Is it because of autoimmune response due to molecular mimicry? Is it because of other viruses reactivating e.g. EBV which in turn can cause fatigue. Is it a blood flow issues to brain? Is it an infection of the brain tissue? Is it the damage to the endothelium of the blood vessels? (Difference in sex shows that the issue is more common in women which also aligns with more immune system issues in women, hence, it is possibly the immune system vs., endothelial damage.) A registry for long haulers https://youandmeregistry.com/about/ Leronlimab study https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04678830 CCR5 receptor function is to help promote immune cell chemotaxis. It is also a receptor for the HIV virus. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CCR5 What is the problem (symptoms?) More than 200 symptoms Most common are the following Fatigue Body aches Breathing issues Brain fog/Cognitive impairment (similar to myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome ME/CFS) Cough Chills Sweat Headache GIT issues References for symptoms https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2771111 https://greatist.com/health/covid-long-haulers-symptoms#what-a-day-feels-like https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.12.24.20248802v2 https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.12.24.20248802v2.full.pdf What is the tragedy? Psychosomaticizing of the problem by physicians. Outright ignoring it. Not knowing how to approach it even when they empathize with the patient’s symptoms. Harvard’s article https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/the-tragedy-of-the-post-covid-long-haulers-2020101521173 A good article to read https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2771111 How large is the problem? More than 30% of the COVID patients. Not necessarily only severe cases. UK study says about 10% Brain fog Fluvoxamine, glymphatic massage, neck and spine pumping. An important site to keep in mind for long haulers (long hauler science tracker) https://www.c19recoveryawareness.com/research Dr. Patterson and Dr. Yo paper https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.12.16.423122v1 Important points: LH can result from mild infection as well. Hence, LH is not a consequence of the severe COVID only. That means labs for severe cases cannot represent accurately the LH consequence. IL6, IL8, TNF-alpha are persistently high. They cycle. Dr. Patterson VEGF elevated in 79% of LH, burning sensation, neuropathy, numbness, tingling, weakness, brain fog. Maraviroc decreases VEGF - helping with brain fog. Plus brings RANTES and IL6 down. Triad: Ivermectin, Maraviroc, and low dose steroids are showing improvement (85%-90% are responding.) Listen to Dr. Patterson and Dr. Yo for long hauler severity index https://www.pscp.tv/w/1YqxoyWBjEBGv CD8 cell count is very low - single digits. 2-7% normal is 30%. Almost as immunosuppressed as HIV. Low CD8 count means detectable virus for 87 days 25% LHs have low CD8%. CCR5 - allows cells to reach the area of inflammation. Maybe a delta 32 deletion causes protection against severe COVID. It is for the CCR5. It is possible that lower CCR5 receptors in heterozygous patients keeps the immune response to a lower level, while homozygous people for the CCR5 receptors have a higher number of CCR5 receptors responding more to RANTES, which in turn causes an overwhelming response to SARS-COV-2. First Effective Treatment for Long Covid Stunning Data from Huge New Study - YouTube
The long tail of Covid-19 has left hundreds of thousands suffering numerous and debilitating symptoms. In this film I break down the results from my most recent study of 812 long haulers, on the efficacy of diet, supplements and medication in treating the condition and their effects on each of the symptoms. Is there now a statistically proven regimen of treatment for the condition? Yes, I believe there is. Huge thanks to Dr Tina Peers and Dr Ade Wentzel without whom none of this would have been possible. IMPORTANT: It is ESSENTIAL to talk to your doctor before taking any supplements that you have not taken before, or begin taking them at a larger dose. This regimen is NOT appropriate for children so they should speak to their doctor before taking any of these. Nicotinic acid / Niacin also has several strong counter-indications, they can be seen here: https://www.nice.org.uk/donotdo/do-no... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niacin I have to be clear and say that I am not a doctor, nor am I personally advocating you take Niacin or any other supplement or medication mentioned in this film. This is a decision you must make yourself with the consultation of your GP if you have any concerns at all. So, all that said - here is what I am currently taking. Niacin: I started at a low dose (10-20mg)/ be careful of flushing Selenium: 100mcg / day Zinc: 15-30mg / day Quercetin: 500mg 3x / day Vitamin C: 500-1000mg 3x / day Vitamin D: 3-5000iu / day 0:00 Introduction 0:49 The Treatment Plans 2:21 The Study 4:45 Treatment Efficacy 12:11 T and P Numbers 13:05 The Statistical Breakdown 16:36 Conclusion Wondering who I am and why I'm making these films? Nutrients Free Full-Text The Role of Nutrients in Prevention, Treatment and Post-Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19)
SARS-CoV-2 virus, infecting human cells via its spike protein, causes Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). COVID-19 is characterized by shortness of breath, fever, and pneumonia and is sometimes fatal. Unfortunately, to date, there is still no definite therapy to treat COVID-19. Therefore, the World Health Organization (WHO) approved only supportive care. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the need to maintain a correct intake of nutrients to support very weakened patients in overcoming disease arose. The literature available on nutrient intake for COVID-19 is mainly focused on prevention. However, the safe intake of micro- and/or macro-nutrients can be useful either for preventing infection and supporting the immune response during COVID-19, as well as in the post-acute phase, i.e., “long COVID”, that is sometimes characterized by the onset of various long lasting and disabling symptoms. The aim of this review is to focus on the role of nutrient intake during all the different phases of the disease, including prevention, the acute phase, and finally long COVID.

