AppleInsider | Despite new CPU options, Apple reportedly questioning future of Mac Pro
Despite the coming availability of a new generation of Sandy Bridge desktop CPUs suitable for advancing Apple's Mac Pro line, the company has reportedly been evaluating whether to continue to invest in furthering its full-sized workstation line beyond this year in the face of limited sales. Although the Mac maker has reportedly developed a revision to the existing Mac Pro that may or may not see the light of day, people familiar with the matter said management as far back as May of 2011 were in limbo over whether to pour any additional resources into the product line.

Google is on the verge of launching their native Gmail app, multiple sources tell me. In fact, I believe it has already been submitted to Apple for review. If it gets approved, it should be out soon. And I think it’s going to be approved.

Sean Voisen » Reverse-engineering the "breathing" LED
You might be asking: Is it really that big of a difference? Wouldn't a simple sinusoid suffice? To answer the latter question: yes. To answer the former: the difference is noticeable, but only slightly. Steve Jobs was a notorious perfectionist. I like to think that he would've cared about such things.

Apple to require sandboxing in Mac App Store apps as of March 2012 | TUAW - The Unofficial Apple Weblog
Apple sent an email to registered developers today that's bound to ruffle some feathers -- again. As of March 2012, Apple will require all apps submitted to the Mac App Store to implement sandboxing. This isn't a new development, as Apple was initially going to require sandboxing starting in November of this year. Apple has apparently delayed implementing the rule for another few months, but the requirement itself may cause challenges for some Mac developers.
