Kashmir Off-Road Explores Valleys Lesser-Known Places Promotes Home-Stays Rising Kashmir
‘Kashmir Off-Road’ Explores Valley’s Lesser-Known Places, Promotes Home-Stays – Rising Kashmir https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/kashmir-off-road-explores-valleys-lesser-known-places-promotes-home-stays-rising-kashmir/ Treading through unpaved, steep inclines and challenging roads, a couple leads adventure motor-sport ‘Kashmir Off-Road’ to explore new places, culture, people, and landscapes across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The founder of the expedition, Ali Sajid told Rising Kashmir “exploring new, obscure, or lesser known locations, landscapes, cultures, and cuisine is the point of travel.” He said, “For more than 17 years, our passion has been off-roading and overlanding. Before coming home to India in 2016, we took a number of incredible road trips around the globe. I simultaneously experienced the exhilaration of taking some of the most extreme and hazardous roads.”  This devotion led to the creation of ‘Kashmir Off Road’. “Returning to India and to our ancestral home in Kashmir gave us the chance to travel to some of the most stunning and uncharted regions of the western Himalayas,” he added. After returning to Kashmir in 2016, Sajid wanted to do his bit to do something positive to change the general perception of Kashmir and encourage people to visit the beautiful valley. “So we started documenting and sharing our journeys with people around the world through our social media pages.”  With motorsport and overland ‘Kashmir Off-Road’ is trying to make a difference in Kashmir by involving like-minded people and also promoting motorsport at the grass-root level by encouraging youth to take up the sport. The ‘Kashmir Off-Road’ has so far explored numerous off-beat destinations around Kashmir. “The travellers were the first ones to extensively travel to Gurez back in 2017, and since then the place has seen some serious tourism,” Sajid said. The Off-Road works closely with the administration especially with the tourism department in promoting unknown tourist destinations to create sustainable tourism opportunities and livelihood for locals. “We have been actively working on border tourism in North Kashmir this year while cooperating closely with the J&K Forest department. By incorporating local populations in remote locations, we have been actively promoting eco-tourism, and home-stays and championing sustainable tourism practices.” Farah Zaidi, co-founder of ‘Kashmir Off Road’ explained that Kashmir is heaven for overlanding and off-roading. Kashmir is virtually undiscovered, making it a traveller’s delight. For those who want to explore different cultures, people, and their cuisines, Kashmir is the perfect destination, Zaidi said, adding each of the four seasons offers a distinctive vacation opportunity. “ In the future, we would like to continue with our endeavour to explore and promote lesser-known destinations in Kashmir and also involve local communities and promote home-stay culture across Kashmir,” She said. She said they are actively collaborating with local groups to promote the idea of home-stays in outlying locations. “Our adventures include real interactions, true cross-cultural learning, true exploration, and thrilling off-road driving experiences. During the expeditions, participants are urged to cooperate as a team and are assigned specific duties,” she said. “We would like to see the youth getting engaged in the competitive motorsport which we are also promoting. Many youngsters are taking part in competitive events not only in Kashmir but participating in events outside Kashmir too,” Zaidi added.  %

Stelia Aerospace Unveils News Rendez-Vous Business Class Seat – Business Traveller – Business Traveller https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/stelia-aerospace-unveils-news-rendez-vous-business-class-seat-business-traveller-business-traveller/ News 2 Oct 2022 by Mark Caswell Stelia Aerospace has launched a new business class seat design which it says is “one of the widest on the market”. The Airbus subsidiary says the Rendez-vous seat has been designed for widebody aircraft, and is described as being “like a comfortable and vast sofa”. Features include a fully flat bed, direct aisle access for all seats, a privacy door “turning the seat into a wide and comfortable private suite”, and a further privacy divider. Centre seats can be combined to form a double “Honeymoon” bed, and the seat’s backrest has been integrated into the backshell. No customers have yet to be confirmed for the seat, although reports state the firm is currently in discussions with “an Asian airline”. The Rendez-vous design adds to Stelia’s existing seat product portfolio, including the widebody Elysium, Opal, Solsyts and Symphony seats, and the single aisle Celeste and Opera options. Commenting on the news Thierry Kanengieser, VP Cabin Interior Stelia Aerospace, said: “When you’re travelling far, thousands of miles from home, all you desire is to feel like you would at home,” said “With Rendez-vous, our brand new Business Class staggered seat presenting a unique sofa seating comfort, airlines can offer their passengers an outstanding travel experience with a perfect ‘at home’ feeling while flying.” stelia-aerospace.com

Meal Prepping And Sustainable Living Doesnt Have To Be A Daunting Task The Martlet
Meal Prepping And Sustainable Living Doesnt Have To Be A Daunting Task The Martlet
Meal Prepping And Sustainable Living Doesn’t Have To Be A Daunting Task – The Martlet https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/meal-prepping-and-sustainable-living-doesnt-have-to-be-a-daunting-task-the-martlet/ Illustration by Sie Douglas-Fish. With fall classes started, it can be easy to find yourself on campus rushed between classes and hungry, forcing you to turn to one of the many convenient food options around you. Similarly, cooking dinner after a long day while homework is piling up around you might be the last thing you want to worry about, making fast food or takeout look that much more appealing. While there’s nothing wrong with enjoying a meal out, it can be easy to fall into a habit of relying on it. Eating out every day can quickly become a staggering expense, not to mention that it can be difficult to know exactly how healthy what you’re eating is and where the ingredients came from. Cooking for yourself — especially for students living away from home for the first time — can feel daunting. The planning, grocery shopping, execution, and cleanup can make opening up SkipTheDishes or Uber Eats seem like the best option. But, cooking for yourself and meal prepping can be a great way to save money, eat better, live more sustainably, and build habits and skills that will stay helpful throughout your entire life. Getting Started The easiest way to fail at building a new habit is to go all in too quickly. Staying consistent with small progressions slowly will make lifestyle changes actually effective. Try bringing lunch to campus once a week, or swapping takeout with a homemade dinner. Once you feel comfortable with these changes, then you can increase their frequency. If you truly have zero cooking experience, try not to feel intimidated. We live in a world of endless content online ranging from absolute basics to complex techniques, all for free and with video instructions. YouTube and other social media can teach anything from knife skills to meal ideas. Some content creators with easy-to-follow recipes and techniques are Adam Ragusea, Ethan Chlebowski, and Pro Home Cooks. Meal Prep Essentials Meal prepping is the act of cooking a large quantity of food or meals and portioning it to eat throughout the week. It is a great way to get rid of the hard choice of deciding what to eat during the week, as well as saving on cooking and cleaning time. The most important thing for starting to meal prep is a good set of containers. This can be anything from two-dollar tupperware to expensive bamboo bento boxes. Anything that can effectively store and hold food will do the trick. There is a reason so many internet chefs use plastic deli containers, as they are cheap, stack well in the fridge, and are incredibly versatile. Just try to get something that won’t explode open in your backpack during class. Consider the following when picking what to meal prep: how will this keep throughout the week, how quickly will I get tired of eating it, and does it fit with my lifestyle and sustainability goals. Try cooking new things, exploring new cuisines, and finding recipes that you actually want to eat. Sustainability Buying in bulk can be an economical and more sustainable way to do your grocery shopping. Instead of trying to buy all your food at once, shop around. Slowly build up a pantry of basics. Use apps like Flipp to look for weekly specials. Utilize the many specialty grocery stores in Victoria for ingredients that you may have never heard or thought of. Cutting down on meat and animal products can be a great way to reduce food costs and lead a more environmentally friendly and healthy lifestyle. Vegan does not need to mean bland or boring. With plant-based protein sources like tofu, lentils, seitan, and a wide array of fake meats like Impossible and Beyond, it’s never been easier to try and make changes in your diet. Many cultures and cuisines around the world have been plant-based for centuries, and have great ideas for meatless dishes. If you’re wanting to take your sustainability further, you can look towards trying one of the sustainable stores in town, like the Zero Waste Emporium or West Coast Refill. Interested in learning how to grow your own food? Try getting involved with the UVic community garden. With the rapidly increasing costs of living, buying enough groceries for a full week at once can be financially undoable for many. The UVSS Food Bank and Free Store is a stigma-free way to get groceries and household items if you are a student in need, and can be visited by appointment in the basement of the Student Union Building.

