Review: 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 Redraws Sedans, And May Topple Tesla Model 3 – Autorecent https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/review-2023-hyundai-ioniq-6-redraws-sedans-and-may-topple-tesla-model-3-autorecent/ There’s a cause—past sheer recognition—why so many full-line carmakers have led with crossovers as they ramp up their lineups for the electrical period: Sporty midsize sedans just like the Hyundai Ioniq 6 require extra push and pull to look proper whereas delivering the aerodynamic effectivity that’s so vital for driving vary. To suit thick battery packs below the passenger ground means pushing up the roofline and compromising proportions to compensate, or settling for a cabin that feels extra cramped. Alternatively, conventional three-box sedans are compromised within the wind tunnel; it’s why so many automakers have settled for the tall-tail “kammback” kind as an alternative, with a hatchback as an alternative of a trunklid. Put the 2 collectively and it’s daunting. With sedans now not the core of the auto market, it’s much less stunning why so few automakers have tackled an electrical sedan.  However Hyundai has threaded the needle and ended up with one thing jaw-droppingly distinctive within the Ioniq 6. The Ioniq 6 concurrently solves the aero difficulty and treads new design floor, making different sedans look antiquated. Hyundai’s early tease of vary outcomes is likely to be sufficient to persuade skeptics. The Ioniq 6 will bear a WLTP vary ranking of as much as 382 miles, in line with the automaker. Based mostly on how the Ioniq 5 crossover has fared within the EPA cycle, versus the extra optimistic European WLTP, that may land it very near the Mannequin 3 Lengthy Vary’s 358 miles.   2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 It’s a trendsetter, seems even higher up shut, and from first impressions, it suggests for the primary time that there’s a automotive that one-ups the Tesla Mannequin 3 in lots of respects. Simply you wait.  One curve, many particulars It will have been simple for the Ioniq 6 to imitate the best-selling Tesla Mannequin 3, or to easily aping the Ioniq 5 hatchback that’s in ridiculously brief provide. However Hyundai didn’t go for both of these routes.  Hyundai calls the profile of the Ioniq 6 “one curve.” Aspect profile pics have a tendency to indicate particular person arcs, however in particular person it’s simple to figuratively lay a French curve throughout any portion of the automotive as an entire. The factor is curvy in all places. Influences embody the Stout Scarab and the Phantom Corsair, each from the Thirties; and the 1950 Saab 92; and a Nineteen Twenties aviation aesthetic on this “streamliner.” But to anybody fluent in trendy vehicles, it’s unimaginable to not see some Porsche influences in entrance and in again. Is {that a} whale tail? 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 first drive – South Korea Effectively, it’s a rear spoiler that performs a key function within the 0.21 coefficient of drag, making the Ioniq 6 Hyundai’s most aerodynamic manufacturing automotive ever. Modeled after the super-marine spitfire British World Conflict II airplane, it’s a kind of parts of magnificence the place engineering and design discover the candy spot. Don’t strive eradicating the spoiler for those who worth your freeway vary. The aero benefits are additionally made potential by an energetic air flap on the decrease entrance air consumption, letting airflow by and across the entrance wheels—and, by the sound of it, an entire lot of modeling and wind-tunnel work.  On the surface, Hyundai’s so-called parametric pixel design particulars, the emphasis on lighting, and the slim door handles are about the one issues in widespread with the Ioniq 5. That’s how Hyundai likes it, in an Ioniq lineup of fashions that may every make their very own assertion, together with the boxy Ioniq 7 SUV that’s on the best way as effectively.  No wasted house The Ioniq 6 is the primary sedan constructed from the corporate’s E-GMP devoted electrical car platform. It’s additionally the primary Hyundai mannequin to supply over-the-air firmware updates for the complete gamut of car capabilities. It rides on a 116.1-inch wheelbase and is 191.1 inches lengthy, 74.0 inches vast, and 58.9 inches tall. In total peak, the Ioniq 5 is barely about 4 inches taller than the Ioniq 6, however with them each at reverse sides of a storage you’d guess there’s extra of a distinction.  Hyundai has conceived every of the Ioniq fashions individually, with an emphasis on an inside “dwelling house,” parametric pixel cues peppered all through to unify the completely different seems, and sustainability in tech and supplies.  2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 first drive – South Korea In keeping with Hyundai world design chief Simon Loasby, controlling the visible peak of the automotive was essential. The broad arc that assures passenger house will get the place it must be, nevertheless it begins very low in back and front.  Simply as with the Ioniq 5, the sprint is pushed ahead greater than in different autos, and your complete entrance ground house feels open and ethereal. Just like the Tesla Mannequin 3, there isn’t loads of wasted house atop the sprint, and from an upright driving place the hood just about disappears, leaving an awesome view forward. Twin 12.3-inch shows stand upright in entrance of the motive force—the one within the center a touchscreen for infotainment, the one forward for gauges—however they’re certainly not in the best way.  The skateboard platform and lengthy wheelbase pay dividends in passenger house. The ground is flat all through the cabin, bringing glorious leg room to the again seat, even when the entrance seat is again all or almost all the best way. Simply don’t count on loads of headroom; I (and anybody over six ft tall) was urgent my noggin in opposition to the headliner, requiring a hunched-forward place that will be acceptable for a visit throughout city however not a highway journey. Up entrance, Hyundai provides a sturdy, two-tiered heart console; it doesn’t transfer round just like the one within the Ioniq 5, however there’s house for bigger gadgets beneath plus the highest space is degree and good for a laptop computer, they are saying.  2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 first drive – South Korea There’s a frunk, nevertheless it’s basically a small storage bin, good for charging cables or perhaps a laptop computer bag. The trunk isn’t very deep—simply sufficient for grocery luggage, though it’s vast and lengthy.  Not a sport sedan however properly balanced Rear-wheel-drive single-motor variations of the Ioniq 6 make 225 hp and 258 lb-ft and all-wheel-drive dual-motor fashions make 320 hp and 446 lb-ft. Hyundai claims a 0-62-mph acceleration time of seven.4 seconds in single-motor kind and 5.1 seconds in dual-motor kind, though its manufacturing unit acceleration instances are sometimes conservative.  2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 Our well-equipped dual-motor mannequin with 20-inch wheels felt a lot fast on this world of “instantaneous torque,” and the motors and traction system by no means wanted the Pirelli P Zeros to scramble for grip. What would this car be like with a firmer suspension and the higher-output 576-hp dual-motor format of the Kia EV6? Whereas precise horsepower figures are nonetheless TBA, that car is within the works because the Ioniq 6 N. It’s one to stay up for, given the Ioniq 6’s decrease, extra planted really feel.  The Ioniq 6 is certainly not firmly tuned. We’d name it a scosche firmer than the 5, however because you’re decrease you don’t really feel the roll as a lot. Steering really feel is gentle and simple, and it returns to heart effectively. It’s at its finest in tighter corners, the place it weights up properly, nevertheless it may use somewhat extra precision in the way it unwinds out of them. Versus the Ioniq 5 and just about the entire cohort of electrical crossovers, you sit extra within the automotive slightly than on it—and that makes an enormous distinction in notion as you nook shortly and luxuriate in driving.  The 6 will get hydraulic bushings in again to assist take in highway harshness, in addition to frequency-sensitive shocks with variable movement paths, to permit them to react otherwise to different inputs. The built-in drive axle has a hub-integrated outboard joint to assist support stiffness. The Ioniq 6 additionally makes use of low-noise tires, a carpet/ground that’s decoupled from the construction, and numerous sound-absorbing supplies. Acoustic glass is used for the windshield and entrance and aspect door glass, and easy shielding retains the underbody freed from turbulence.  2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 first drive – South Korea 4 ranges of regenerative braking, all steering-wheel paddle-selected, plus easily blended brakes make it simple to seek out the most effective expertise for every driver.  An Auto Maintain mode merely toggles on and off with its personal button, permitting drivers to present the brake pedal a relaxation in site visitors as desired. Hyundai additionally offers Eco, Regular, Sport, and Snow modes, as with the Ioniq 5, however new to the Ioniq 6 is an EV Tune-up function that permits the proprietor to tweak extra of the settings individually—together with steering, acceleration sensitivity, and horsepower.  As I examined the Ioniq 6, it seemingly has a curb weight of round 4,500 lb, which is a number of hundred kilos heavier than the Mannequin 3 Lengthy Vary.  Tech, a few of it inbound My take a look at automotive—truly, all of the take a look at vehicles—had a tech merchandise that received’t come to the U.S.: camera-based aspect rearview mirrors. With screens mounted on the fringe of the sprint, on wings that prolonged upward from it. The setup offers drivers a wider angle of view than commonplace rearview mirrors. I discovered it loads simpler to get used to than the screen-based heart rearview mirrors supplied in ...

