cryptocurrencies Strategy building and social trading tools for helping investors formulate new approaches A scoring system enabling users to gain access to presales Crypto listing alerts  All of these features will be situated within the platform’s unique dashboard, which combines a wealth of tools yet presents them in a streamlined and accessible, making them useful for more than just experienced traders. While Dash 2 Trade’s presale has only just begun, its platform and dashboard have already been in development for months, while it has also received venture capital funding worth $200,000. This sets it up nicely for further development, as does the fact that Dash 2 Trade has in fact grown out of Learn2Trade, a forex signals provider that provides daily technical analysis and that draws upon a community of over 70,000 active traders. This puts Dash 2 Trade in an excellent position to build on Learn2Trade’s growth and experience, with its crypto-focused dashboard unique within the cryptocurrency market.  Within the Dash 2 Trade platform, native token D2T can be used to grant holders access to analysis, signals and social trading, as well as other features. It will therefore witness growing demand — and a rising the price — the more popular Dash 2 Trade becomes. At the moment, the presale is making it available at a price of 0.0476 USDT for 1 DST. This price, however, will last only for as long as the sale’s first stage, at which point it will rise to 0.05 USDT. Given that stage one will end after it raises the equivalent of $1,666,000, DST could see its price increase very soon. As such, interested parties may want to act sooner rather than later. How High? Dash 2 Trade’s progress so far suggests that its presale will sell out fairly comfortably, and that it could indeed enjoy some successful listings in the New Year. Of course, the question is, how high could it gain over its presale price? This is an important question, especially when the ongoing bear market would suggest that hopes for big returns should probably be downplayed at the moment. The thing is, even though we are still in a bear market, other presale coins have gone on to enjoy successful initial listings. This was especially the case with Tamadoge (TAMA), which raised $19 million in September and then posted a return of 1,800% at one point, following its listing on OKX. This isn’t to say that D2T will also surge by 1,800% once it receives a few listings. However, it certainly has good fundamentals, with its trading intelligence platform likely to be in demand within the cryptocurrency ecosystem. A

The rupee is expected to open at 82.98-83.02 per U.S. dollar, compared with a record low of 83.02 in the previous session. Large corporate dollar and custodial outflows had prompted a selloff in the currency toward the last one-and-a-half hour of trade on Wednesday, traders said. Register now for FREE unlimited access to Reuters.com The dollar’s broad strength and stop losses at 82.40, a level the Reserve Bank of India was likely protecting, accentuated the rupee’s decline. The “saving grace” for the rupee after “yesterday’s meltdown” is that post regular trading hours, it was broadly flat at around the 83 level, a currency dealer at a Mumbai-based bank said. “In initial trades, traders will be looking to assess how sticky this new big figure proves.” The selloff in U.S. Treasuries resumed on Wednesday, pushing near-maturity and longer-maturity Treasury yields to fresh multi-year highs. Yields had spiked despite a weak U.S. housing report. The bets on the U.S. Fed to continue hiking rates aggressively got a boost after Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari said underlying inflation pressures probably have not peaked yet. Fed funds futures have priced in a near 94% chance of a 75 bps rate rise in November, and a 76% probability of another 75 bps increase in December, according to the CME FedWatch Tool. The rise in yields and safe-haven demand catapulted the dollar index back to above the 113-levels. The onshore Chinese yuan dropped to 7.2474 to the dollar, leading Asian currencies lower. U.S. equity futures extended their decline and Asian shares were down 1% to 2.7%. The milestone is a result of autonomous driving industry’s growing focus on mass production and commercial deployment. The heavy-duty truck preloaded with Inceptio’s Xuanyuan system was first mass produced in late 2021. By now, Xuanyuan system has been preloaded to multiple heavy-duty truck models, which serve diversified line-haul freight demands such as heavy load and light cargo. The trucks powered by Inceptio’s level 3 autonomous Xuanyuan system have been in daily commercial operations on a large scale due to their proven economical and safety superiority over manual driving trucks. The commercial operation covers China’s four economic circles of the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta, Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei, and Central China, as well as the main transportation routes across China, serving nearly 20 leading logistics companies in the fields of express and less-than-truckload logistics. Unveiled in March 2021, Xuanyuan system is based on Inceptio’s full stack autonomous technology and can effectively handle a variety of transport conditions, including changeable weather, day and night, plains or mountains, and light cargo or heavy loads. According to Julian Ma, Founder & CEO of Inceptio Technology, “The milestone of 10 million kilometers is a testimony to the strengths