Aside from a 63-yard run from Cody Schrader, the ground game hasn’t been particularly effective. Gotta think Georgia is going to blitz like crazy after a rather vanilla defensive approach in the first half. Can some of these Mizzou WRs become stars tonight? Dominic Lovett already has is catches, and five-star true freshman Luther Burden has a chance to shine under the national spotlight. Pinned Halftime notes Stetson Bennett is just 10 of 24 passing, and the Bulldogs are averaging just three yards per rush. Essentially all of that rushing came on a single run from Kendall Milton that ended in a fumble. Just a stunning ball as the Tigers could become the first unranked team to beat a No. 1 ranked UGA squad since 1942.  Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned Pinned See More

CEO Tim Cook Says Apple Avoids The Word ‘metaverse’ Because The Average Person Doesn’t Know What It Means — A Stark Contrast To Rival Facebook – Yahoo News https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/ceo-tim-cook-says-apple-avoids-the-word-metaverse-because-the-average-person-doesnt-know-what-it-means-a-stark-contrast-to-rival-facebook-yahoo-news/ Justin Sullivan/Getty Images (left), David Ramos/Getty Images (right) Apple CEO Tim Cook discussed AR, VR, and more in a new interview with Dutch media outlet Bright. He said Apple avoids using the term “metaverse” because the average person doesn’t know what it is. The tech giant’s approach is a stark contrast to Mark Zuckerberg’s obsession with the metaverse. Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed in an exclusive interview with Dutch media outlet Bright that the tech giant’s hesitancy toward joining the metaverse hype is intentional. “I always think it’s important that people understand what something is. And I’m really not sure the average person can tell you what the metaverse is,” Cook told the outlet. The metaverse is a term derived from science-fiction and refers to a hypothetical version of a three-dimensional internet accessed via immersive technologies rather than 2D screens. The word “metaverse” was only mentioned once on Apple earnings calls so far this year, compared to 36 mentions on Meta earnings calls. Despite the buzz word’s explosive usage across the industry, executives are divided on whether the metaverse represents a real product — like virtual reality — or if it’s just a concept for a virtual world that may never actually exist. However, Mark Zuckerberg told staff in July that Meta is in “deep, philosophical competition” with Apple to build the metaverse. Following Facebook’s name change and announcement last fall that it would invest $10 billion into building the so-called metaverse, the iPhone maker stood out from the wider tech industry in its apparent refusal to join Mark Zuckerberg’s latest obsession. Instead, Apple has focused its emerging tech investment specifically on Augmented Reality. When an analyst asked Cook this January about Apple’s role in the metaverse space, he responded that Apple is “always exploring new and emerging technologies” and pointed to the company’s 14,000 AR kit apps in the App Store. “I think AR is a profound technology that will affect everything,” Cook told Bright in the interview published Friday, adding that virtual reality is not a way to “live your whole life.” “It’s something you can really immerse yourself in. And that can be used in a good way,” he said. “VR is for regular periods, but not a way to communicate well. So I’m not against it, but that’s how I look at it.” Read the original article on Business Insider

