Angela Rayner, born on March 28, 1980, in Stockport, is a prominent British Labour Party politician and Deputy Prime Minister since July 2024. She has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ashton-under-Lyne since 2015 and Deputy Leader of the Labour Party since 2020. Known for her working-class background, Rayner left school at 16 without qualifications and worked as a care worker before becoming a trade union representative with UNISON. She joined the Labour Party and rose through its ranks, holding various Shadow Cabinet roles, including Shadow Secretary of State for Education and Shadow Deputy Prime Minister.