Dogecoin Price Predictions Now Bullish As Elon Musk Twitter Takeover Back On? Cryptonews
Dogecoin Price Predictions Now Bullish As Elon Musk Twitter Takeover Back On? – Cryptonews https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/dogecoin-price-predictions-now-bullish-as-elon-musk-twitter-takeover-back-on-cryptonews/ The Dogecoin price is up almost 9% today as Elon Musk’s Twitter acquisition is back on the table. Will Dogecoin recover to its 2021 highs though? Latest Elon Musk SEC Filing A letter sent to Twitter’s lawyers from ‘the Musk parties’ on the sec.gov website states: Gentlemen: On behalf of X Holdings I, Inc., X Holdings II, Inc. and Elon R. Musk (the “Musk Parties”), we write to notify you that the Musk Parties intend to proceed to closing of the transaction contemplated by the April 25, 2022 Merger Agreement. Twitter shares have also pumped on the news, more so than DOGE – could cryptocurrency be lagging behind stocks, and the DOGE price be set to rise higher? The Twitter share price closed the Tuesday session up 22%, at $52.05. Elon Musk is set to buy Twitter at $54.20 per share, for $44 billion. Twitter Investor Relations (@TwitterIR) has today confirmed the deal: Dogecoin Price Prediction Dogecoin now is trading at around $0.065, having hit an intraday high of just over $0.066 at press time. Dogecoin is still down approximately 92% from its all time high of $0.74 hit shortly before Elon Musk appeared on Saturday Night Live to discuss the popular meme coin, in May 2021. DogeCoin price history – monthly chart via Binance Despite that 18 month bear market, Dogecoin still commands a $8.7 billion market capitalization, the largest meme token in the crypto market. Its closest competitor Shiba Inu has a market cap of $6.3 billion, and new meme coin Tamadoge recently rose 1,870% from its token presale to hit an over $150 million market cap, overtaking Baby Doge Coin and Dogelon Mars. With its high market cap, and being an inflationary asset, Dogecoin may struggle to recover. Every Elon Musk tweet or news event that previously caused a Dogecoin price pump – such as Tesla accepting DOGE for merchandise purchases, and later SpaceX – has fully retraced. Conservative investors may wish to wait to see if this latest Dogecoin price rally can really spark a new uptrend. Fom a technical analysis standpoint, that would mean higher lows and higher highs being printed on a high-timeframe (HTF) chart. On the weekly chart, if the DOGE price can start closing candles above $0.089, the market structure would then flip bullish. Notably one of the best crypto traders on Twitter, TraderSZ, opened a long position targetting that level last week when the Dogecoin price was $0.06. From a macro standpoint, little indicates a long term price reversal yet even with the weekly candle up 11.6%. TraderSZ tends to take short term trades within a sideways range. Is Dogecoin a Good Investment Now? Every short term Dogecoin pump has been an opportunity for high R:R short in 2022 – even down 92%, DOGE has little utility and an infinite supply so has room to keep declining. Another noted trader Altcoin Sherpa is now considering a Dogecoin short from the current levels, since this latest Elon Musk related move. His current Dogecoin price prediction is bearish. As Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev tweeted earlier this year, Dogecoin fails to compete with a standard debit card transaction as a means of exchange and payment. One speculation among Dogecoin holders is that once Elon Musk owns Twitter, DOGE could become the social media platform’s ‘native currency’ – however the billionaire is yet to lay out any roadmap for that. Read our full Dogecoin price prediction post for a closer look at the Dogecoin price history, more TA and fundamental analysis, and some possible bullish forecasts. Also see our recent Tamadoge price prediction, a potential ‘Dogecoin killer’ which is deflationary with a low fixed supply and strong growth potential, highlighted yesterday in Cointelegraph. We first reviewed TAMA in our crypto presales section, and since its 18x price rise we have also added additional token presale reviews, including IMPT token.

Absentee Voting Week Is October 1-8 2022 US Embassy And Consulates In Japan
Absentee Voting Week Is October 1-8, 2022 – US Embassy And Consulates In Japan https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/absentee-voting-week-is-october-1-8-2022-us-embassy-and-consulates-in-japan/ Be an Active Voter by taking the necessary steps to vote in the 2022 U.S. elections and participating in Absentee Voting Week! In some states voter registration and ballot request deadlines for the November 2022 are as early as October 5th. Whether you are a first-time voter or have already received ballots and voted absentee in past elections, we recommend that you complete a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) each year to ensure you are able to participate in elections as an overseas absentee voter. If you have already completed a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) in 2022 and requested electronic delivery of your ballot, you will be receiving your blank ballot or instructions for how to access your ballot soon if you have not already received it. If you are not sure about the status of your absentee ballot request you should contact your local election officials in the United States or check the status of your registration via your state’s voter registration verification website. The U.S. Embassy can assist voters in Japan with mailing ballots and voting materials back to their voting officials in the United States. Instructions are available on our website here. If you plan to vote but have not yet mailed your absentee ballot, please do not delay. Help Spread the Word about Overseas Voting Please help spread the word to your friends, family, and colleagues that now is the time to start thinking about overseas voting. Consider posting to your Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or other social media account that you are an active voter and will be submitting or mailing your Federal Post Card Application or completed ballot. Use #ProudOverseasVoter to help get the word out about voting. If you have never voted while overseas before, it is not too late. The process is easy – just follow these steps: Complete a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA). Whether you are a first-time voter or have voted absentee in past elections, we recommend that you complete an FPCA to receive your ballot this fall. It allows you to register to vote and request absentee ballots for all elections for federal offices (presidential and state primaries, run-off, special, and the November general elections) during the course of the year in which you submit the FPCA. Local election officials in all U.S. states and territories accept the FPCA. The online voting assistant at FVAP.gov is an easy way to complete the FPCA. It will ask you questions specific to your state and tell you if electronic ballot delivery is possible. No matter which state you vote in, we encourage you to ask your local election officials to deliver your blank ballots to you electronically (by email, internet download, or fax, depending on your state). Be sure to include your email address to take advantage of electronic delivery. The online voting assistant will generate a printable FPCA, which you can then print and sign. Submit the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) The U.S. Embassy can assist voters in Japan with mailing voting materials back to their voting officials in the United States. Instructions are available on our website here. If you plan to vote but have not yet mailed your absentee ballot, please do not delay. You may also send your FPCA or ballot directly to your local election officials via international mail or professional courier service at your own expense. Receive Your Ballot After submitting your FPCA, most states allow you to confirm online your registration and ballot delivery selection. States are now required to send out ballots 45 days before an election (September 24) for federal office (President, U.S. Senate, or U.S. House of Representatives) to any overseas U.S. citizen who has completed an FPCA. Return Your Ballot We recommend that if you plan to return your paper ballot to your election officials via the U.S. Embassy/Consulate, please return your ballot to them by October 8 to account for transit times between overseas posts and local voting districts. For information on using the Embassy to forward your voting materials to the United States, please visit our website. You can download the postage paid envelope from the FVAP.gov website. If there isn’t enough time to receive and send back your ballot before the election, use the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB). It is a backup ballot you can use if you don’t receive your ballot in a timely manner. If your official absentee ballot arrives after sending in the FWAB, fill out and send in the official ballot too. Only one will be counted. After you send in your ballot, you can check if it was received by your election office. Your Vote Counts Many U.S. elections within the past ten years have been decided by a margin of victory of less than 0.1%. All states are required to count every absentee ballot as long as it is valid and reaches local election officials by the absentee ballot receipt deadline (differs by state). Be an educated voter. Check out the FVAP links page for helpful resources that will aid your research of candidates and issues. You can also read national and hometown newspapers online, and search the Internet to locate articles and information. To receive information by email about election dates and deadlines, subscribe to FVAP’s Voting Alerts (vote@fvap.gov). FVAP also shares Voting Alerts via Facebook and Twitter. Stellar Pizza Secures $16.5 Million To Build A Fleet Of Mobile Robot-Making Pizza Restaurants | – Restaurant Technology News https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/stellar-pizza-secures-16-5-million-to-build-a-fleet-of-mobile-robot-making-pizza-restaurants-restaurant-technology-news/ The Stellar Pizza team has created an automated, touchless machine—housed in a huge red food truck—that bakes pizza from scratch, including fresh toppings, in under five minutes. By RTN Staff – 10.4.2022 What do you get when you combine the precision of a rocket scientist with the freshness of a wood-fired pizza? A new food truck concept called Stellar Pizza that is set to launch at the University of Southern California this fall. And while many people may not think of venture capital when they think of Jay-Z, the rap star and business mogul has been quietly building a successful venture capital firm. Marcy Venture Partners is Jay-Z’s VC firm, and it just led a $16.5 million Series A financing round for Stellar Pizza. This brings the total amount of funding raised by Stellar Pizza to $25.5 million. Stellar Pizza is the brainchild of Benson Tsai, a former engineer at SpaceX, and his team of dedicated foodies. Using a custom-built robotic system, the truck will be able to produce a pizza every 45 seconds. Talk about fast food. The Stellar Pizza team has created an automated, touchless machine—housed in a huge red food truck—that bakes pizza from scratch, including fresh toppings, in under five minutes. The technology for the machine was originally designed for large-scale production facilities, but the Stellar Pizza team has adapted it for mobile use. The machine is operated via an app, and it can make up to 420 pizzas in an hour. The process begins with a ball of dough being dispensed from the refrigerator and pressed into a 12” pie. House-made sauce and fresh toppings are added before the pizza is automatically launched into a 900°F oven. Once the pizza is done, a conveyor retrieves it from the oven before it’s cut and boxed. The entire process takes less than five minutes per pizza, making Fresh-n-Fast Pizza the fastest way to get a freshly made pizza on the go. The company was founded in 2019 by a trio of ex-SpaceX engineers, including Tsai, who leads the team alongside Brian Langone and James Wahawisan. Marcy Venture Partners was founded in 2013 and is based in New York City. The firm has invested in a number of startups, including Kairos, an AI-powered platform that helps businesses track their employees’ time; Humin, a dating app that helps people connect based on shared interests; and Jukely, a live music streaming service. With its latest investment in Stellar Pizza, Marcy Venture Partners continues to back innovative companies that are shaking up traditional industries. With more than 30 former SpaceX employees on its team, it’s no surprise that Stellar Pizza has a rocket science background. The company was founded in 2019 by a trio of ex-SpaceX engineers, including Tsai, who leads the team alongside Brian Langone and James Wahawisan. Tapping into the world-class engineering talent that Southern California has to offer, Stellar Pizza is making waves in the pizza industry with its innovative approach to both food and delivery. The culinary division is led by chef Ted Cizma—the former executive chef and director of culinary services at SpaceX—with creative oversight from pizza master Noel Brohner. Stellar Pizza’s business model would appear to be both efficient and cost-effective. The company drives directly to the customer, removing the need for expensive real estate. In addition, labor costs are reduced with the use of compact robotics. With a fleet of mobile pizza restaurants, Stellar Pizza may well be on its way to becoming a nationwide brand.

