Mechanisms of Gut-Related Viral Persistence in Long COVID
McMillan et al. (2024) found viral RNA in 31% of gut biopsies from 46 IBD patients with COVID-19, suggesting that gut viral persistence in specific cells(enterochromaffin and tuft cells) may drive #LongCOVID symptoms.