of our Xuanyuan system and the strong market demand of autonomous trucks. The development of our full-stack autonomous technology is accelerating by leveraging our fast-growing mass production volume and rapidly accumulating real-world data asset. Truss Faces Clamor To Quit Amid UK Government Chaos – 69News WFMZ-TV https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/truss-faces-clamor-to-quit-amid-uk-government-chaos-69news-wfmz-tv/ LONDON (AP) — U.K. Prime Minister Liz Truss was hanging on to power by a thread on Thursday, after a senior minister quit her government with a barrage of criticism and a vote in the House of Commons descended into chaos and acrimony. A botched economic plan unveiled by the government last month triggered financial turmoil and a political crisis that has seen the replacement of Truss’ Treasury chief, multiple policy U-turns and a breakdown of discipline in the governing Conservative Party. Many Conservatives say Truss must resign – but she has remained defiant, saying she is “a fighter and not a quitter.” Conservative lawmaker Simon Hoare said the government was in disarray. “Nobody has a route plan. It’s all sort of hand-to-hand fighting on a day-to-day basis,” he told the BBC on Thursday. He said Truss had “about 12 hours” to turn the situation around. Through the morning, a growing number of Conservative members of Parliament called for Truss to step down and end the chaos. “It’s time for the prime minister to go,” said lawmaker Miriam Cates. Another, Steve Double, said: “She isn’t up to the job, sadly.” Newspapers that usually support the Conservatives were vitriolic. An editorial in the Daily Mail was headlined: “The wheels have come off the Tory clown car.” International Trade Secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan, sent onto the airwaves Thursday morning to defend the government, insisted the administration was providing “stability.” But she was unable to guarantee Truss would lead the party into the next election. “At the moment, I think that’s the case,” she said. With opinion polls giving the Labour Party a large and growing lead, many Conservatives now believe their only hope of avoiding electoral oblivion is to replace Truss. But they are divided about how to get rid of her, and over who should replace her. The party is keen to avoid another divisive leadership contest like the race a few months ago that saw Truss defeat ex-Treasury chief Rishi Sunak. Among potential replacements — if only Conservative lawmakers can agree — are Sunak, House of Commons leader Penny Mordaunt and newly appointed Treasury chief Jeremy Hunt. A national election doesn’t have to be held until 2024, and under Conservative Party rules, Truss technically is safe from a leadership challenge for a year. The rules can be changed if enough lawmakers want it. There is fevered speculation about how many lawmakers have already submitted letters calling for a no-confidence vote. In a major blow, Home Secretary Suella Braverman resigned Wednesday after breaching rules by sending an official document from her personal email account. She used her resignation letter to lambaste Truss, saying she had “concerns about the direction of this government.” “The business of government relies upon people accepting responsibility for their mistakes,” she said in a thinly veiled dig at Truss. Braverman was replaced as home secretary, the minister responsible for immigration and law and order, by former Cabinet minister Grant Shapps, a high-profile supporter of her defeated rival Sunak. Truss faced more turmoil in Parliament Wednesday evening on a vote over fracking for shale gas — a practice that Truss wants to resume despite opposition from many Conservatives. With a large Conservative majority in Parliament, an opposition call for a fracking ban was easily defeated, but some lawmakers were furious that Conservative Party whips said the vote would be treated as a confidence motion, meaning the government would fall if the motion passed. There were angry scenes in the House of Commons, with party whips accused of using heavy-handed tactics to gain votes. Labour lawmaker Chris Bryant said he “saw members being physically manhandled … and being bullied.” Conservative officials denied there had been manhandling. Rumors swirled that Conservative Chief Whip Wendy Morton, who is responsible for party discipline, and her deputy had resigned. Hours later, Truss’ office said both remained in their jobs. The dramatic developments came days after Truss fired her Treasury chief, Kwasi Kwarteng, on Friday after the economic package the pair unveiled Sept. 23 spooked financial markets and triggered an economic and political crisis. The plan’s 45 billion pounds ($50 billion) in unfunded tax cuts sparked turmoil on financial markets, hammering the value of the pound and increasing the cost of U.K. government borrowing. The Bank of England was forced to intervene to prevent the crisis from spreading to the wider economy and putting pension funds at risk. On Monday Kwarteng’s replacement, Hunt, scrapped almost all of Truss’ tax cuts, along with her flagship energy policy and her promise of no public spending cuts. He said the government will need to save billions of pounds and there are “many difficult decisions” to be made before he sets out a medium-term fiscal plan on Oct. 31. Speaking to lawmakers for the first time since the U-turn, Truss apologized Wednesday and admitted she had made mistakes during her six weeks in office, but insisted that by changing course she had “taken responsibility and made the right decisions in the interest of the country’s economic stability.” Opposition lawmakers shouted “Resign!” as she spoke in the House of Commons. But she insisted: “I am a fighter and not a quitter.” Follow AP’s coverage of British politics at https://apnews.com/hub/liz-truss Copyright 2022 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. Should You Exercise During Pregnancy? Eve Magazine
