要执行第二件事(指“想要做某事”),只需要有想做的意愿就够了。但对于第一件事(指“真正专注”)则不然。为了真正地集中注意力,必须知道该如何去做。大多数情况下,人们把注意力和一种肌肉上的用力混淆了。如果对学生说:“现在你们必须专心”,就会看到他们皱起眉头、屏住呼吸、绷紧肌肉。两分钟后如果问他们刚才在注意什么,他们往往答不上来。他们什么都没有专注。他们只是收紧了肌肉。我们在学习中经常会消耗这种肌肉上的用力。由于这种用力最终让我们感到疲劳,我们便产生了一种错觉——以为自己在努力学习。那只是错觉。疲劳与真正的工作无关。