Reporters Notebook: The Truman Show At The Capitol Fox News
Reporters Notebook: The Truman Show At The Capitol Fox News
Reporter’s Notebook: The Truman Show At The Capitol – Fox News https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/reporters-notebook-the-truman-show-at-the-capitol-fox-news/ It’s well known that Vice President Aaron Burr killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel. But what few Americans know is that President Harry Truman also took out Hamilton. Hamilton wasn’t laid low in a duel. But congressional officials recently moved Hamilton’s statue out of the Capitol rotunda in exchange for a statue of the 33rd president. Hamilton’s statue is now exiled to the Capitol’s “Hall of Columns,” a lengthy, ornate corridor on the first floor of the House wing.  Compared to the rotunda, the Hall of Columns is not exactly “the room where it happens.” WATCH: THE LIFE AND TIMES OF HARRY S. TRUMAN The congressional statue of former President Harry S. Truman is unveiled in the rotunda of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022. (AP Photo/Andrew Harnik) In the Hall of Columns, Hamilton’s company isn’t quite elite as the roster of presidents which line the rotunda. Hamilton’s now in congressional steerage with a statue of Sen. Jacob Collamer of Vermont. Collamer was a prominent member of the Whig party and served as U.S. postmaster general. Nearby is a statue of Sen. John Kenna, D-W.V., who served in the Confederate Army. Finally, there’s a depiction of John Gorrie of Florida. Gorrie’s claim to fame is that he received a patent for a machine to make ice.  That’s one way to give Hamilton the cold shoulder. Alexander Hamilton enjoyed something of a renaissance in recent years thanks to Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway hit. But, as they sing in the musical, “Oceans rise. Empires fall.” And even Hamilton’s recent surge in popularity was no match when up against Truman and a coveted spot in the Capitol rotunda. It’s location, location, location — just like in real estate. Most spaces in the Capitol rotunda are reserved for presidents. George Washington. Thomas Jefferson. Abraham Lincoln. Andrew Jackson. Ulysses S. Grant. James Garfield. Dwight Eisenhower. Gerald Ford. Ronald Reagan.  There are two exceptions. There’s a bust of Martin Luther King Jr. and a massive sculpture titled the “Portrait to Lucretia Mott, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony.” It’s an homage to women’s suffrage. But other than those figures, only the statues of presidents now stand in the rotunda. And as King George III proclaimed in Hamilton about other American presidents, “Next to Washington, they all look small.” Politics dictates there’s no way they would remove King nor the women’s monument. So they dismissed Hamilton. Each of the 50 states get to choose two statues to represent them in the Capitol collection. Missouri’s legislature selected Truman as its statue, dispensing with an 1899 statue of late Sen. Thomas Hart Benton, D-Mo. Known as “Old Bullion,” Benton served in the Senate from 1821 to 1851. But the senator wasn’t even as famous as the painter who bore the same name. Like many statues officials have replaced in the Capitol in recent years, history passed Benton by. Benton also defended slavery. So it’s no surprise that the Show Me State showed Benton the door and opted for Truman. Statue of President Harry Truman in the U.S. Capitol (Chad Pergram) Benton’s statue never stood in the Capitol rotunda. His depiction resided in Statuary Hall, the old House chamber. So they traded Benton for Truman and Hamilton for Truman. As they say in Major League Baseball, Hamilton was “designated for assignment.” And — click, boom — Hamilton was demoted from the Capitol rotunda to the Hall of Columns. Down in the Hall of Columns, Hamilton’s edifice now stands next to a sculpture of late Sen. Pat McCarran, D-Nev. McCarran was a key figure in the creation of the U.S. Air Force. The airport in Las Vegas was named after McCarran until recently. Nevada officials renamed the airport after late Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev. McCarran co-authored the famous “McCarran-Ferguson Act.” The law created a carve out for insurance firms from federal regulations. But McCarran was also a notorious racist. There’s been chatter for years about swapping out McCarran’s statue.  Despite his downgrade, the 1868 statue of Hamilton might tell you he’s not “throwing away my shot,” much like the title character in the play. LONG-MISSING ALEXANDER HAMILTON LETTER PUT ON PUBLIC DISPLAY Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., hinted he’d like to see Hamilton back in the rotunda. The New York Democrat conferred with Senate Rules Committee Chairwoman Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., about the decision to switch out Hamilton for Truman. The Senate Rules Committee is one panel in charge of placement of statues in the Capitol.  There’s a line in the musical that is prophetic about Hamilton and the other Founding Fathers. It speaks to Hamilton’s relegation on Capitol Hill. “You have no control. Who lives who dies. Who tells your story,” the chorus sings.  The hagiography of Washington, Jefferson and James Madison overshadowed Hamilton — especially since Aaron Burr cut his life short in the duel. Despite his presence on the $10 bill, Hamilton was banished to the back pages of U.S. history until Ron Chernow authored his biography in 2004. Miranda magnified Hamilton’s legacy from there with his Tony-winning musical in 2015.  But Hamilton’s most prominent place in the American political experience was at the very center of the American political experience: the Capitol rotunda. Until now. Truman’s status as president certainly makes him worthy of his spot in the rotunda. Truman may be more connected to the Capitol than some of his colleagues. He served a decade in the Senate and — as President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s vice president — was president of the Senate. In fact, Truman went from the Senate to vice president to president in fewer than three months after FDR died. The Hall of Columns holds many statues in the U.S. Capitol (Chad Pergram/Fox News) prev next Statue of John Gorrie of Florida in the U.S. Capitol.  (Chad Pergram/Fox News) prev next Statue of late Sen. Jacob Collamer in the Capitol (Chad Pergram/Fox News) prev next Statue of late Sen. Pat McCarran in the Capitol (Chad Pergram/Fox News) Statue of President Harry Truman in the U.S. Capitol (Chad Pergram) Vice presidents frequently presided over daily Senate sessions back in those days. Truman spent much of April 12, 1945 monitoring a Senate debate over a water treaty with Mexico. Toward the end of the afternoon, Truman wandered to a special hideaway office in the Capitol used by House Speaker Sam Rayburn, D-Tex. Rayburn often invited fellow lawmakers to join him in what was called the “Board of Education.” They’d discuss legislation over libations. Truman was Rayburn’s guest on that day.  But White House press secretary Steve Early interrupted their branch water and bourbon with an urgent phone call, asking Truman to return to the White House as quickly as possible. Truman didn’t know why at the time. FDR had died and Truman was minutes away from becoming president. TEXAS CHURCH TO PAY DAMAGES FOR UNAUTHORIZED ‘HAMILTON’ PRODUCTION THAT ADDED RELIGIOUS THEMES Truman excused himself from the conclave with Rayburn and darted back across the building from the House wing to the vice president’s office on the Senate side of the Capitol. Truman had to collect his hat before he could leave. It was rare in the 1940s to see a man outside without his hat. Ironically, en route to the Senate wing of the Capitol, Truman raced through the Hall of Columns and the very spot where Hamilton’s statue stands today.  Truman’s oldest grandson, Clifton Truman Daniel, spoke at the ceremony dedicating the statue of his grandfather in the rotunda. “Do your duty and history will do you justice,” Daniel said. It’s unclear if Hamilton’s downgrade to the Hall of Columns is permanent. Vancouver Traveller Got Sick From Drinking Alcohol In Bali Vancouver Is Awesome
Vancouver Traveller Got Sick From Drinking Alcohol In Bali – Vancouver Is Awesome https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/vancouver-traveller-got-sick-from-drinking-alcohol-in-bali-vancouver-is-awesome/ A Vancouver couple had a nightmare experience in Bali after they drank alcohol that was laced with methanol.   Twenty-five-year-old Krauzby Rea and his fiancée, 24-year-old Amanda Mawdsley, travelled to the Indonesian province for a vacation in September. The couple had drinks at a resort with 4.5-star reviews and were trying to be careful about what they consumed.  Rea describes himself as an experienced traveller; he says always tries to gather safety advice for the places he’s going to. But he’d never heard of anyone experiencing methanol poisoning — particularly in a nice resort.  On their second night in Bali on Sept. 28, the couple each ordered a cocktail made with gin. They finished the drinks quickly because they wanted to watch a performance outside of the restaurant area of the resort.  “The performance lasted about 15 minutes and immediately after it ended I was in the bathroom violently puking,” Rea tells Vancouver Is Awesome.  While he was feeling terrible, Rea brushed it off at first; he thought he might have a bad case of what some travellers refer to as “Bali belly”: an upset stomach that travellers often get, which is caused by consuming foods, spices, and other things that aren’t part of their regular diet.  After continuing to feel awful, Rea started looking into his condition online. He found a Facebook group entitled “Just Don’t Drink Spirits In Bali” that described his symptoms and why he might be feeling them: methanol poisoning.  Horrified, the Canadian traveller contacted the group’s administrator, Simon, for more information on how he could prevent his symptoms from worsening. While there are a host of negative reactions to consuming methanol, the most severe are blindness and death, according to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.  Simon’s advice might sound shocking, but Rea says it likely saved his life and his eyesight: drink more alcohol.  Bali vacation turns into a nightmare for Vancouver couple The following day the couple each drank several beers in an effort to stop or delay the progression of the methanol poisoning. Mawdsley also had some negative symptoms after she consumed the drink, but they were significantly milder. Still, she says she drank the alcohol out of an abundance of caution because they weren’t sure what had made her sick.  While most people would suggest visiting a hospital before hitting the bottle, the couple wasn’t offered a great deal of help from any of the local medical facilities.  “I ended up going to the hospital because I was in really rough shape,” he explains. “The first hospital didn’t treat me because they weren’t able to test or treat methanol poisoning.” Another hospital about an hour away also denied treating Rea for methanol poisoning, he says. While the second hospital provided him with IV fluids, vitamins, and nausea medication, Rea was very worried about his vision. Initially, he felt “completely drunk” halfway through consuming the poisoned drink. He felt drunk for roughly 15 hours after he ingested it but gradually started to feel sober, except for his eyesight. Rea describes his eyes feeling sore and having a headache, saying the pain had “gotten progressively worse.” The Vancouver couple flew to Seattle on Sunday night and drove back home, cutting their vacation short by about 10 days. An ophthalmologist told Rea that his eyes look completely fine but they will perform some follow-up tests.  While they are both thankful they figured out what was wrong via the Facebook group, Rea says the experience was terrifying.  “When I was going from the first hospital to the second one, I thought like, that was ‘it.’ Like I didn’t make it. I was feeling hopeless. I was blacking out in the vehicle, losing consciousness a lot,” he describes. “And it was to the point where I wrote a goodbye letter on my phone to send people…it was a close call, for sure.” While Rea’s experience was deeply traumatic, he is far from alone. In fact, instances like his aren’t uncommon, with numerous people sharing their experiences of methanol poisoning online. Tragically, many people have died from ingesting tainted alcohol.  Methanol poisoning incidents around the world  In a recent story, a 31-year-old Aussie traveller was photographed in a hospital bed with a bottle of Bacardi, attempting to reverse the effects of methanol poisoning. Between February 23 and May 2, 2020, there were a staggering 5,876 hospitalizations and at least 800 deaths as a result of a contaminated alcohol supply, according to National Geographic. Multiple cases have also been reported in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and even the United States.  %

These Regions Have The Most Untapped Real Estate Potential – 69News WFMZ-TV https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/these-regions-have-the-most-untapped-real-estate-potential-69news-wfmz-tv/ Realm calculated untapped real estate potential in single-family homes to determine which U.S. Census regions have the most value. These regions have the most untapped real estate potential Updated 3 hrs ago Some regions of the U.S. have had hotter housing markets than others, but inflation and higher interest rates have caused a general cooling-off trend in real estate prices. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, homebuilders primarily focused on the South due to relatively cheap land, fewer zoning restrictions, and growing demand for housing. However, changes in zoning laws and new economic developments in other regions may draw developers’ focus away from the South. As trends shift in new housing construction, there is another area in the housing market that shows untapped value in different regions: existing homes. To better understand where homeowners may have hidden real estate value, Realm compared different areas of the country by evaluating possible projects a house could complete, the return on investment associated with these projects, and home values. Looking at more than 88 million single-family homes as of September 2022 data, the research also compares regions by looking at current and potential home value as well as current and buildable square footage. The remaining buildable square feet is calculated by looking at zoning laws and current square feet for each property to determine how much additional space could be added. (Note that home values change based on a number of factors, so these numbers may be subject to changes.) Canva Regions with the most potential value from improvement projects or building additions Updated 3 hrs ago The National Association of Realtors found that sales of houses are decreasing. In its Pending Home Sales Index released on Aug. 24, all of the country’s regions experienced double-digit decreases in the percentage of contract signings compared to the prior year. Housing inventory is on the rise, up 27% from last year. With homes taking longer to sell than in 2021 and interest rates on the rise, many would-be sellers are staying put. Home builders are also curbing their projects due to persistent pandemic-related supply chain issues that have increased building costs to the point where there aren’t enough buyers for new homes. For some homeowners, this has made it more appealing to add value to their existing homes rather than face the uncertainty of the housing market. Realm South Updated 3 hrs ago – Median current value: $303,909 – Median current value per square foot: $179 – Median untapped potential value: $128,628 – Median untapped value per square foot: $59 Over 38% of residents live in the South, nearly 15% more than in the West, which is the next largest region in the country. Population growth is particularly high in Texas and Florida, and while people often flock there for warmer weather, these states are known for lower taxes and less regulation. Construction has also increased in the South. According to the Census Bureau, in 2021, over 917,000 housing permits were issued in the region, accounting for over half of all permits issued in the country. This year, although inflation and higher mortgage interest rates are cooling off the market, the South’s overall housing permits are still up 1.2%, about the same as the Midwest. Meanwhile, the Northeast and West saw negative growth of -3.1% and -1.4%, respectively. Trong Nguyen // Shutterstock Midwest Updated 3 hrs ago – Median current value: $231,277 – Median current value per square foot: $162 – Median untapped potential value: $141,198 – Median untapped value per square foot: $79 In terms of population, the South’s gain has been the Midwest’s loss. From 2010 to 2020, the top four counties in terms of population loss all came from this region. However, several states in this region are gaining recognition as top places to do business, including Minnesota, Ohio, and Michigan, which could help reverse this trend. Ohio recently broke ground on a $20 billion Intel semiconductor manufacturing plant near Columbus, which will require 7,000 workers to build and employ 3,000 when it’s completed in 2025. Its presence is having a trickle-down effect as Intel suppliers aim to set up in the area as well. Some Midwest cities are showing resilience as the housing market slows down. Indianapolis is one that continues to be a target for buyers looking for affordability. Agnieszka Gaul // Shutterstock Northeast Updated 3 hrs ago – Median current value: $392,583 – Median current value per square foot: $235 – Median untapped potential value: $167,116 – Median untapped value per square foot: $78 The Northeast has traditionally been an expensive real estate market. In fact, Massachusetts ranks third in the nation in terms of how much it costs to buy a home and it struggles to keep up with housing demand. However, change may be coming, as a new zoning law will mandate zones for multi-family housing in 175 communities serviced by Boston’s public transportation system. This law could spur development in this area. Vermont has also experienced growth during the pandemic: More people moved to Vermont than to any other state, according to a 2021 United Van Lines survey. haveseen // Shutterstock West Updated 3 hrs ago – Median current value: $614,540 – Median current value per square foot: $365 – Median untapped potential value: $161,390 – Median untapped value per square foot: $109 The real estate market on the West Coast has generally been high for a number of reasons. High-paying jobs in the tech industry have encouraged people to relocate there, and a shortage in housing has driven up prices. Population-dense areas such as San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle are already highly developed, making building on new land remarkably expensive. In California, Proposition 13 and bureaucratic zoning laws also disincentivize new housing development. In recent years, mountain-area states have seen a boom as West Coasters move further inland to find more affordable real estate. Utah is one example of this boom, as it boasts strong job growth and low state and local taxes. Meanwhile, in housing-crunched California, new legislation may loosen some of the historic building restrictions, such as allowing some environmental reviews to be bypassed when building up to 10 homes in certain housing zones. And similar to a law passed in Oregon in 2019, California’s Senate Bill 9 permits property owners to build additional housing units on land zoned for single-family homes, which would allow homeowners to collect rent and increase their property value.  This story originally appeared on Realm and was produced and distributed in partnership with Stacker Studio. The project has repositioned itself as the GENSO metaverse, with the game now being a part of a larger metaverse. The native token, MV, hit a low of $0.20 on Sept. 19 before soaring to $0.26 on Oct. 2. The project had a successful closed beta earlier in the year and is ramping after the second beta launch on Sept. 30. Players will be able to convert mROND earned during the open beta into ROND at the end of the event. mROND is the in-game token, an off-chain token created to optimize game performance. The maximum mROND that can be withdrawn will be 700,000 mROND. Further, the ROND token has been listed on Bybit, the first major exchange to list the token. A source familiar with the matter stated that it is a “milestone for us.” CryptoSlate spoke to the GENSO team, who stated that the listing laid the foundation for the next stage of GENSO’s evolution., “The time has finally come to introduce the worldview we had originally planned. Gensokishi is not just a game. The game is only a part of the bigger picture – The Genso Metaworld.” The concept of the GENSO metaverse is to bring “together the world’s leading IPs, brands, and worldviews from Japan and around the world,” according to the GENSO team. Elemental Knights, the game upon which Gensokishi is based, has been in development for 14 years. A person familiar with the matter told CryptoSlate, “The development company has been in the sector for over 20 years and therefore has connections with Japanese IPs throughout!” Anticipation over whether a new IP may be announced as a part of the GENSO metaverse may be creating buy pressure for the token. The GENSO Discord has received the rebrand well with positive feedback and increased activity. No information regarding future partnerships has been released.