Decentralized Social (DESO) Outpaces Crypto Market And Surges 102% This Week Amid Integration With MetaMask – The Daily Hodl https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/decentralized-social-deso-outpaces-crypto-market-and-surges-102-this-week-amid-integration-with-metamask-the-daily-hodl/ A social media-focused altcoin is surging this week after the announcement of a new partnership with the popular crypto wallet MetaMask. Decentralized social media platform Decentralized Social (DESO) rallied to a weekly high of $11 today, marking a 102% increase from its seven-day low of $5.43 The 226th-ranked crypto asset by market cap has retraced since the weekly high, but it remains up nearly 40% in the past 24 hours, trading at $10.32 at time of writing. Despite the slight pullback, DESO continues to outperform all other crypto assets within the top 300 by market cap ranking. The Coinbase-backed layer-1 blockchain project aims to redefine the nature of social media applications by resolving scalability limitations as well as protecting users and content creators from centralized authorities. Decentralized Social’s new integration with MetaMask “paves the way for DeSo to become the cross-chain social layer for all Web 3.0,” according to a press release from the project. Explains DeSo founder Nader Al-Naji, “Existing blockchains cannot store content efficiently. It costs about $50 to store a 200-character Tweet on Ethereum and about fifteen cents to store it on Solana, Avalanche or Polygon. In contrast, DeSo is one ten-thousandth of a cent, making it the first blockchain capable of disrupting storage-heavy applications like social.” Decentralized Social has thus far operated in the Ethereum (ETH) ecosystem, but the project also plans to expand to Solana (SOL). Despite the gains this week, DESO remains down almost 95% from its all-time high of $198.68, which it hit in June of 2021. CPAC Backpedals On Pro-Russia Tweet As Some U.S. Conservatives Back Putin – The Washington Post https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/cpac-backpedals-on-pro-russia-tweet-as-some-u-s-conservatives-back-putin-the-washington-post/ Prominent Republicans are digging in against American support for Ukraine despite Russia’s threats to use nuclear weapons and evidence of mass graves and war crimes facilitated by Moscow. The Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday tweeted — and then hours later deleted — a message that called on Democrats to “end the gift-giving to Ukraine” while featuring a fluttering Russian flag. The tweet also referred to “Ukraine-occupied territories,” appearing to legitimize Russian President Vladimir Putin’s claims to annex provinces based on a referendum that the U.S. and allies view as illegal. CPAC chairman Matt Schlapp on Saturday said the tweet did not clear the normal approval process because he was traveling for a conference in Australia. “Due to my travel into a distant time zone it was never approved per usual,” he said in a text message. In a statement, CPAC expressed support for Ukraine but maintained opposition to American aid for the embattled country. “We must oppose Putin, but American taxpayers should not be shouldering the vast majority of the cost,” the statement said. “The tweet belittled the plight of the innocent Ukrainian people.” CPAC has repeatedly flirted with pro-Putin views in recent years, including hosting pro-Russian Hungarian prime minister Victor Orban at a Dallas conference in August. CPAC is not alone among American conservatives in opposing Ukrainian aid despite Putin’s invasion. Fox News host Tucker Carlson has alleged U.S. sabotage for leaks in a Russian gas pipeline to Europe, baseless claims that have earned him airtime on Russian state television. Former president Donald Trump also posted a message on his Truth Social platform offering himself as a negotiator for the conflict. At a Trump rally in Michigan on Saturday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) reiterated her opposition to U.S. aid to Ukraine and said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should negotiate a peace settlement with Russia. “We have so many problems here at home, I cannot even think about sending our money over to fund a proxy war with Russia,” she said in an interview. “Zelensky doesn’t run the United States government. He is not our president, but for some reason Joe Biden bends over every single time. … The American people don’t care about that war over there.” At the Michigan rally, Trump suggested he could have prevented Putin from invading Ukraine. “That war would never ever have happened if I were president and it didn’t happen,” Trump said. Many Republicans have followed Trump’s lead in waffling on Putin, whom Trump avoided condemning and sided with over his own intelligence agencies in doubting Russian interference in the 2016 election. Relations with Ukraine became partisan during Trump’s first impeachment, after he tried to use U.S. aid to Ukraine to pressure Zelensky to announce an investigation into Biden and his son Hunter’s business dealings in the country.

How Technology Can Boost An Old Failing Business Carousel News & Trader
How Technology Can Boost An Old, Failing Business – Carousel News & Trader https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/how-technology-can-boost-an-old-failing-business-carousel-news-trader/ Your business has been around for decades, and it has seen great success in the past. However, it has since slowed down, and you fear that it could be failing. This could be due to various reasons such as a changing marketplace, a lack of innovation, or simply because you’re not keeping up with the times. But don’t worry, there’s still hope! If your business is decades old and failing, it’s time to consider how technology can help. There are several ways that technology can help turn things around for your business. Let’s take a look at a few of them. Improve customer service If your business is failing, it’s time to take a close look at your customer service. In today’s competitive market, customers have high expectations for their interactions with businesses. If they don’t receive the level of service they expect, they will quickly take their business elsewhere. Luckily, there are a number of ways that technology can help you improve your customer service and turn your business around. For starters, technology can help you streamline your internal processes. This will make it easier for your staff to access the information they need to provide excellent service to your customers. Additionally, technology can help you automate repetitive tasks, giving your employees more time to focus on providing personalized service. Finally, technology can help you gather feedback from your customers so that you can constantly improve your service. By taking advantage of technology, you can improve your customer service and give your business the boost it needs to succeed. Increase sales Sales are the lifeblood of every business, but sometimes even the best companies can have trouble moving products. If your business is failing, technology can help increase sales and get you back on track. The first step is to assess where your sales are coming from and what type of customer you’re targeting. Once you have that information, you can start using technology to reach out to new potential customers. For example, if you’re selling products online, you can employ the aid of a professional branding agency to help you create a more effective website. They can also help build your brand digitally by increasing your social media presence and creating targeted online ads. And they can give advice on how to use data analytics to better understand your customers and what they’re looking for. After they help you enhance your online presence, your sales will surely increase because you’ll be able to reach more potential customers. You can increase sales and get your business back on track by reaching out to new customers and making it easier for them to find your product. Improve employee productivity If your business is struggling, employee productivity is one area you may want to look at. There are several ways that technology can help improve employee productivity and get your business back on track. For example, using project management software can help employees keep track of their tasks and stay organized. Communication tools like instant messaging and video conferencing can help employees stay in touch and collaborate on projects. And time tracking software can help employees stay focused and avoid distractions. Using these tools, you can help improve employee productivity and get your business back on track. Reduce operating costs If your business is struggling, you may be looking for ways to reduce operating costs. One way to do this is to incorporate technology into your business. By using technology, you can automate tasks, make better use of your time, and improve communication between employees. Automating tasks can help you save money on labor costs, and it can also help you improve the quality of your product or service. In addition, technology can help you stay organized and keep track of customer information. Finally, using technology can help you reach new markets and tap into new sources of revenue. Incorporating technology into your business is a great place to start if you’re looking to reduce operating costs. Enhance security Finally, technology can also help enhance security for your business. For example, you can install security cameras and access control systems to deter criminals from breaking into your premises. You can also encrypt sensitive data so that it is more difficult for hackers to access it if they can breach your security system. In addition, you can set up two-factor authentication for important accounts so that even if hackers could crack your accounts, they would still be unable to gain access to those without possession of your physical phone as well. As you can see, there are several ways that technology can help decades-old businesses that are failing. If your business is struggling, don’t hesitate to use technology to improve customer service, help increase sales, improve employee productivity, reduce operating costs, and enhance your security. With the right approach, you’ll be able to turn things around and get your business back on track.

