Reminds me of Christopher Alexander’s advice to his students — aim for Chartres.

一旦我们的基本需求(食物、住所和健康)得到满足,大多数人会在三种相互冲突的欲望中徘徊:

•    归属感
•    地位
•    免于恐惧的自由(我们也许还可以加入喜悦、好奇、刺激、满足感等内在叙述,但现在我们先专注于这三点。)

归属感指的是群体认同、融入社会、被喜欢。它体现在穿对的衣服、使用正确的沙拉叉、以及在篝火旁唱着大家都熟悉的歌。

地位总是相对的。谁先吃午餐?谁处于上风,谁处于下风?而免于恐惧的自由是一种内在构建。恐惧可以被当成动力,但更多情况下人们会尽量避免它。

市场营销正是利用这三个原则,而系统也是通过这些原则来维持其结构。如果你想理解一个人的选择原因,看看他们真正想要的东西,而不仅仅是他们口头表达的替代品或表面需求。