Short Relief Bounce For Altcoins? If Crypto Marketcap Can Do This – NewsBTC https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/short-relief-bounce-for-altcoins-if-crypto-marketcap-can-do-this-newsbtc/ Cryptocurrency market capitalization could be ready to break out from the downtrend as price gears up for a short-term recovery creating more bullish sentiment for the altcoins. Cryptocurrency market capitalization looks strong on both low and high timeframes.  Cryptocurrency market capitalization prepares for a breakout on the daily timeframe after forming a descending triangle. The Crypto Marketcap had had a tough time regaining its hype when the crypto market cap was at its peak of over $2.8 trillion, with most crypto assets performing at their best. The crypto market capitalization also called the crypto market cap, takes in market data from a range of cryptocurrencies — including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Ripple (XRP), and EOSIO network (EOS) — to provide a fuller, real-time picture of how the crypto asset sector is performing. Crypto Market Capitalization Price Analysis On The Weekly Chart Weekly Total Market Cap Price Chart | Source: On Tradingview.com The new month has been a relief for most crypto projects, with altcoins such as BTC, ETH, and even XRP, with the market cap, continues to look promising ahead of a major rally.   With the market having a rally to an all-time of over $2.9 trillion, this positively impacted the price of altcoins and major assets as the market found itself in a blooming phase with so much euphoria. After hitting over $2.9 trillion market cap, the price declined from that region, acting as resistance or blown-off top as the price struggles to regain its form. It dropped to a region of $774 billion market cap seeing a huge sell-off in assets across the crypto market. The market cap bounced from its weekly low of $774 billion as the price rallied to a region of $1.17 before facing resistance to breaking above this region as the price retraced to $850 billion as the price formed a good support zone with what seemed to be a key demand zone for buy orders across the market. In recent weeks, the price of assets in the crypto market has not shown some strength as prices rally, showing some glimpses of relief bounce. Clauser and Anton Zeilinger were recognized for conducting experiments concerning quantum entanglement, a phenomenon that occurs when two particles behave as one, even when separated.CreditCredit…Jonas Ekstromer/TT News Agency, via Associated Press Oct. 4, 2022Updated 7:00 p.m. ET Three physicists whose works each showed that nature is even weirder than Einstein had dared to imagine have been named winners of the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics. John Clauser, of J.F. Clauser and Associates in Walnut Creek, Calif.; Alain Aspect of the Institut d’Optique in Palaiseau, France; and Anton Zeilinger of the University of Vienna in Austria, will split a prize of 10 million Swedish kronor. Their independent works explored the foundations of quantum mechanics, the paradoxical rules that govern behavior in the subatomic world. In experiments conducted over the last 50 years, they confirmed the reality of an effect that Albert Einstein had disdained as “spooky action at a distance.” Measuring one of a widely separated pair of particles could instantaneously change the results of measuring the other particle, even if it was light-years away. Today, physicists call this strange effect quantum entanglement, and it is the basis of the burgeoning field of quantum information. When the award winners were announced on Tuesday, Eva Olsson, a member of the Nobel Committee for Physics, noted that quantum information science had broad implications in areas like cryptography and quantum computing. Quantum information science is a “vibrant and rapidly developing field,” she said. “Its predictions have opened doors to another world, and it has also shaken the very foundation of how we interpret measurements.” As Daniel Kabat, a physics professor at Lehman College in New York, explained recently, “We’re used to thinking that information about an object — say that a glass is half full — is somehow contained within the object.” Instead, he says, entanglement means objects “only exist in relation to other objects, and moreover these relationships are encoded in a wave function that stands outside the tangible physical universe.” In a conversation with the Nobel committee Tuesday morning, Dr. Aspect said he had been looking for a limit on quantum mechanics but had not found it. “I am accepting in my mental images something which is totally crazy,” he said. Quantum mechanics arose in the early decades of the 20th century, a period often called the Second Scientific Revolution, as scientists tried to understand the inner lives of atoms. Its centerpiece was the uncertainty principle, enunciated by Werner Heisenberg in 1927, which states that certain types of knowledge — of a particle’s position and velocity, for example — are incompatible: The more precisely one property is measured, the blurrier and more uncertain the other becomes. Einstein, though one of the founders of quantum theory, rejected it, saying famously, God did not play dice with the universe. In a 1935 paper written with Boris Podolsky and Nathan Rosen, he tried to demolish quantum mechanics as an incomplete theory by pointing out that by quantum rules, measuring a particle in one place could instantly affect measurements of the other particle, even if it was millions of miles away. This was a philosophical argument about the nature of reality until 1964, when John Stewart Bell, a theoretical physicist at CERN who also was skeptical about the claims of quantum mechanics, described — but did not perform — an experiment that could test whether Einstein or quantum mechanics was right. What to Know About the Nobel Prizes Card 1 of 7 What are the prizes? Six Nobel Prizes are awarded every year, each recognizing an individual’s or organization’s groundbreaking contribution to a specific field. Prizes are given for physiology or medicine, physics, chemistry, economic science, literature and peace work. When were the awards established? The Nobel Prizes were established after the death of Alfred Nobel, the Swedish inventor of dynamite and other explosives, in 1896. In his will, Nobel bequeathed the bulk of his fortune to create five annual prizes honoring ingenuity. What do the winners receive? Nobel Prize laureates receive a Nobel Prize diploma, a Nobel Prize medal and a monetary award, which for 2022 is 10 million Swedish krona, or about $900,000 according to current exchange rates, for a full prize. How do the nominations work? Eligible nominators,  which include university professors, scientists, members of national governments and previous Nobel Prize laureates, submit the names of potential candidates each year. Nominations for 2022 had to be submitted by Jan. 31. Who selects the winners? Four separate institutions are responsible for picking the winners: the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences for the Nobel Prizes in Physics and Chemistry, the Karolinska Institute for the Nobel Prize in Medicine, the Swedish Academy for the Nobel Prize in Literature, and a committee of five people elected by the Norwegian Parliament for the Nobel Peace Prize. Isn’t there a prize for economics? Yes, but it is technically not a Nobel Prize. The Bank of Sweden Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel was not among the awards originally stipulated in Nobel’s will. The economics prize was established by the Bank of Sweden in 1968; the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has been selecting the winners since 1969. Dr. Clauser, who has a knack for electronics and experimentation and misgivings about quantum theory, was the first to perform Bell’s proposed experiment. He happened upon Dr. Bell’s paper while a graduate student at Columbia University and recognized it as something he could do. In 1972, using duct tape and spare parts in the basement on the campus of the University of California, Berkeley, Dr. Clauser and a graduate student, Stuart Freedman, who died in 2012, endeavored to perform Bell’s experiment to measure quantum entanglement. In a series of experiments, he fired thousands of light particles, or photons, in opposite directions to measure a property known as polarization, which could have only two values — up or down. The result for each detector was always a series of seemingly random ups and downs. But when the two detectors’ results were compared, the ups and downs matched in ways that neither “classical physics” nor Einstein’s laws could explain. Something weird was afoot in the universe. Entanglement seemed to be real. At the time, most physicists weren’t interested in arguing about the meaning of quantum mechanics, as they were busy using it to build atomic bombs and transistors. “Clauser got a lot of pushback from scientists who didn’t think this was even part of science,” said David Kaiser, a professor of physics and the history of science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and author of “How the Hippies Saved Physics: Science, Counterculture, and the Quantum Revival.” “He had to have a lot of stick-to-itiveness to publish his result,” Dr. Kaiser said on Tuesday. Image John F. Clauser, with his second quantum entanglement experiment, at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1975.Credit…Steve Gerber/Berkeley Lab, via Associated Press In an interview with the American Institute of Physics in 2002, Dr. Clauser admitted that he himself had expected quantum mechanics to be wrong and Einstein to be right. “Obviously, we got the ‘wrong’ result. I had no choice but to report what we saw, you know, ‘Here’s the result.’ But it contradicts what I believed in my gut has to be true.” He added, “I hoped we would overthrow quantum mechanics. Everyone else thought, ‘John, you’re totally nuts.’” The catch in Dr. Clauser’s discovery and the quantum mechanical description of this spooky action was that the correlations only showed up after the measurements of the individual particles, when the physicists compared their results after the fact. Entanglement seemed real, but it could not be used to communicate information faster than the speed of light. Dr. Clauser spent much of the decade worrying about what loopholes he might have overlooked. One possibility, which was called the locality loophole, was that the laboratory instruments might have been leaking information to each other. Enter Dr. Aspect, who is now a professor at Université Paris-Saclay, in Paris, and École Polytechnique in Palaiseau, France. In the 1970s, on the way to his doctorate, he spent three years performing his national service requirement by teaching in Cameroon, boning up on quantum mechanics in his spare time. In an interview with the Nobel committee, he said he had returned to France ready to tackle the challenge posed by Dr. Bell’s work. In 1982, Dr. Aspect and his team at the University of Paris tried to outfox Dr. Clauser’s loophole by switching the direction along which the photons’ polarizations were measured every 10 nanoseconds, while the photons were already in the air and too fast for them to communicate with each other. He too, was expecting Einstein to be right. Dr. Aspect’s results put entanglement on the map as a real phenomenon that physicists and engineers could use. Quantum predictions held true, but there were still more possible loopholes in the Bell experiment that Dr. Clauser had identified and which needed to be closed before quantum physicists could declare victory over Einste...