National Campaign Highlights Route 66 Small Business Stops In Albuquerque – KRQE News 13 https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/national-campaign-highlights-route-66-small-business-stops-in-albuquerque-krqe-news-13/ by: Annalisa Pardo Posted: Oct 1, 2022 / 04:43 PM MDT Updated: Oct 1, 2022 / 04:43 PM MDT ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque is booming this week with tourists from all around the globe in town for Balloon Fiesta. However, a spotlight is being used to bring attention to another big tourist attraction in Albuquerque – Route 66. Exon Mobil’s ‘Keep Route 66 Kickin‘ campaign travels along Route 66, highlighting the mother road and the small businesses along the way. On Saturday, it stopped in Albuquerque. “The goal of the campaign is really a bigger idea of what we think Route 66 represents,” said ExxonMobil North America Consumer Marketing and Growth Manager Bryce Huschka, “An icon of getting out of your routine, exploring. Route 66 has always meant that. We think it’s an alternative to our lives where we’re just over-programmed, over-worked, over-scheduled.” Along with raising awareness of Route 66 and small businesses on the road, Huscka said they are collecting signatures to help get Route 66 recognized as a National Historic Trail. For Duke City’s stop, the campaign teamed up with Clowndog Hot Dog Parlor. “I am so grateful, 1000% grateful,” said Rich Bartel, owner of Clowndog Hot Dog Parlor. At each stop, the campaign attempts to break a world record. At Clowndog, that meant bringing in the second-best competitive eater in the world and trying to break a corndog eating record. Bartel and his team fried up 150 corndogs for the occasion. Bartel said he’s grateful for the spotlight on his business, which opened during the pandemic, and for the spotlight on the iconic piece of Albuquerque and the country. “We love Route 66 here. All the neon we have up; it’s big part of our culture here,” said Bartel. The competitive eater had to eat more than 8 corndogs in three minutes to set a new record. He did just that, eating eleven corndogs in three minutes. The campaign’s next stop is in Litchfield, Illinois. There, it will attempt to set the world record of most dogs at an outdoor movie screening.

Doing This At Night Ruins Your Immune System — Best Life – Best Life https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/doing-this-at-night-ruins-your-immune-system-best-life-best-life/ Living through a global pandemic has given many of us a better appreciation for the importance of our immune systems. However, far too many among us still embrace unhealthy habits that chip away at our bodies’ defenses. We do this, in part, because scientists are still learning all of the ways that our lifestyles and immune systems are linked—and until recently, it fair to say that most of us simply didn’t know any better. Now, new research is shedding light on how one nightly habit could be ruining your immune system, and putting you at increased risk for a range of serious health conditions. Read on to learn which one unhealthy habit could be tanking your immune system, and why doing it often could lead to a higher likelihood of heart disease, dementia, and more. READ THIS NEXT: If You Notice This at Night, Get a Blood Test, Doctors Warn. iStock / m-imagephotography A robust and healthy immune system helps your body protect itself from disease. Without it, you’re far more vulnerable to illness and infection, including everything from cold and flu viruses to more serious chronic conditions. “Our immune systems are complex and influenced by many factors,” explains the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). “Vaccines build immunity against specific diseases. Some additional ways you can strengthen your immune system are eating well, being physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, getting enough sleep, not smoking, and avoiding excessive alcohol use.” READ THIS NEXT: If You Sleep This Way, Your Dementia Risk Soars, Study Warns. iStock A good night’s sleep leaves you feeling rested and restored—but the benefits go much deeper than that. A new study published in the Journal of Experimental Medicine shared data from both human and animal trials, which determined that failing to get adequate sleep for just six weeks can all but ruin your immune system. In the human study, the researchers gathered a group of 14 healthy adult volunteers who were accustomed to sleeping for the recommended eight hours per night. After drawing control samples of their blood, they shortened the subjects’ sleep by 90 minutes per night for the six-week study period, then re-drew a second blood sample for comparison. “In subjects who had undergone sleep restriction, the number of immune cells circulating in the blood was higher. These cells are key players in inflammation,” study co-author Filip Swirski, the director of the Cardiovascular Research Institute at Icahn Mount Sinai in New York, told NBC News.  “The key message from this study is that sleep lessens inflammation and loss of sleep increases inflammation.” Shutterstock When your immune system is compromised, you’re more vulnerable to a wide range of health conditions, says Kristen Knutson, an associate professor at the Center for Circadian and Sleep Medicine at the Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine. “It plays a big role in a lot of other health conditions,” she told NBC News. “Anything that impairs the immune system can have far-ranging effects.” In addition to making you more susceptible to infectious diseases, chronic lack of sleep can also increase your risk of inflammatory disorders including sepsis, heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and other forms of dementia. For more health news sent directly to your inbox, sign up for our daily newsletter. In addition to seeing an increased number of immune cells after the six-week study period, suggesting an inflammatory immune response, the researchers also saw that the stem cells—which go on to become immune cells—also showed functional changes which worsened with each new bout of impaired sleep. More research is needed to determine whether these effects of poor sleep are permanent, or if the stem cells may fuller recover over the course of months or years. However, experts say one takeaway is clear: getting consistently adequate sleep is crucial to your health. “You can’t run yourself ragged during the week and make up for it on the weekend,” said Knutsen.

Bryce Young Injury: Alabama Star Quarterback Hurts Shoulder Vs. Arkansas, Questionable For Second Half – CBS Sports https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/bryce-young-injury-alabama-star-quarterback-hurts-shoulder-vs-arkansas-questionable-for-second-half-cbs-sports/ USATSI Alabama star quarterback Bryce Young injured his right shoulder early in the second quarter of Saturday’s game against No. 20 Arkansas. With the No. 2 Crimson Tide holding a 14-0 lead on the road, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner landed awkwardly while being tackled by his ankles outside the pocket as he attempted to throw the ball away. Despite missing most of the second quarter, Young emerged from the locker room at the start of the second half. Though he was listed as questionable to return to the game, he never stepped foot on the field as backup Jalen Milroe helped lead the Tide to a 49-26 win over the Razorbacks. After the game, Alabama coach Nick Saban referred to Young’s injury as a sprained shoulder, though he did not provide further details as to Young’s status going forward. Though Young remained in for the next play after his fall, he grimaced on the ensuing throw and quickly made his way to the injury tent. He did not emerge for the next series as Milroe led Alabama on two quick scoring drives to give the visitors a 28-0 lead. Between those touchdowns, Young jogged off into the locker room still wearing his pads. Milroe completed 3 of 5 passes for 62 yards and a touchdown along with his rushing score before halftime; he started the second half for the Tide but only threw for 3 more yards on four additional attempts. Milroe charged 77 yards down the field on a broken play to setup a touchdown, and running back Jahmyr Gibbs took over the game with fourth-quarter touchdown runs of 72 and 76 yards. Young entered Alabama’s fifth game of the season having completed 68.6% of his passes for 1,029 yards, 13 touchdowns and two interceptions with two more scores on the ground. He was 7 of 13 for 173 yards with a touchdown and a pick before leaving the game. A potential No. 1 overall pick in the forthcoming 2023 NFL Draft, Young threw for 4,872 yards with 47 touchdowns passing, three more rushing and seven interceptions as he led the Tide to a College Football Playoff runner-up finish last season.

