Der Krieg in Gaza baut auch hierzulande Fronten auf. Da die Solidarität mit Israel deutsche Staatsräson ist, erscheint Sympathie für die Palästinenser verdächtig - auch in der Kulturszene. Die Debatte ist derart aufgeheizt, dass selbst jüdische Künstlerinnen und Künstler Sanktionen fürchten müssen, wenn ihre Haltung als israelfeindlich interpretiert wird. Ein Kriterium für Israelfeindschaft ist die sogenannte "BDS-Nähe". BDS steht für "Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions", also für Boykotte und Sanktionen gegen Israel. Die Initiative will mit friedlichen Mitteln einen Wandel im Nahen Osten erreichen - warum sie trotzdem nicht harmlos ist, darüber sprechen wir mit Meron Mendel, dem Direktor der Bildungsstätte Anne Frank in Frankfurt am Main.