Loretta Lynn Died At Her Beloved Tennessee Ranch: All About Her Famous Home And How To Visit – PEOPLE https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/loretta-lynn-died-at-her-beloved-tennessee-ranch-all-about-her-famous-home-and-how-to-visit-people/ Country music legend Loretta Lynn died Tuesday morning at her home in Tennessee. The property, simply dubbed Loretta Lynn‘s Ranch, is located in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. In addition to being the late singer’s private home, it’s also evolved into a tourist destination for her many fans — and one of the largest in the state. It spans over 3,000 acres and offers a myriad of activities for visitors. According to the attraction’s website, lodging is flexible; campgrounds on the rural landscape include several RV spots, along with areas that accommodate tent camping. Camping rates range from $25 to $45 per night depending on the type you choose. Visitors can call the ranch to book any type of stay or activity. For those opting for an indoor stay, Loretta Lynn’s Ranch also offers cabins, which house four to eight people. The accommodations include everything a typical hotel room would, including linens, a coffee maker, microwave, television, refrigerator and more. Also only bookable over the phone, cabin rates start at $110.25 per night. While touring the grounds, visitors can pop into different museums on the property, including the Doll and Fan Museum, which exhibits the many dolls and gifts fans sent to Lynn throughout her career. Another spot, the Native American Artifact Museum, honors her heritage by displaying over 5,000 relics and special pieces. Perhaps one of the most fascinating places guests can explore is a replica of the Butcher Holler, Kentucky, home where she grew up. The space, which captures details like childhood keepsakes and vintage wallpaper, was designed to resemble the modest home that still exists in Kentucky. An 1800s Grist Mill and dam is a centerpiece of the ranch. Lynn was the daughter of a coal miner, and the Grist Mill’s museum and shop offer souvenirs like Kentucky coal mementos. The admission rate for a full tour is $35 per person, while a home-only or museum-only tour is $20. Children under 10 can enjoy any tour for free. Loretta Lynn’s Ranch hosts an array of events on the property, including seasonal chuck wagon races, holiday concerts and horseback trail rides. The ranch is also home to the nation’s largest Amateur Motocross race, per the official Tennessee vacation website. Lynn often posted photos of her beloved ranch on Instagram, including the snowy scene outside her home in February, below. “We’ve had some beautiful snow here recently. I love this picture of the big house that my right-hand man, Tim, captured. Y’all gotta come visit the ranch sometime. It’s paradise to me,” she wrote in the caption. RELATED GALLERY: Loretta Lynn’s Life in Photos On Tuesday, the international star’s family shared that her ranch is where she died at age 90. “Our precious mom, Loretta Lynn, passed away peacefully this morning, Oct. 4, in her sleep at home in her beloved ranch in Hurricane Mills,” her family said in a statement. Married at 15 to a moonshine runner six years her senior, Oliver “Doolittle” Lynn, Loretta was a mother of four by the time she turned 20. She started writing songs on a $17 guitar her husband bought her and singing in honkytonks to make extra money. In 1960, she signed her first record deal and released her first single, “I’m a Honky Tonk Girl.” A string of Top 10 hits followed: “Don’t Come Home A’ Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ on Your Mind),” “You Ain’t Woman Enough (To Take My Man),” “Fist City.” Many were inspired by her own marital woes. “I went through a lot and I put up with a lot,” Lynn told PEOPLE in 2010. “Every song I wrote came from my heart.” %

Stocks Rise In Extended Rally, Clawing Back More Ground – 69News WFMZ-TV https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/stocks-rise-in-extended-rally-clawing-back-more-ground-69news-wfmz-tv/ NEW YORK (AP) — The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed more than 800 points and the S&P 500 had its best day in more than two years Tuesday as the market clawed back more of the ground it lost in a miserable several weeks on Wall Street. The S&P 500 rose 3.1%, its best day since May 2020, as all but five of the stocks in the index notched gains. The benchmark index has been rallying since hitting its lowest point of the year on Friday to close out a September slump. Twitter surged 22.2% after Elon Musk said he would go ahead with his $44 billion acquisition of the social media company, abandoning months of efforts to get out of the deal. The Dow rose 2.8% and the Nasdaq composite climbed 3.3%. Small company stocks also made solid gains, lifting the Russell 2000 3.9% higher. European and Asian markets also rose broadly. The market’s gains come as major indexes remain in a bear market after falling 20% or more from their most recent record highs. The two-day rally is hitting markets as investors look for signs that central banks might ease up on their aggressive rate hikes aimed at taming the hottest inflation in four decades. Australia’s central bank made an interest rate hike that was smaller than previous ones and that helped Australia’s market jump 3.8%. It is a potentially positive signal for investors, along with the latest jobs data from the U.S. Investors in the U.S. received potentially encouraging news from a government report on job openings that showed the number of available jobs in the U.S. plummeted in August compared with July. It’s a sign that businesses may pull back further on hiring and potentially cool chronically high inflation. The optimism could be misguided as inflation remains stubbornly hot, said John Lynch, chief investment officer for Comerica Wealth Management. “Investors should be worried about false positives,” he said. “Be wary of the history of bear market rallies, they can be very seductive.” Major indexes could be in store for more declines ahead, he said, as more economic data and the next round of earnings reports paints a clearer picture of how inflation continues to impact business operations and consumer spending. The S&P 500 rose 112.50 points to 3,790.93, while the Dow gained 825.43 points to close at 30,316.32. The Nasdaq rose 360.97 points to 11,176.41 and the Russell 2000 added 66.90 points at 1,775.77. Treasury yields continued to pull back from their multiyear highs, which has helped relieve some of the pressure on stocks. The yield on the 10-year Treasury, which helps set rates for mortgages and many other kinds of loans, slipped to 3.64% from 3.65% late Monday. It got as high as 4% last week after starting the year at just 1.51%. The yield on the two-year Treasury, which more closely tracks expectations for Federal Reserve action, fell to 4.10% from 4.12% late Monday. The market was mostly quiet with company news ahead of the next round of corporate earnings. Cruise line operators were among the biggest gainers in the S&P 500. Norwegian Cruise Line jumped 16.8%, Royal Caribbean surged 16.7% and Carnival gained 13.3%. Investors are watching closely as central banks raise interest rates to make borrowing more difficult and slow economic growth to try to tame inflation. Investors are hoping that they will eventually ease off their aggressive rate hikes and the move by Australia’s central bank is a hopeful sign for some. Wall Street is worried that the rate hikes, especially the increases from the Fed, could go too far in slowing growth and send economies into a recession. The Fed has already pushed its key overnight interest rate to a range of 3% to 3.25%, up from virtually zero as recently as March. Economic growth is already slowing globally and the U.S. economy contracted during the first two quarters of the year, which is considered an informal signal of a recession. The economy still has several strong pockets, including employment. Wall Street will get a more detailed look at the employment situation in the U.S. this week, with a report on hiring by private companies due out Wednesday, the latest tally of weekly applications for unemployment benefits on Thursday and the government’s monthly jobs report for September on Friday. If those reports point to a still strong job market, that could trigger a bond market sell-off, which would weigh on stocks, said Jay Hatfield, CEO of Infrastructure Capital Advisors. “All those could hit the stock market because right now the bond market is really driving the stock market,” he said. Consulate Bridges Health Gap In Mexican Immigrant Community – WANE https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/consulate-bridges-health-gap-in-mexican-immigrant-community-wane/ Binational Health Week stresses prevention, education among population often uninsured and in need of care EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – Some 200 El Paso residents got free health screenings, flu and COVID-19 booster shots Tuesday at the Mexican consulate. It was part of Binational Health Week, which for the past 22 years has bridged the gap between local health providers and the immigrant community. “Basically, what we do here is take their blood pressure, offer different tests so if they have any problems, they can be referred to low-cost clinics or hospitals or we can help them navigate the insurance system,” said Consul General Mauricio Ibarra Ponce de Leon. Twenty-one El Paso hospitals, nonprofits and insurance companies are partnering with the consulate to promote healthy living. The El Paso Food Bank donated 200 boxes with food staples that were distributed to participants in a Tuesday health fair in the consulate’s parking lot. Ibarra said talks about cancer, high blood pressure, mental health and others would take place throughout the month in Spanish online and in-person at the consulate. The U.S. Census July 2021 population estimate shows that nearly one in four El Paso County residents were foreign-born, and that 69.8 percent speak a language other than English at home. Those numbers make the consulate a key player in community health education. “We need to raise awareness of the importance of having good physical and mental health and that everybody knows they can reach out to a health provider regardless if they have insurance or not,” Ibarra said. All of Mexico’s 50 consulates in the United States are observing Binational Health Week, though some may have it on a different date. Maria Estrada (Border Report photo) Maria Estrada, a Mexican national who says she has lived in El Paso for many years, was among the first in line at the screening tents. “I’m here for the tests, medical insurance information, everything they have here,” she said. Others came for the flu and COVID-19 shots and the free foodstuffs. “This is the first time I come to these fairs. I came here for the flu vaccine. I have all the COVID vaccines and all,” said Ana Lilia Perez.