Tim Cook On Why Apple Avoids The Term metaverse Unlike Facebook Business Insider
Tim Cook On Why Apple Avoids The Term ‘metaverse,’ Unlike Facebook – Business Insider https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/tim-cook-on-why-apple-avoids-the-term-metaverse-unlike-facebook-business-insider/ Apple CEO Tim Cook discussed AR, VR, and more in a new interview with Dutch media outlet Bright. He said Apple avoids using the term “metaverse” because the average person doesn’t know what it is.  The tech giant’s approach is a stark contrast to Mark Zuckerberg’s obsession with the metaverse.  Loading Something is loading. So I’m not against it, but that’s how I look at it.”

Space Cadets Has Everything A Person Needs To Get Organized With Something For Every Budget – 280 Living https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/space-cadets-has-everything-a-person-needs-to-get-organized-with-something-for-every-budget-280-living/ There’s nothing worse than trying to live and work in a cluttered environment. This is especially true for the many Americans who are spending more time at home than they used to. “Even though we’re venturing out more now, we’re still spending more time at home than before the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Kim McBrayer, owner of Space Cadets. The pandemic impacted our habits, plus many people are still working from home, Kim said. Space Cadets has everything a person needs to get organized, and there’s something for every budget. There are $5 solutions and $50,000 solutions to clutter — and everything in between. There are built-in cabinets for those who want a touch of elegance, and there are fixed ventilated shelves for those who want to get organized on a budget. At the retail and design center, customers can shop a variety of organization products for closets, kitchens, garages and more. “You don’t have to buy services from multiple companies,” Kim said. “We’re a one-stop shop with everything you need to get organized.” The best sellers at Space Cadets in 2022 are custom closets. This is a great way to reorganize your home and make sure you have a perfect place for everything you own. There are a variety of closet choices for every budget, and each one is a high-quality design. The closets can be customized to your home and your needs. The process at Space Cadets starts with a consultation, called a Space Walk. At this meeting, clients discuss their trouble areas, specific needs, budget and expectations. Next is the design phase. If a product system is required, one of the Space Cadet designers prepares a plan and estimate for your review. The production phase is the moment the client has been waiting for. Here, the Space Cadets organize with great care and attention to detail and leave the space better than they found it. Space Cadets also helps with relocations. “This is either for someone moving into a new home and wanting to get started with a clean slate, or for someone preparing to move and wanting to purge the unnecessary to lighten the load for the movers,” Kim said. Kim urges customers to call Space Cadets in the early stages of their home remodels or construction to get in the pipeline for ordering and preparation. “Don’t wait until the last minute,” she said. This need for early booking is due in part to continuing supply chain issues, but it’s also due to the Space Cadets schedule. “We need to get involved at an earlier date than we used to because we’re booking so far out,” Kim said. In addition, custom closets “are so popular and are in great demand, like never before,” Kim said. Anyone interested can stop by the retail shop in Brook Highland to find all sorts of cool storage items and gadgets, as well as take a walk through the showroom and design center for great ideas on how to improve their space.

Indo-Pacific Component Commanders Stress Importance Of Partners Department Of Defense
Indo-Pacific Component Commanders Stress Importance Of Partners – Department Of Defense https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/indo-pacific-component-commanders-stress-importance-of-partners-department-of-defense/ All the military component commanders of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command stress the need for partnership in the immense region of the world. Reporters traveling with Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III interviewed with the component commanders: Air Force Gen. Kenneth S. Wilsbach, the commander of Pacific Air Forces; Navy Adm. Samuel Paparo, commander of the Navy’s Pacific Fleet, and Army Maj. Gen. Peter N. Benchoff, the chief of staff of U.S. Army Pacific. They discussed the readiness of U.S. forces in the region to defend U.S. interests, and all emphasized the work soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and Guardians do to build interoperability, understanding and procedures to work with allies, partners and friends. The United States is a Pacific power with vital national interests spread throughout the region. “Our objective is to, to help contribute to a free and open Indo-Pacific,” Wilsbach said at his headquarters at Hickam Air Force Base. “We do that through mostly airpower, and we obviously have many airmen, and we have aircraft that can generate that air power. But one other way that we do this is through allies and partners.” China is the pacing threat in the region, but Russia also maintains significant forces in the Pacific. “Clearly, China wants to be the world’s only superpower, and they actually believe that everybody else has to be a loser, and they can be the only winner,” Wilsbach said. “It’s clear that they want to impose their will on the world, especially their close neighbors. And that’s, that’s counter to our objective of [being] free and open.” Pacific Air Forces is at a very high readiness level across the region from Alaska and Hawaii to Guam, Japan, and Korea, the general said. The airmen train hard and they interact with allies and partners all the time. “We get interoperability with those allies and partners,” he said. He spoke about the recently concluded Pitch Black exercise hosted by Australia. As the name implies, it is an exercise that emphasizes operating in low light. “There were 17 countries flying,” he said. “And often when you have that many countries flying in one exercise, you actually have to reduce the complexity of the exercise so that everybody can participate.” But that didn’t happen; there was not reduction in complexity, he said. “It was about as complicated as a mission as we train to. Watching the mission unfold, I was extremely impressed with the professionalism and the airmanship that was displayed by all 17 countries.” The mission was safe, professional and executed with a high degree of skill and precision. “They achieved their objective for the overall objective for the mission,” he said. “It was not an easy mission to do.” That same partnership happens with naval forces in the region. Paparo said he wants to see every U.S. Pacific Fleet operation partnered. “Our connections from headquarters to headquarters, and our connection with embedded officers and staff, and in our connections with liaison officers — I don’t think we’ve ever been more partnered than we are right now,” the admiral said. “And, so, the lash ups from Korea, down to Australia and to the east to Tahiti, among all the partners, have really never been tighter.” U.S. Pacific Fleet has a significant effort to coordinate its bilateral and multilateral operations, and they are constant. The command is finishing up Noble Eagle, an exercise where two Canadian frigates, two Australian frigates, two Japanese destroyers and a U.S. destroyer operated dynamically throughout the South China Sea. The flotilla operated with common operating pictures and common command and control for 11 days. “Our combined afloat readiness and training exercises with Singapore, with Malaysia, with Indonesia, with Bangladesh are examples” of partnered exercises, the admiral said. “In the areas where we must be bilateral, we are. In the ways that we can be multilateral, we are.” Army forces in the Pacific also look to exercise and operate with allies and partners. Exercises with partners have grown in complexity and in members. Exercises like Cobra Gold in Thailand and Balikatan in the Philippines have grown “more multinational because our allies and partners out here see a change in the security requirements,” Benchoff said. Interoperability in ground forces is a problem, but the exercise program ensures the forces can communicate, can share information and intelligence, can operate effectively in operations from humanitarian relief to conflict, the general said. The soldier-to-soldier aspect of these exercises is also important. “Us sleeping under a tree with an ally or a partner is instrumental to the joint force,” he said. “These personal contacts go a long way to building interoperability.” Army forces work with other ground forces to help nations build capabilities. The Security Force Assistance Brigade works to keep soldiers forward to work with and train partner ground forces. This presence is invaluable, Benchoff said. The challenges across the region require a unified approach, all three men said. China and Russia are competitors. North Korea is a rogue state that can surprise defense officials. The threat from extremist groups always exists. The only constant is the need for allies, and Indo-Pacific Command is working on that.

