So many 'Christmas colds' circulating. I have been alive for over 64 years, and do not remember this level of illness over the holiday period, but by next year this will be considered perfectly normal and (mis)remembered as the way it always was. It's already happening this year.

Caught up with quite a few friends over Xmas (most aged under 40) and nearly all now have alcohol allergies, deteriorating eyesight, new auto-immune diseases, shingles, rotting teeth, significant flu/pneumonia after-effects, muscle degeneration or persistent heart, brain or lung…

I thought I had a winter cold - then I woke up from a coma about to lose my legs

“WHEN Beth Bugden 46, fell ill over Christmas, she assumed it was a harmless winter cold.

But she was soon left vomiting blue liquid before being rushed to hospital, where tests revealed she was suffering from flu, pneumonia, Strep A & sepsis….

…In February 2022, Beth had both legs amputated below the knee and an operation to repair the damage to her right lung.

Two months later, she had her thumb and most of her fingers removed on her right hand, as well as all of the fingertips on her left.”

THIS IS NOT NORMAL! In the past year in my social and work circles I’m seeing at least 20% of work colleagues constantly sick; 3 friends dead in their 50’s and 60’s; 31 year old friend in hospital with suspected pulmonary embolism; ⬇️

My brother is now on statins at the ripe old age of 35 after multiple Covid infections. He is too thin, if anything. Exercises regularly and eats well and we have no family history of high cholesterol, but he is now on statins for life? I’ve at least gotten him to mask while…

How are people just accepting this?”

“I’ve got a friend at the ER with a complications from stage 4 cancer that’s impacting her airway

Staff are not masking & they’ve put her on a gurney with only a curtain to protect her

This is shameful. COVID could easily end her life & airborne precautions would protect her”

There is qualitative and quantitative data on this. There is no way to worm around it.”

I've been in medicine since late 70s. I've never seen this other than sporadic bad flu seasons (which were primarily among the elderly) and the early days of HIV (if that's not disturbing).

I've been teaching at 3rd level for 30 years. I have never experienced anything like the number of students with recent-onset cardiac, gastrointestinal, and neurological issues as I have in the last couple of years, yet people in the uni keep saying post-COVID, during COVID, etc.

Several weeks ago, I posted about my 8 year-old niece who contracted Covid 4x during the last school year, and is now suffering from significant memory loss.

“If anyone tells you that we are in a better place now than in the beginning of the pandemic, it’s a lie. People are dying more in the chronic phase of Covid than in the acute stage, and those who survive, are left with chronic illnesses that may become permanent.

We must remain resilient.”

I don’t let anyone in my exercise trials if they have been infected in the last 3 months. If they’ve been hospitalized for Covid, they require a cardiac screening by a physician.

Honestly, I’ve had so much difficulty recruiting this past year that I’m beginning to think that we’re quickly reaching the point I’ve been warning about for years… Adults 35-64 have begun to lose the capacity to exercise.”

Any other NYC schools dealing with mycoplasma pneumoniae right now? 10 kids out on the same day in one class, 8 over two days in another (so far).