Aaron Judge Chasing Home Run Record: Yankees Slugger Fails To Hit HR No. 62 In Win Over Rangers – CBS Sports https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/aaron-judge-chasing-home-run-record-yankees-slugger-fails-to-hit-hr-no-62-in-win-over-rangers-cbs-sports/ New York Yankees slugger and AL MVP favorite Aaron Judge remains stuck on 61 home runs with two games to play. Judge went 1 for 5 in Game 1 of Tuesday’s doubleheader against the Texas Rangers (NYY 5, TEX 4) and is 3 for 17 with five walks (one intentional) and seven strikeouts since hitting his 61st home run last Wednesday. Judge showed some frustration after popping up a hanging slider in the fifth inning. He has gotten several good pitches to hit in recent days without a home run to show for it. Prior to Tuesday afternoon’s game Yankees manager Aaron Boone indicated Judge would play Game 2 of the doubleheader if he did not hit his 62nd home run in Game 1. The Yankees have already clinched the AL East title and a Wild Card Series bye, and have been resting their regular players in recent days. Judge, however, has started 55 straight games. Judge’s 61 home runs are of course tied with Roger Maris for the most in a single season in American League history. Maris slugging 61 homers 61 years ago with the 1961 Yankees. Here is the AL’s single-season home run leaderboard: Aaron Judge, 2022 Yankees: 61 and counting Roger Maris, 1961 Yankees: 61 Babe Ruth, 1927 Yankees: 60 Babe Ruth, 1921 Yankees: 59 Hank Greenberg, 1938 Tigers: 58 Jimmie Foxx, 1932 Athletics: 58 Judge became the sixth player in history with a 60-homer season on Sept. 20 and he tied Maris with his 61st homer on Sept. 28. Only Barry Bonds (73 in 2001), Mark McGwire (70 in 1998 and 65 in 1999) and Sammy Sosa (66 in 1998, 64 in 2001 and 63 in 1999) have hit more home runs in a season than Judge, and they all played in the National League. If Judge does play Game 2 of Tuesday’s doubleheader, he will face lefty Kolby Allard, who has spent most of the season in Triple-A. Judge is 1 for 3 with a home run against Allard in his career. Rafael Henrique | SOPA Images | Lightrocket | Getty Images S. Daniel Leon, co-founder and chief strategy officer of bankrupt crypto lending platform Celsius, has stepped down, according to people familiar with the matter and an internal memo viewed by CNBC. Leon’s departure was announced on Tuesday. His exit comes a week after the company’s CEO, Alex Mashinsky, submitted a letter of resignation. Lior Koren, previously the company’s global tax director, is taking over and will be operating out of Israel, the email said. Celsius confirmed Leon’s resignation in an email to CNBC. Celsius, which is based Hoboken, New Jersey, made headlines in June after it froze customer accounts during the so-called crypto winter and an industrywide liquidity crunch. Prior to the freeze, Celsius was one of the largest crypto lending platforms with more than $8 billion in loans to clients and almost $12 billion in assets under management. The firm had attracted 1.7 million customers by offering yields as high as 17% on crypto deposits. Behind the scenes, Celsius would lend customer funds out to hedge funds and others willing to pay an even higher yield. It also invested in other high-risk cryptocurrency projects, according to internal documents shared with CNBC. Celsius filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in July with a $1.2 billion hole in its balance sheet.

Republican U.S. Senate Hopeful Herschel Walker Denies Report He Paid For Abortion – Reuters https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/republican-u-s-senate-hopeful-herschel-walker-denies-report-he-paid-for-abortion-reuters/ WASHINGTON, Oct 4 (Reuters) – Republican U.S. Senate candidate Herschel Walker, who has said he opposes abortion with no exceptions, has denied a media report that he paid for a girlfriend’s abortion in 2009. Walker, who aims to unseat Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock in Georgia, was responding to a Monday report by The Daily Beast that said the candidate’s then-girlfriend provided a receipt, a copy of the check and a get-well card given to her by the former football star endorsed by former President Donald Trump. “This is a flat-out lie – and I deny this in the strongest possible terms,” Walker, 60, said in a statement late Monday. Register now for FREE unlimited access to Reuters.com Matt Fuller, an editor at the publication, said it stood by its report, which Reuters could not independently confirm. The report comes two weeks before early voting begins in Georgia, one of several critical races that will determine whether Democrats hold onto their narrow majority in the chamber. It is the latest scandal for Walker, a first-time candidate for office who has also faced allegations of domestic violence. Trump and Republican Senator Rick Scott of Florida, who chairs the Senate Republican campaign arm, rallied to Walker’s defense on Tuesday and accused Democrats of trying to smear their candidate. Former NFL player Herschel Walker speaks by video feed during the largely virtual 2020 Republican National Convention broadcast from Washington, U.S. August 24, 2020. 2020 Republican National Convention/Handout via REUTERS “They have cranked up the smear machine,” Scott said in a statement. Trump, who has faced sexual accusations from women, said Walker was being slandered. “Herschel has properly denied the charges against him, and I have no doubt he is correct,” he said in a statement. But one of Walker’s sons, 23-year-old conservative social media influencer Christian Walker, blasted his father following Monday’s report. “Family values, people? He has four kids, four different women, wasn’t in the house raising one of them. He was out having sex with other women,” he said in a video aimed at conservative voters. “Y’all should care about that, conservatives.” Herschel Walker later said on Twitter: “I LOVE my son no matter what.” Abortion looms large ahead of the Nov. 8 midterm elections. Walker opposes abortion, including for rape, incest or to protect the health or life of the mother. Warnock, who serves as pastor at the Atlanta church once led by Martin Luther King Jr., backs access to abortion and other reproductive health care, saying on his campaign website that the U.S. Supreme Court’s June decision to overturn Roe v. Wade “cannot stand.” Register now for FREE unlimited access to Reuters.com Reporting by Susan Heavey and David Morgan; Editing by Scott Malone, Lisa Shumaker and Jonathan Oatis Our Standards: The Thomson Reuters Trust Principles.

New Cyberpunk And Witcher Video Games Announced By CD Projekt The Washington Post
New Cyberpunk And Witcher Video Games Announced By CD Projekt The Washington Post
New Cyberpunk And Witcher Video Games Announced By CD Projekt – The Washington Post https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/new-cyberpunk-and-witcher-video-games-announced-by-cd-projekt-the-washington-post/ CD Projekt, the Polish publisher behind “Cyberpunk 2077” and The Witcher video game series, announced a leadership change and a slew of new games Tuesday, including a new Cyberpunk game, a new Witcher trilogy and a new game based around CD Projekt’s first original property. Co-founder Marcin Iwiński also announced that he would step down from his role as joint-CEO and submit his candidacy for chairman of CD Projekt’s supervisory board via Twitter. In a thread on Twitter, the company revealed three new projects set in The Witcher universe. Project Polaris, the start of a new trilogy for The Witcher franchise, is in preproduction at its development studio, CD Projekt RED, with the ambitious goal of releasing the next two games in the trilogy within six years after Polaris’s release. Project Sirius will be an “innovative” multiplayer title, and is in preproduction at another subsidiary, Molasses Flood, with support from CD Projekt RED. Project Canis Majoris will be a single-player, open-world RPG contracted to an unnamed third-party studio led by veteran developers of The Witcher series. Project Orion is described as a sequel to “Cyberpunk 2077” that “will prove the full power and potential of the Cyberpunk universe,” reads the company’s announcement. Orion’s development will be spearheaded by the company’s new North American studio, CD Projekt North America. The company also plans to release an expansion for “Cyberpunk 2077,” titled “Phantom Liberty,” next year. The final announced project, Hadar, is CD Projekt’s first original IP. Hadar had been brainstormed for a few years, but didn’t start its conceptual phase until a small incubation team was assigned to it last year. CD Projekt described its strategy in greater detail in a video on its YouTube channel. In the video, CD Projekt Chief Financial Officer Piotr Nielubowicz said the company has been developing two AAA projects in parallel, stating that the ability to work on several titles in tandem is “crucial to our future growth.” He also revealed CD Projekt RED will be using Epic Games’ Unreal engine moving forward, replacing the in-house REDengine the studio has used since 2011’s “The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.” “A key strategy decision was forming a long-term partnership with Epic Games,” Nielubowicz said. “Unreal engine will be the technology which we will build upon to deliver our creative vision, CD Projekt RED’s unique style and exceptional quality in open-world storytelling.” To bolster CD Projekt’s ambitions, the company touted the acquisitions of developers CD Projekt Vancouver (formerly known as Digital Scapes) and Molasses Flood in Boston. The two studios combined to form the company’s latest regional branch, CD Projekt North America. There have also been two new appointments to CD Projekt’s board: Chief Technology Officer and Head of Production Pawel Zawodny, and Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Franchise Development Jeremiah Cohn. CD Projekt President and joint-CEO Adam Kiciński said in the strategy video that the company has more than 700 developers (and over 1,100 workers in total) across its studios. The company laid out a road map for all its announced products along with a burgeoning multimedia vision for its IPs. CD Projekt will also invest more deeply into broadening the reach of their existing franchises. The company referred to this strategy as the franchise flywheel, which CD Projekt Senior Vice President of Business Development Michał Nowakowski described in the video as “an ecosystem of comic books, TV, film, animation, merchandise and spinoff games we are building around our IPs.” The success of the Netflix anime “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners” was a much needed win for the company after the disastrous launch of “Cyberpunk 2077” in 2020. It released in an unfinished state after years of delays, crunch and allegations of workplace abuse. The game was also criticized for its portrayal of Asian, transgender and female characters. The bugs were so bad that both Sony and Microsoft announced they would refund copies of “Cyberpunk 2077” bought through their stores. CD Projekt was once praised as one of the most beloved, customer-first publishers in the industry for its firm stance against DRM (digital rights management, which can be restrictive and unwieldy for consumers) in its games and extensive history of releasing free downloadable content. After “Cyberpunk 2077,” CD Projekt was lampooned for months with memes, and became a cautionary tale for the rest of the industry. The company’s objectives, summarized Tuesday, include cultivating three flagship franchises, branching out to multiplayer titles (“Cyberpunk 2077” had a planned multiplayer mode that never made it to release) and more television and film adaptations. “We see CD Projekt as a growing force shaped by our teams taking pride in the games they deliver and bold in their ambitions,” Kiciński said in the strategy update video. “We experiment, innovate and create, and we are still all about reaching for the stars.