Should You Exercise During Pregnancy? Eve Magazine
Should You Exercise During Pregnancy? – Eve Magazine https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/should-you-exercise-during-pregnancy-eve-magazine/  Should you exercise during pregnancy? (Photo: Good Housekeeping) There are numerous dos and don’ts associated with pregnancy, and many expectant mothers choose to take extra precautions to avoid endangering their unborn child. And one question that often comes up is whether or not pregnant women ought to exercise. After all, encouraging healthy living is the whole point of being in shape, right? If you are reading this, you are probably here because you are wondering the same. Should you continue with your regular routine or wait till the baby is born before renewing your gym membership? Here are some things you need to consider before getting into a fitness routine: Consult your physician Keeping your child calm during a flight Teach your kids how to be cheerful losers Why couples should talk about mental health What you can eat to reduce wrinkles First things first, before you engage in any physical activity, you should consult with your doctor on whether or not it is safe for you to exercise or engage in any physical activity. Once you get the go-ahead is when you can find the right exercises for you. Time taken If you are pregnant you should spend at most 30 minutes a day on your workout. Also if you haven’t been doing any exercises in a while you need to make the transition gradual until you reach your 30-minute per day mark. You can start with five-minute workouts, progress to 10 minutes and eventually you will get to 30 minutes but you should remember this is not the time to push yourself beyond your limits. Types of exercises Remember, your body can no longer take the kind of pressure you were used to before the pregnancy, this is especially true after you’re 16 weeks along in the pregnancy and you’re feeling the weight of your growing baby. Also, avoid any type of contact sport or exercise that could easily get you hit or hurt. Enrol on a fitness class In most cases, people will enrol on random fitness classes and just roll with it but if you are not sure of what you are doing, find a hospital that provides fitness classes for expectant mothers. These fitness classes will offer prenatal yoga and routines and the best part is your safety will be guaranteed at all times. However, if that’s not an option, get a gym partner like your spouse or friend, who can help you through the sessions and can be on the lookout to help you when your reach your limit or in case of an accident. Drink a lot of water Yes, you should drink as much water as you can before, during, and after your workout to stay as hydrated as possible. Heat stress can lead to exhaustion and dehydration which is not good for you and your baby. Listen to your body You may have been a fitness junkie before but during pregnancy, this kind of motivation may need to take a pose. Do not assume any symptoms you get while exercising, for instance, a headache, dizziness, chest pain, nausea or even vaginal bleeding. If you notice any of these symptoms, especially vaginal bleeding, go for a checkup immediately to ensure everything is okay, otherwise, take things slow. Tip: Swimming is mainly recommended for pregnant women since the water will support the extra weight. Also, it is important to remember that each pregnancy is different and with unique demands. Do not attempt to emulate your friends or relatives who had an entirely different pregnancy journey and experience from yours. Related Topics

Dennis Allen is in his first year as Sean Payton’s replacement in New Orleans, and there’s been a bit of a topsy-turvy go of it so far this year. NOLA sits at just 2-4 on the season, but Allen inherited a less-than ideal situation from Sean Payton, giving him time to figure it out. On the other sideline, Kliff Kingsbury must be feeling the coach’s chair get just a bit hotter. Arizona’s suboptimal 2-4 start has them in the cellar of the NFC West, and Kyler Murray’s lack of production to this point has certainly not helped Kingsbury’s case to stay employed. Murray, who signed a mega-deal with the Cardinals this offseason, has thrown six touchdowns to four interceptions and is coming off a loss to the Seahawks’ hapless defense. Speaking of space, this baby gives you a ton. It’s 30% larger than your typical trackpad and has a super low profile making it ultra-comfortable to use. The only place it lacks visibility is the battery port, since it’s totally built in as opposed to being an eyesore like some of your design choices. When you’re out of juice, simply plug in the trackpad using the included charging cable and keep scrollin’ on (which you shouldn’t have to do very often since the battery life is about a month). Get the Apple A1535 Magic Trackpad 2, which also includes a charging cable, for $100.99 (reg. $109). By the way, Apple Day is a great way to get these products at an unprecedented price. Act fast, this deal only runs until Oct. 21. Prices subject to change.

