"Nuclear War Could Break Out": Putin Ally Medvedev's Chilling Warning to U.S. Over Nukes in Poland
Former Russian President and deputy chairman of the Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, warned of a possible nuclear war between Russia and the US. Medvedev warned that a nuclear war could start if the "US accommodates Poland’s desire for the placement of nuclear weapons." In response to TASS, Medvedev said that "With such people in power in Warsaw, the presence of nuclear weapons in the country would mean that they would be used." On Friday, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in Brussels that "Due to the fact that Russia intends to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, we are... appealing to... NATO to [allow us] to take part in the Nuclear Sharing Programme." Russia-US nuclear war is no fantasy, says Kremlin ally
Russia has the world's largest arsenal of nuclear weapons. But from Moscow's perspective, the atomic deterrent was not enough to keep the US and its NATO allies from backing Ukraine against Russia. Dmitri Trenin, an ex-Russian intelligence colonel and former director of the Carnegie Moscow Center, speaks with Ian Bremmer on GZERO World.

Yevgeny Prigozhin and his Wagner Group’s aborted munity in Russia has demonstrated the weakness of the Kremlin in controlling the situation inside the country, which, as shown by the so-called “march for justice,” can rapidly deteriorate in a matter of hours. While moving toward Moscow on June 24, the Wagnerites came dangerously close to facilities housing nuclear weapons in Borisoglebsk …

Russia’s dangerous nuclear consensus | The Strategist
Putin’s provocative nuclear rhetoric has lately been echoed by other high-profile Russians. In a recent commentary, the honorary chair of Russia’s Council for Foreign and Defense Policy, Sergei Karaganov, made the case for pre-emptive nuclear strikes. By hitting ‘a bunch of targets in a number of countries,’ he argued, Russia could ‘bring those who have lost their mind to reason’ and ‘break the West’s will’. Even coming from a hawk like Karaganov, that is a shocking proposition. But perhaps more worrying are similarly incendiary statements from historically moderate figures. Dmitri Trenin—the former director of the Carnegie Moscow Center, who had long been considered a voice of reason in Russia—now advocates inserting the ‘nuclear bullet’ into the ‘revolver drum’. Trenin suggests that a pre-emptive strike could ‘dispel the mythology’ about NATO’s collective-defence clause and lead to the alliance’s dissolution.