High Court Will Hear Social Media Terrorism Lawsuits – Arkansas Business Online https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/high-court-will-hear-social-media-terrorism-lawsuits-arkansas-business-online/ The U.S. Supreme Court building in Washington, D.C. (Shutterstock) WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court said Monday it will hear two cases seeking to hold social media companies financially responsible for terrorist attacks. The cases are seen as an important test of the federal law that generally makes internet companies exempt from liability for the material users post on their networks. In the cases the court agreed to hear, relatives of people killed in terrorist attacks in France and Turkey had sued Google, Twitter, and Facebook. They accused the companies of helping terrorists spread their message and radicalize new recruits. One of the cases was thrown out, mostly under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, while the other was allowed to proceed. The court, which began its new term Monday, is expected to hear arguments in the cases this winter with decisions before the court recesses for the summer, usually in late June. One of the cases the justices will hear involves Nohemi Gonzalez, a 23-year-old U.S. citizen studying in Paris. The Cal State Long Beach student was one of 130 people killed in Islamic State group attacks in November 2015. The attackers struck cafes, outside the French national stadium and inside the Bataclan theater. Gonzalez died in an attack at La Belle Equipe bistro. Gonzalez’s relatives sued Google, which owns YouTube, saying the platform had helped the Islamic State group by allowing it to post hundreds of videos that helped incite violence and recruit potential supporters. Gonzalez’s relatives said that the company’s computer algorithms recommended those videos to viewers most likely to be interested in them. But a judge dismissed the case and a federal appeals court upheld the ruling. The other case the court agreed to hear involves Jordanian citizen Nawras Alassaf. He died in the 2017 attack on the Reina nightclub in Istanbul where a gunman affiliated with the Islamic State killed 39 people. Alassaf’s relatives sued Twitter, Google and Facebook for aiding terrorism, arguing that the platforms helped the Islamic State grow and did not go far enough in trying to curb terrorist activity on their platforms. A lower court let the case proceed. The cases are Reynaldo Gonzalez et al. v Google, 21-1333, and Twitter et al. v Mehier Taamneh, 21-1496. ____ All contents © copyright 2022 Associated Press. Sheikha Moza Opens WISH 2022, Points To Transformative Events To Inspire Individuals – Gulf Times https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/sheikha-moza-opens-wish-2022-points-to-transformative-events-to-inspire-individuals-gulf-times/ Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation (QF) highlighted the need for ‘transformative events to inspire individuals and remind them of the responsibility towards their personal health and their community’ while opening the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) 2022, Tuesday. “There can be no substitute for the essential work done by the medical practitioners, researchers and doctors who deliver quality healthcare to patients worldwide. Nonetheless, there is room for preventative practices that can take place prior to patients seeing their doctors. We look towards transformative events to inspire individuals and remind them of their responsibility towards their personal health and their community,” stressed Sheikha Moza. Welcoming the delegates to WISH Summit, QF’ global healthcare initiative, Sheikha Moza highlighted: “Welcome to the first World Innovation Summit for Health held in-person since 2018. As you well know, in a few weeks’ time, Qatar will also host another international event – the FIFA World Cup. Two core ideas form the strong connection that links our summit to the World Cup: Health and Sports.” “WISH has always been a summit of big ideas. This year our themes are many, with one overarching goal – a search for solutions to enable all of us to live balanced, safe and healthy lives. For instance, how to avoid mental fatigue, burn-out, and unhealthy eating habits. These are fundamental challenges to contemporary society,” explained, Sheikha Moza. “This is where sports and exercise play a huge role, as participation is unlimited by age or class, but open to all. The world of health and fitness is broad, and everyone can find something to suit their interests and capabilities. Sports and fitness can be professions for those with talent, hobbies for those who enjoy them and are necessities for all according to ability,” she continued. The QF chairperson noted that exercise needs to be fundamental part of people’s lives. Sheikha Moza said: “When we make exercise a fundamental part of our lives and a consistent part in our daily routine, we create space for stability and creativity. We need new and innovative ways to encourage patients to become active participants in the healthcare process so that they become our partners in building an effective and robust global healthcare system.” “We can do this by making basic information on health and fitness accessible to everyone – so that while professionals are busy researching pressing healthcare challenges, individuals play their parts by exercising. This may seem obvious, but underscoring the importance of exercise and sport really is at the heart of achieving healthy living for individuals, communities and the world,” pointed out, Sheikha Moza. “Big sporting events always been a source of inspiration, motivating Qatar to host the FIFA World Cup, breathing new life into our country. Events such as these can inspire us all us all, here in Qatar and across the world, to re-build our healthcare systems, making them robust and accessible to all,” Sheikha Moza added.

Dolphins Week 5 Power Rankings Roundup Sports Illustrated

Dolphins Week 5 Power Rankings Roundup – Sports Illustrated https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/dolphins-week-5-power-rankings-roundup-sports-illustrated/ The Miami Dolphins naturally dropped in the national NFL power rankings following their Thursday night loss at Cincinnati, a game marred by the frightening injury sustained by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. But the Dolphins clearly are still held in high regard among the national media, as evidenced by their current ranking at 3-1, where the consensus has them at number 5. In our survey of rankings of 10 national outlets —CBS Sports, NFL.com, The Athletic, The Sporting News, The Ringer, USA Today, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, Yahoo, and Pro Football Talk — the Dolphins were ranked as high as fourth and only NFL.com had them lower than seventh. Here’s the breakdown of the Dolphins’ 10 power rankings spots, along with the commentary associated with it: CBS Sports Ranking: 5 Previous: 2 Analysis: The Tua Tagovailoa situation clouds their fast start. It’s Teddy Bridgewater this week against the Jets, which will be a tougher game than maybe they thought. NFL.com Ranking: 10 Previous: 3 Analysis: The Dolphins lost for the first time this season against the Bengals on Thursday Night Football, but the story after the game surrounded Tua Tagovailoa, and the head and neck injuries that sent him to a Cincinnati-area medical center after a second-quarter sack. Tua was quickly released from the hospital and flew back to Miami with the team, but questions linger about whether the QB should have been on the field at all after his head was slammed to the turf in the Week 3 win over the Bills. The NFL Players Association terminated the unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant involved in Tagovailoa’s concussion check, and changes to the league’s concussion protocol are being implemented. On Monday, Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel ruled Tua out of Sunday’s game against the Jets. Expect Miami to handle this situation with extreme caution moving forward. The Athletic Ranking: 5 Previous: 1 Analysis: On the field, the Dolphins should be one of the feel-good stories this season with an explosive offense (third in EPA per drive) that has as much speed as any team and one of the most blitz-heavy defenses in the league. But it’s hard to focus on much else in Miami other than the troubling handling of Tua Tagovailoa that seems primed to be held up as exhibition No. 1 in a looming fight between the NFL Players Association and the league on player safety. Tagovailoa has already been ruled out for Week 5 because of the concussion he suffered last Thursday night against the Bengals. Pro Football Talk Ranking: 5 Previous: 1 Analysis: Can they win with Teddy Bridgewater at quarterback? Yahoo Sports Ranking: 5 Previous: 4 Scroll to Continue Analysis: It’s not the most important angle of the Tua Tagovailoa injury, but the Dolphins still have games to play and will do so for at least one week without their quarterback. Miami played hard in that loss to Cincinnati, so maybe it’ll be fine. But there’s a lot of pressure on Teddy Bridgewater to keep things on track until Tagovailoa returns. Miami doesn’t want to look up and their 3-0 start has been given away. ————————————————————————— FOR EVEN MORE COVERAGE ON THE MIAMI DOLPHINS, CHECK OUT SPORTS ILLUSTRATED’S MIAMI DOLPHINS PAGE ON SI.COM. ————————————————————————— Sports Illustrated Ranking: 4 Previous: 1 Analysis: While it’s impossible to separate what happened to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins’ immediate future, this is still a well-coached team and a well-designed offense. The first significant test of the Mike McDaniel era is here, though this is absolutely not what he was referring to when he discussed facing adversity. ESPN Ranking: 5 Previous: 1 Analysis (on the biggest issue on defense): Miami currently has the second-worst pass defense in the NFL through its first four games, although that hasn’t translated to the scoreboard. The Dolphins have been stout against the run, and the numbers they’ve given up are a bit skewed considering Josh Allen‘s 63 pass attempts in Week 3 and Lamar Jackson‘s prolific first half in Week 2. Presumably, they’ll return to form once Byron Jones returns from the physically unable to perform list — which he’s eligible to do this week.. The Ringer Ranking: 7 Previous: 6 Analysis: The biggest story line coming out of the Dolphins’ 27-15 loss to the Bengals is just how poorly the NFL and the team handled Tua Tagovailoa’s Week 3 injury against the Bills and the subsequent concussion Tagovailoa suffered four days later, Thursday night in Cincinnati. Head coach Mike McDaniel announced Monday that Tagovailoa will miss the team’s Week 5 matchup against the Jets. Teddy Bridgewater will get the start against New York. McDaniel’s offense is explosive and creative enough to survive Bridgewater being a step back in timing and accuracy from Tua, but Tagovailoa will need to be the healthy starting quarterback for Miami if its deep postseason aspirations will ring true. It will be interesting to watch the betting line on this game throughout the week, as last week’s line shifted from Bengals -1 to Bengals -3.5 even before Tagovailoa’s injury. The Dolphins opened as 3.5-point favorites on the road against the Jets. The Sporting News Ranking: 5 Previous: 1 Analysis: The Dolphins’ defense came down to earn against the passing of the Bengals and their offense took a tough setback of seeing Tua Tagovailoa going down. They will need to recover fast against the upstart Jets. USA Today Ranking: 2 Previous: 8 Analysis: Should be interesting to see this offense without QB Tua Tagovailoa, who will miss Week 5 with his (latest?) concussion. But backup Teddy Bridgewater, who aired out a completion of 61+ yards Thursday, has the arm to take advantage of this team’s speed … assuming coach Mike McDaniel can also get him to play less conservatively.