Learn Why Tora Inu Is Preparing To Become One Of The Top Crypto Presales Of 2022 – Cryptonews https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/learn-why-tora-inu-is-preparing-to-become-one-of-the-top-crypto-presales-of-2022-cryptonews/ Tora Inu presale Tora Inu is the latest talk of the crypto town. The meme coin sensation combines an array of play-to-earn and NFT utilities to host one of the hottest crypto presales of this year.  How Tora Inu Revives the Meme Coin Mania  The crypto market has seen an influx of meme coins over the last few years, especially since the massive success of Dogecoin and Shiba Inu. While Dogecoin was launched as a satire, it expanded its use cases and payment integrations over time to stay relevant.  With some intensive pumps from Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the coin gained traction from both the crypto and non-crypto worlds. It went through steep ups and downs, giving and wiping fortunes overnight.  However, the legendary meme coin is currently 91.99% down from its all-time high. Its focus on expanding the payment integrations and use cases has steadily declined during the bear market. The only thing that saves the project from death is renewed hopes of a pump from Elon Musk. Especially since he is getting ready to take over Twitter.  Meme coins that followed Dogecoin, like Shiba Inu, Dogelon Mars, SafeMoon, and ApeCoin have also failed to weather the bear market. Even worse, the hundreds of other meme coins that were spawned into the market over the years have faded into obscurity.  This is where Tora Inu comes in. The project focuses on creating value as much as speculation, tapping into meme coin, P2E, and NFT use cases. It is inspired by a Kai Ken — a breed of dog from Japan that is a national monument. It is one of the purest and rarest of the six native Japanese dog breeds, quite similar to the project’s vision.  The most exciting aspects of the game are the NFT Native Marketplace, P2E game, Mini Games with NFT Integration, and Lottery Mini Games that are now in the offing.  Check Out Tora Inu (TORA) The Ultimate Meme Coin Tora Inu is touted as the next-gen meme coin – and for good reasons.  The deflationary tokenomics of the project ensures that the token gains value over time. For this, a percentage of the tokens are burnt out of circulation after every single transaction, which eventually creates bullish momentum and a supply squeeze. Moreover, the protocol redistributes $TORA rewards to users after every transaction. The high earning potential of the Tora Inu ecosystem is another factor that contributes to its success. Tora Inu is home to a wide range of mini-games that let users earn an income while playing games. In addition to that, it will host different draws and lottery opportunities. The ecosystem also features a staking platform, which will increase the earning potential of token holders, apart from play-to-earn.  Tora Inu roadmap for 2022 Of course, being a meme coin, Tora Inu has to put as much effort into marketing as use cases. The token has a creative marketing team who have played a key role in building a staunch community for the project on Twitter and Telegram. There are also rumors that the project has acquired top-tier CEX and DEX partnerships, which will help it go for a public launch as soon as the presale concludes. To rule out doubts about rug pulls and scams, the team is fully verified by Coinsniper as well. The audit of the smart contract will be completed ahead of the presale.    Why TORA will be the best meme coin of 2022-2023? Utility-packed roadmap P2E gaming and metaverse integrations Huge sponsorship deal (to be announced soon) High-profile CEX listings for public launch  Led by a team of multidisciplinary experts Large marketing campaign Global community  Tora Inu has launched an exciting giveaway worth $25,000 for presale participants on Gleam.  Buy Tora Inu (TORA)

Russia Says U.S. ‘blackmail’ Over Fertilizer Exports Threatens Global Food Security – Reuters https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/russia-says-u-s-blackmail-over-fertilizer-exports-threatens-global-food-security-reuters/ Oct 20 (Reuters) – Russia’s foreign ministry said on Thursday that Moscow was ready to boost exports of food and fertilizers to help avert a global food crisis, but was being blocked from doing so by the United States. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Washington was “blackmailing” and “persecuting” those that try to trade with Russia and was therefore compromising global food security. The U.S. has not directly targeted Russian agricultural exports, but sanctions on Russia’s shipping, insurance, logistics and payments infrastructure are thwarting Russia’s ability to export crucial fertilizers and chemicals, Moscow says. Netflix Password Sharing Crackdown To Arrive By 2023 – India TV News https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/netflix-password-sharing-crackdown-to-arrive-by-2023-india-tv-news/ Image Source : NETFLIX Netflix Netflix, a Popular video streaming platform has announced that it is planning to crack down on password sharing at the beginning of 2023. As per the report filed by The Verge, Netflix has been planning to start allowing subscribers to create sub-accounts by next year as a part of its “monetising account sharing” strategy. Recently, it was reported that Netflix gained 2.41 million subscribers in the last quarter (July-September), making the platform have around 223.09 million subscribers globally. The company has said that it has grown by 1,04,000 paid subscribers in the US and Canada over the last three months, up from 73,000 in the same period the previous year, and says it remains committed to the “bingeable release model”. Earlier this year, Netflix experienced its first drop in subscribers in over a decade this quarter, as its subscriber count fell by 1.3 million in the US and Canada and 1 million worldwide. To address this, Netflix gradually began weaning users away from exchanging passwords, the report said. It conducted tests in Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru, where the streaming platform prompted users to pay extra if someone used their subscription outside of their household when the subscription was owned by them. Netflix further announced last week that it is rolling out its $6.99 per month ad-supported tier, called “Basic”, on November 3 in the US, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Spain, and the UK, the report added. Moreover, Netflix partnered with Microsoft to serve ads to users that will last anywhere from 15 to 30 seconds. Latest Technology News
