This site is home to the descendants and friends of the men who fought with the 46th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry and with its successor organization, the 46th Pennsylvania Veteran Volunteer Infantry. More than 1,800 names of men who served appear in the regimental records.

Shulinkou (Shu Lin Kou) Air Station, 6987th Security Group, Taiwan (Republic of China), under the command of the U.S. Air Force Security Service (click here) (USAFSS), was a small U.S. Air Force intelligence installation with approximately 1,200 U.S. military personnel stationed there in the 1970s including Army (ASA), and Naval (NSG) units. Shulinkou was active 22 years from its establishment on February 16, 1955 until its closing on April 01, 1977.

The group was founded in 1989 by a few friends who kept in contact after their assignment to Chitose, Japan with the ASA in the late 1950's. The purpose of the group is to hold annual reunions, publish a twice a year newsletter, and help you relocate old friends. The group is a fraternal organization regardless of rank with an even mix of career types and single termers. It is governed by a 6 member board. The purpose of this site is to establish an "electronic presence" for the group on the World Wide Web. It is for ASA / INSCOM veterans of all the OPS Battalions who worked the Ops mission at U.S. Army Field Station Augsburg on Gablingen Kaserne. This group was started as a way to share stories & photos, keep in touch, and find old friends. The group spans 1970 to 1993. There's over 8 GB (over 22,000) of photos of people, Augsburg bases, Bavaria and past Augsburg reunions. Over 66,000 messages have been swapped between the 1145+ Augsburg 1st, 2nd, and 3rd OPS and Support BN veterans who have reconnected since the group started in Feb 2005.

Edmund Jones Lilly, Jr., oral history interview, April 6, 1976 and October 6, 1976
Colonel Lilly was involved in engagements with the Japanese on Luzon and was captured there when U.S. forces surrendered in 1942. He survived the Bataan death march. Between 1942 and 1945 he was a P.O.W. held in the Philippines, Formosa, Korea, and Manchuria. After the war he served in several stateside commands and in Paris before retiring in 1953. Much of this interview concerns the 1942 to 1945 period. Interviewer: Donald R. Lennon.