Vitamin C—An Adjunctive Therapy for Respiratory Infection, Sepsis and COVID-19
Vitamin C—An Adjunctive Therapy for Respiratory Infection, Sepsis and COVID-19
There are limited proven therapies for COVID-19. Vitamin C’s antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulating effects make it a potential therapeutic candidate, both for the prevention and amelioration of COVID-19 infection, and as an adjunctive therapy in the critical care of COVID-19. This literature review focuses on vitamin C deficiency in respiratory infections, including COVID-19, and the mechanisms of action in infectious disease, including support of the stress response, its role in preventing and treating colds and pneumonia, and its role in treating sepsis and COVID-19. The evidence to date indicates that oral vitamin C (2–8 g/day) may reduce the incidence and duration of respiratory infections and intravenous vitamin C (6–24 g/day) has been shown to reduce mortality, intensive care unit (ICU) and hospital stays, and time on mechanical ventilation for severe respiratory infections. Further trials are urgently warranted. Given the favourable safety profile and low cost of vitamin C, and the frequency of vitamin C deficiency in respiratory infections, it may be worthwhile testing patients’ vitamin C status and treating them accordingly with intravenous administration within ICUs and oral administration in hospitalised persons with COVID-19.

Long-term persistence of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein: evidence and implications
Long-term persistence of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein: evidence and implications
This paper discusses the recent study by Bansal et al. on the detection of spike protein in persons vaccinated with the Pfizer mRNA vaccine. The most significant finding is that spike protein is found on exosomes, that is, cell-derived vesicles, for at least four months after the second injection. This surprisingly long persistence raises the prospect of sustained inflammation within and damage to organs which

Marine Drugs Free Full-Text Effect of Fucoidan on the Mitochondrial Membrane Potential (ΔΨm) of Leukocytes from Patients with Active COVID-19
Marine Drugs Free Full-Text Effect of Fucoidan on the Mitochondrial Membrane Potential (ΔΨm) of Leukocytes from Patients with Active COVID-19
Fucoidan is a polysaccharide obtained from marine brown algae, with anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, and immune-enhancing properties, thus, fucoidan may be used as an alternative treatment (complementary to prescribed medical therapy) for COVID-19 recovery. This work aimed to determine the ex-vivo effects of treatment with fucoidan (20 µg/mL) on mitochondrial membrane potential (ΔΨm, using a cationic cyanine dye, 3,3′-dihexyloxacarbocyanine iodide (DiOC6(3)) on human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (HPBMC) isolated from healthy control (HC) subjects, COVID-19 patients (C-19), and subjects that recently recovered from COVID-19 (R1, 40 ± 13 days after infection). In addition, ex-vivo treatment with fucoidan (20 and 50 µg/mL) was evaluated on ΔΨm loss induced by carbonyl cyanide 3-chlorophenylhydrazone (CCCP, 150 µM) in HPBMC isolated from healthy subjects (H) and recovered subjects at 11 months post-COVID-19 (R2, 335 ± 20 days after infection). Data indicate that SARS-CoV-2 infection induces HPBMC loss of ΔΨm, even 11 months after infection, however, fucoidan promotes recovery of ΔΨm in PBMCs from COVID-19 recovered subjects. Therefore, fucoidan may be a potential treatment to diminish long-term sequelae from COVID-19, using mitochondria as a therapeutic target for the recovery of cellular homeostasis.
