This is a remote-controlled, inovative "Magnus-Effect Bi-Plane" prototype which I filmed during the "Faszination Modellbau " trade fair in Friedrichshafen, Germany. The Magnus effect, named after Heinrich Gustav Magnus (1802-1870), is a phenomenon of fluid mechanics and describes the transverse force effect that a rotating round body (cylinder or sphere) experiences in a flow. Magnus was the first to provide a physical explanation of the effect.
