AI will be a part of children's futures in ways we cannot fully understand. This easily accessible and powerful new technology is imperfect and yet could improve student outcomes for all children in ways that much of education technology has failed to do for the past two decades. But can it?

What can it do? What can it do well? What can it do well enough?

In which contexts and with which students can it do well enough? Through a equity-oriented K12 public school lens, come and learn why there currently is scant evidence for actual improvements to student learning, how to identify the kinds of education tasks the GPT-style AI models are more likely to struggle with, and grapple with potential unintended consequences of their use.

In seinem Blogbeitrag skizziert Joscha Falck 9 KI-Paradoxien und schreibt dazu einleitend: "Während KI-Systeme das Potenzial haben, Lernprozesse zu verbessern und Lehrkräfte zu entlasten, treten im Schulalltag paradoxe Effekte auf: Entlastung, Kompetenzen, Motivation und einige andere Bereiche stehen in einem oft widersprüchlichen Verhältnis zu den Erwartungen.

Mit Blick auf diese Widersprüche wird mir zunehmend klarer, warum es so schwierig ist, KI „in die Fläche“ zu bringen. Ob wir sie auflösen können, vermag ich derzeit nicht zu beurteilen. Möglicherweise ist es ein Teil des kollektiven Lernprozesses, mit den folgenden Paradoxien umzugehen bzw. sie zumindest auszuhalten."
