The Ministry of Type
The Ministry of Type
The Ministry of Type is a site about type, typography, lettering, calligraphy and other related things that inspire me. I am a designer, illustrator and front-end developer with over 20 years experience in web, print and identity and am based on the south coast of England. I love hand-tracing and recreating old designs as vector artwork, and there are many examples of that in this site.

Your design sucks!
Your design sucks!
Everybody is a critic. Rarely do you meet a client who doesn't have a personal opinion about design. They don't like green, they want the logo bigger, the tweaks and changes are endless. In this presentation Paul discusses how to make the process of sign off less painful. From how you develop and present design concepts to coping with common complaints. You will never find the perfect client but this presentation will allow you to manage them more effectively.

Vintage GE Freezer Owners Manual
Vintage GE Freezer Owners Manual
Found this great manual in the storage compartment of a vintage model NA-11 GE Food Freezer from the mid 1940's. We got it second hand for $10 about 25 years ago and it still works silently and reliably in our garage all-year winter and summer. It may not be an energy saver but it sure is reliable and rugged. Being a big chest style it has served as a make shift work bench when needed in the garage. The 12 page manual (3-sheets) is scanned so it would be easy for anyone to 2-side print their own copy and staple bind it. - Page 1 & 12

Art in the Age
Art in the Age
Art in the Age began as an artists’ collective, rooted in the traditions of American craftsmanship. Founder Steven Grasse developed a line of spirits in that same tradition, using recipes and ingredients drawn from the history of Pennsylvania, and the Art in the Age brand was born. As the experimental arm of his spirits-focused creative agency, Quaker City Mercantile, Art in the Age has remained at the forefront of innovation in the spirits industry.