Chamber Of Commerce Dinner Celebrates Local Business Accomplishments – Three Rivers Commercial-News https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/chamber-of-commerce-dinner-celebrates-local-business-accomplishments-three-rivers-commercial-news/ By:  Robert Tomlinson, News Director FABIUS TWP. — Area businesses and business leaders were recognized and awarded for their many accomplishments and investments in the community in the past calendar year at an annual dinner event. The Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce held their annual awards ceremony and celebration dinner at Klinger Hall on the grounds of Camp Eberhart in Fabius Township Wednesday night. Attended by dozens from the local business community, the theme of the dinner was “Flannels and Flapjacks,” with the majority of attendees wearing casual flannel shirts and enjoying a dinner of breakfast food, such as pancakes, bacon, sausage and fruit, put together by Camp Eberhart’s staff. “One of my favorite parts of the job is to be able to celebrate with the businesses and hear their stories and be able to share that with the community,” Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Christy Trammell said following the ceremony. “We’re grateful we have such unique and cool spots in St. Joseph County that we can highlight, bring people here who have never been here, and hold our event here.” The recognitions began with the newest graduates of the Chamber’s Leadership St. Joseph County class, which gives those who sign up the opportunity to build leadership skills by contributing in a number of different ways, including a community service project. Abby Fader, one of this year’s graduates, said it was a “great experience” and she learned plenty from the class. She said they started off with an assessment of their personality traits and leadership styles, and then worked on communicating with other people and their traits. Following that, she said the class discussed the community as a whole, with one of the activities being a tour of Kadant Johnson and having interactive presentations on different subjects. “Overall, it’s a great program, and I highly recommend it to anyone who’s looking to learn more about themselves and more about their community, and more overall just to communicate,” Fader said. The community service project for this year’s group was putting together an online directory for service club resources in the county. Class graduate Melissa Bliss said this particular project was inspired by the Elks Club’s annual assistance to kids with special needs and a need to give people a way to connect with local resources, and service clubs in particular. “Our goal is to help clubs grow their membership and connect our neighbors with these local resources,” Bliss said. Bliss, Fader, Maddie Jackson and Tracie Hinkley were this year’s Leadership St. Joseph County graduates. Following that recognition was the board chairpersons’ addresses, starting with outgoing Chamber chair Greg Moore, who recalled all the accomplishments of the Chamber throughout the year, including the success of the Water Festival, IceBreaker, and “record” rentals at their new facility on North Main Street. “I have the pleasure and good fortune of interacting with another of Chambers and Chamber professionals around the state and how they operate. I can tell you without hesitation that what we have been able to accomplish with this Chamber with a staff of two people is nothing short of remarkable,” Moore said, praising Trammell’s leadership of the organization. “I truly believe that Christy Trammell is one of the best Chamber presidents around in this state. Her passion for this organization is unparalleled. The amount of after-hours time she puts in speaks to that passion, and her desire to put the Chamber and the community and this organization first is just remarkable.” In an annual tradition, Moore then passed the chairpersons’ gavel off to the next Chamber board chair, Kristen McEnroe, who was chair back in 2020-21. McEnroe then gave a preview of the Chamber’s five goals for next year, which were tourism, engagement, housing, labor and legislative priorities. With the housing goal, McEnroe said it continues to be a “struggle” in the community, with people continuing to ask about rentals, leases and the landlord list. She said the Chamber will look at ways to encourage new housing development, better broadband service, and relocation of employees. Specifically talking about legislative priorities, advocating for education legislation was top of the list, with McEnroe acknowledging the guidance on the issue from St. Joseph County ISD Superintendent and Chamber board vice chair Teresa Belote. McEnroe said the Chamber will look to support Senate Bill 861 and Senate Bill 942, which she said would provide an “expedited pathway” for experienced teachers and counselors certified in other states to work in Michigan. Overall, McEnroe said she looks forward to the year ahead for the Chamber. “Promoting and serving this community is very important to me. I look forward to the amazing things that come this year,” McEnroe said. After McEnroe’s address, various awards were given out to local businesses, including the annual Brick Awards, which are given to those who Trammell said have made “significant investments” in the community in the past year. This year’s recipients were Confluence Cannabis for opening up their storefront and their goal to provide space to other up-and-coming businesses, Harbor Farmz Provisioning for opening their new storefront in Three Rivers and being the first recreational marijuana shop in the city, Glen Oaks Community College for their two renovation projects currently in progress, the St. Joseph County Commission on Aging for their pickleball/shuffleboard court project, Satori Guest Properties for their positive feedback on Airbnb, and Camp Eberhart for the construction of the camp’s new bathhouse. Other awards included Bliss receiving the Community Service Award, Sabrina Helland and Flagstar Bank for winning the Outstanding Customer Service Award, Jackson receiving the Chamber Participation Award, and Clayton Lyczynski receiving the Ambassador Award. The final award handed out for the evening was the David M. Armstrong Memorial Award, which is given to someone who displays values of faith, family and job in their work. This year’s recipients were Kirt and Diane Stauffer, the owners of Birch Meadows Senior Care in Three Rivers. In the nomination letter for them, read out by Rex Scare of Armstrong International, it discusses how the company’s faith in God impacts what they do. “The leadership team is committed to praying for the right residents and right employees to join the team. They believe if they serve the elders in our community with the heart of Jesus, he will bless everyone around them,” Scare read. “It is not uncommon for them to pray with a resident or a team member. They often play worship music, which results in a peaceful environment where everyone can thrive. Respect and dignity also perfectly describe who they are.” Overall, Trammell said following the ceremony said it is always special to recognize the businesses and the people surrounding them for everything they do for the community. “We have so much that happens in our community, and to be able to celebrate with them and recognize them for their accomplishments and their investments is a special evening,” Trammell said. Modelling Study Estimates The Number Of People Living With Type 1 Diabetes Is Set To Double By 2040 – The Daily Star https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/modelling-study-estimates-the-number-of-people-living-with-type-1-diabetes-is-set-to-double-by-2040-the-daily-star/ An estimated 8.4 million people were living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) across the globe in 2021, according to the results of a new modelling study published in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology. This number is predicted to increase to 13.5-17.4 million people living with T1D by 2040. There is an opportunity to save millions of lives in the coming decades by raising the standard of care for T1D (including ensuring universal access to insulin and other essential supplies) and increasing awareness of the signs and symptoms of T1D to enable a 100% rate of diagnosis in all countries. Researchers modelled data on childhood, adolescent and adult T1D prevalence in 97 countries, along with incidence over time data from 65 countries and mortality data from 37 countries to predict T1D incidence, prevalence, and mortality in 2021 for 201 countries, with projections of future prevalence through 2040. The estimates were tested for accuracy against real world prevalence data from 15 countries.  In 2021, the model estimated that 8.4 million individuals worldwide were living with T1D. Of these individuals, 18% were under 20 years old, 64% were between 20-59 years, and 19% were over 60 years. Although historically T1D has been a disease associated with onset in childhood, these results reveal that numerically more adults than children are diagnosed every year (316,000 vs 194,000 incident cases worldwide in 2021), with a mean diagnosis age of 32 years. The projected T1D prevalence in 2040 given by the model was is 13.5-17.5 million people, with largest relative increases predicted to occur in LICs and LMICs. Conservative estimates place the relative increase in the number of people living with T1D by 2040 compared to 2020 at 66%.

