Independent type foundry Brownfox offers a fresh perspective on Latin and Cyrillic fonts. We have a solid track record with text fonts optimised for on-screen reading, as well as with print fonts. Our work is firmly rooted in the typographic tradition, yet is unmistakably current. We aspire to create fonts of the highest degree of craftsmanship and up to the latest technical standards. The outcome that we pursue in our work – to augment familiar with something new. The most important thing for us is to find a new, bright, compelling and unique character of typefaces. One of the challenges here is to stay within the group of typefaces, called workhorses, fonts that cover a broad range of application areas. Principals: Gayaneh Bagdasaryan and Vyacheslav Kirilenko.

Miles Newlyn founded Newlyn.com in 2004 with the ambition to help creatives to achieve their vision with typographic accuracy, craftsmanship and originality. A specialist in brand typography for over 20 years, Newlyn’s work has helped audiences grasp the things they read and remember who wrote them. His logo work has put Honda, Cadillac, and Land Rover on our roads, two Olympics on our screens, and EE, 3 and Sky in our clouds. Miles is also a figurative painter and maritime enthusiast.

Klim Type Foundry (Klim) was founded by Kris Sowersby in 2005 and is based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington, Aotearoa/New Zealand. Our foundational ethos is “a thing well made”. Our typefaces combine historical knowledge with rigorous contemporary craft. We believe the alphabet is a concept made concrete through written and designed letterforms — the alphabet is not defined by a single typeface but expressed through all of them. Foster Type is the typographic work of Dave Foster, an independent designer based in Sydney, Australia. He draws typefaces and lettering for design studios, type foundries, brands and individuals around the world. A powerful visual presence is necessary for any message to survive among the noise of today. Dave specialises in giving the durability of form required for words to achieve that presence. From single letters to entire typefaces, he tailors letterforms to specific purposes.

Bold-Decisions is operated by Mads Wildgaard, and founded in 2015. The foundry is operating from Amsterdam. The initial idea of BD, is to develop typefaces that are interesting to us and allow ourselves to let them mature while keeping them close, as they are inevitably extensions of ourselves. From rainy days to sunny days, these typefaces have been worked over and over to the initial point where we’re happy to release them and see someone else make a beautiful design. They all continue to be reworked until we don’t know when, to optimize technical details, and to adapt to our own developing and fleeting aesthetic preferences.
