I am an independent type designer based in The Hague. I make logotypes, lettering, and typefaces. Within my expertise I like to solve new problems and to systemize and automate processes when needed. But also I like putting emotions into all of the work I do and find a personality in every project. I like working with people, because nothing is made in vacuum. Independent type foundry Brownfox offers a fresh perspective on Latin and Cyrillic fonts. We have a solid track record with text fonts optimised for on-screen reading, as well as with print fonts. Our work is firmly rooted in the typographic tradition, yet is unmistakably current. We aspire to create fonts of the highest degree of craftsmanship and up to the latest technical standards. The outcome that we pursue in our work – to augment familiar with something new. The most important thing for us is to find a new, bright, compelling and unique character of typefaces. Klim Type Foundry (Klim) was founded by Kris Sowersby in 2005 and is based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington, Aotearoa/New Zealand. Our foundational ethos is “a thing well made”. Our typefaces combine historical knowledge with rigorous contemporary craft. We believe the alphabet is a concept made concrete through written and designed letterforms — the alphabet is not defined by a single typeface but expressed through all of them.