Alabama Vs. Arkansas Live Stream, Watch Online, TV Channel, Kickoff Time, Football Game Odds, Spread – CBS Sports https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/alabama-vs-arkansas-live-stream-watch-online-tv-channel-kickoff-time-football-game-odds-spread-cbs-sports/ A heavyweight battle in the SEC West headlines on Saturday as No. 2 Alabama hits the road to take on No. 20 Arkansas on the SEC on CBS Game of the Week. The Crimson Tide roll in to Fayetteville, Arkansas, with a record of 4-0 and are coming off of two easy victories; the Tide took down Vanderbilt 55-3 last week after beating ULM 63-7 the week before. Those results looked a lot different than the one from Week 2 when Alabama narrowly avoided an upset in a road game against Texas. Arkansas wasn’t as lucky last week. The Razorbacks have spent all week trying to shake the image of Cam Little’s 42-yard field goal attempt bouncing off the top of the upright instead of going through with 90 seconds left in the game. Those lost three points loomed large in a 23-21 loss to rival Texas A&M. Now, the Razorbacks have to find a way to bounce back against one of the best teams in the country. That loss makes this a must-win for Arkansas. A loss would drop it to 1-2 in conference play, and it’s hard to imagine any team with two losses — one of which coming to Alabama — winning the SEC West. How to watch Alabama vs. Arkansas live Date: Saturday, October 1 | Time: 3:30 p.m. ET Location: Razorback Stadium — Fayetteville, Arkansas TV: CBS | Live stream: CBSSports.com, CBS Sports App (Free) Alabama vs. Arkansas: Need to know Alabama has dominated this series: Arkansas is not an original member of the SEC, which is why it’s only played Alabama 30 times in its history. As you’d expect in anything involving Alabama, the Tide have dominated, winning 22 of those 30 meetings. That includes each of the last 14. To put that into context, the last time Arkansas beat Alabama was in 2006 (24-23). Houston Nutt was coaching Arkansas, Mike Shula was coaching Alabama and George W. Bush was in the Oval Office. We’ve had three different presidents since that game. Heck, Arkansas has had five different coaches! What I’m saying is it’s been a while. Alabama has struggled on the road: Leaving the friendly confines of home hasn’t worked out well for the Tide lately. Alabama has been favored by an average of 18.5 points in its last six road games, but it has not played to expectations. Alabama was a 21.5-point favorite in its game against Texas this season and scratched and clawed for a one-point win. Going back to last season, Alabama has gone 4-1 in true road games, but only one of those wins was comfortable (49-9 at Mississippi State). It lost to Texas A&M 41-38, and none of its wins over Florida, Auburn or Texas came by more than a field goal. This is a revenge game for Arkansas LB Drew Sanders: OK, so maybe he’s not out for revenge, but Sanders was a five-star recruit out of high school who originally committed to Alabama. After not seeing much action in two seasons with the Tide — he appeared in 24 games on special teams and as a reserve — he transferred to Arkansas this season and has been a major part of the Hogs’ defense. Sanders has been everywhere, picking up 31 tackles through four games. That includes 6.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and two passes defended. The Razorbacks will need Sanders to maintain that level of performance and help slow down the Alabama offense. Alabama vs. Arkansas prediction, picks Part of the reason Alabama has not been good on the road is that its offensive line has not been up to the typical standard. This year’s Alabama offense has not been nearly as explosive in the passing game as we’ve seen in recent years. There is no true alpha receiver — at least, not one that has taken the reins from the outstanding receivers Alabama has had in recent years. All of that combined with Arkansas dropping into coverage and forcing teams to put together long drives to beat it suggests this will be a lower-scoring, closer affair than anticipated. I don’t have a high level of confidence in it, but if I’m betting anything here, I’d rather be on the Razorbacks. Prediction: Arkansas +17 Which college football picks can you make with confidence in Week 5, and which top-10 favorite will go down hard? Visit SportsLine to see which teams will win and cover the spread — all from a proven computer model that has returned more than $3,100 in profit over the past six-plus seasons — and find out.

