Participatory Economy Project
A Participatory Economy is a model for a new democratic, fair and green economic system developed as a viable alternative to capitalism. It provides a concrete description of how a modern economy of millions of people can be organised around cooperation and solidarity instead of competition and greed.
A Participatory Economy is made up of:
1. Social Ownership of our productive commons
2. Federations of self-managed worker and neighbourhood councils
3. Participatory planning, where these councils participate in a decentralised cooperative procedure to plan the allocation of resources in the economy.

This work takes time, energy, and resources—and since the system won’t fund us, we rely on community support to keep it going.
If you can give more, please do. If you can’t contribute right now, we understand—and you’re still welcome.
In April Social Good Collective Members will receive links to register early and for free for our community programming, in addition to exclusive member-only events.
Democracy 101 (A Refresher for Anyone Who Is Just Doing Their Best In This Capitalistic Hellscape)
Let’s be real—most of us learned about democracy in grade 10, and it wasn’t exactly a generous, empowering, or engaging education. It was more like: Here’s how voting works. Here’s a flowchart of government branches. Good luck out there.
But democracy isn’t just something you memorize—it’s something you participate in. And if we’re going to navigate this system (especially with a federal election coming up), we need real answers, not recycled high school social studies lectures.
So here’s the deal:
📌 We’re doing a refresher, but without the boring bullshit.
📌 You send us the democracy questions you actually have—the ones you’re too afraid to ask or never got a clear answer on.
📌 We break it down, answer your questions, and give you access to our behind-the-scenes resources.
Things We’ll Cover (Depending on What You Ask!):
✔️ How democracy actually works in Canada (not just the textbook version)
✔️ What this election means and how power really moves
✔️ Ways to engage beyond voting that actually make a difference
✔️ How to handle political conversations without losing your mind
No jargon, no condescending takes—just real talk, practical answers, and a space to learn together.

This is a community space, not a lecture—come as you are, bring your questions, and let’s figure this out together.