BEYA Pre-College Program To Host A Metaverse Symposium Ahead Of BEYA STEM Conference 2023 – BlackEngineer.com https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/beya-pre-college-program-to-host-a-metaverse-symposium-ahead-of-beya-stem-conference-2023-blackengineer-com/ Career Communications Group (CCG) has announced that the first ever BEYA Metaquake Symposium will take place in February 2023 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC. Click here to register. The BEYA Pre-College program will anchor the symposium, giving young people an opportunity to learn about the metaverse and the tools used to create metaverses. In addition to the traditional programming, students will engage in a scholastic metaverse building competition which will culminate in a metaverse hackathon. The BEYA Pre-College Program has been an integral part of the Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA) Conference since its inception. The program has partnered with organizations such as the Maryland Mathematics, Engineering, and Science Achievement (MESA) program, various school districts, and the Patriots Technology Training Center to present programs for middle school and high school students at the annual science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) conference held during Black History Month. CCG is actively re-engaging with past BEYA recipients to induct a new class into the Alumni Hall of Fame. The 2023 honorees represent the wealth of resources for the next generation to benchmark their pursuit of excellence on their personal journey to becoming everything they can be. The BEYA Metaquake Symposium will provide a deeper understanding of the technologies that are the foundation of the metaverse which include gaming, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), cryptocurrency, blockchain, NFTs, Web 3.0, education, and beyond. Scheduled a week before the 2023 BEYA STEM Conference, the BEYA Metaquake Symposium creates a forum to explore technologies that are being harnessed by pioneers to create the metaverses. Early adopters are blazing a trail by stitching together some of the foundational technologies to create products and experiences that are propelling the creation of metaverses much like Career Communications Group’s STEM City and the BEYA STEM digital twin experience (DTX) platforms, which offer yearlong programming. The BEYA Metaquake Symposium will explore the ecosystem by bringing together educators, researchers, business professionals, artists, gamers, and even novelists to explore and learn more about the metaverse. We want to start the conversation that answers the question most people ask when they hear about the metaverse: what is the metaverse and what does that mean for me? The symposium is for anyone who is curious about the metaverse and wants to engage in discussions designed to expand their knowledge, identify their points of entry in this emerging technology, and understand how their future may evolve. It’s for educators and students. Organizations that are exploring or engaging teams to develop and implement metaverse strategies. It’s for individuals who want to know how metaverse strategies can disrupt a carefully planned career trajectory. It’s for anyone who grapples with the jargon of the metaverse and wishes to gain knowledge that they can build on. The BEYA Metaquake Symposium will take place in the historic Omni Shoreham Hotel and Resort located in the quiet urban residential neighborhood, Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC. Its location offers quick access to the Reagan National Airport, which is about 8 miles away. Dulles National and Baltimore-Washington International Airports are respectively 28 and 33 miles away. Reserve a space by January 12, 2023. Click here to register.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, Crypto News And Price Data – CoinDesk https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/bitcoin-ethereum-crypto-news-and-price-data-coindesk-5/ Released this week, the Best Universities for Blockchain 2022 by CoinDesk serves as a global resource for those looking to study this important technology. Four primary categories were investigated to determine the best universities for blockchain across the globe: (1) an institution’s strength in research and academic contributions to advancing the field; (2) the existing blockchain offerings on campus, whether in the form of classes, educational centers, clubs, etc.; (3) employment and industry outcomes; and (4) overall academic reputation. Every university received an individual score in each category. These scores were then normalized and added together to determine the overall score for the university and its rank. The 50 schools we ranked came from just four regions: Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia and the Pacific Islands. Asia and the Pacific Islands dominated the list with 20 schools. A closer examination of the schools by region showed clear strengths among each of the four metrics. The Best Universities for Blockchain in Asia and the Pacific Islands Universities in Asia and the Pacific Islands had the highest average overall score of 63.7, as well as the highest average research output score for regions with more than one school on the list. Asia and the Pacific Islands cemented its place as the top region for blockchain education with the sheer volume of research it is producing in the blockchain space. Sixty percent of the top 10 research producers are located in Asia and the Pacific Islands. The Best Universities for Blockchain in North America North America has 16 universities in our final 50 and they also achieved the second-highest average overall score of 57. North American schools scored the highest in campus blockchain offerings. While North American schools may be lagging behind their Asian and Pacific Island counterparts in blockchain research production, they tended to offer a greater variety of blockchain classes, have more research centers on campus and more student clubs dedicated to blockchain technology – all of which are counted in the campus blockchain offerings score. Graduates from North American universities also tended to have improved employment outcomes, yet another metric we measured, compared to other regions. The Best Universities for Blockchain in Europe Although Europe did not come out on top in any category by region that was investigated, the 13 European schools that made our final ranking scored second-highest in reputation and employment outcomes. Survey respondents viewed European universities as more prestigious than their Asian, Pacific Island or Middle Eastern counterparts. The Best Universities for Blockchain in the Middle East This year only one university in the Middle East made the Top Universities for Blockchain in 2022. King Saud University stood out from all but one U.S. school – Cornell University – for its number of blockchain research published papers and citations. The university has been investigating how blockchain technology can improve supply chains and energy grids. US Hostage Allowed To Leave Iranian Prison For A Week – ایران اینترنشنال https://bentoncountynewsnow.com/us-hostage-allowed-to-leave-iranian-prison-for-a-week-%d8%a7%db%8c%d8%b1%d8%a7%d9%86-%d8%a7%db%8c%d9%86%d8%aa%d8%b1%d9%86%d8%b4%d9%86%d8%a7%d9%84/ Baguer and Siamak Namazis Siamak Namazi, an Iranian-American hostage has been let out of prison in Tehran, as a semi-official Iranian source said there is a prisoner deal with the United States. His lawyer Jared Genser told Reuters on Saturday that the furlough is renewable. United Nations spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said in a statement that Siamak’s father, Baquer Namazi, is being allowed to leave Iran for medical treatment. However, Iran’s Nour news said Saturday that intensive negotiations were held with the mediation of a regional country regarding the simultaneous release of Iranian and American prisoners in recent weeks. Billions of dollars from the blocked resources of Iran are also about to be released in this framework. US officials have not commented yes about the Namazis, although Secretary of State Antony Blinken tweeted Saturday afternoon that several Americans jailed in Venezuela will be released. Baquer Namazi was convicted in Iran of “collaboration with a hostile government” in 2016 and sentenced to 10 years in prison. Iranian authorities released him on medical grounds in 2018 and closed his case in 2020, commuting his sentence to time served but effectively barring him from leaving the country. His son, Siamak, was convicted of the same charge and has been held in Evin prison since 2015. The US government has described the charges against both as baseless. “I am thrilled for the Namazi family that for the first time in seven years Siamak Namazi is sleeping at home with his family,” Genser, who represents the family, told Reuters. “This is a critical first step but of course we will not rest until the entire family is able to return to the United States and their long nightmare is finally over,” Genser added.
