Careful with iOS 8 Private Browsing mode.... : apple
It no longer works as before (at least on my iPad). Previously when you quit private browsing it asked you if you would like to close or keep tabs. It does neither now. When you next return to private browsing mode your last (ahem) tabs viewed are still visible!
Apple sapphire crystal supplier GT Advanced files for bankruptcy | 9to5Mac
Many had expected sapphire to feature as part of the iPhone 6, but this did not materialise apparently due to low yields of the material. Details on underlying arrangements are private, but there is a possibility that Apple’s decision not to use sapphire in the new iPhones was one of the factors that caused the company to file for bankruptcy. Some investors were expecting GTAT to announce debt refinancing plans, but not to the extent of complete insolvency.
Google Nexus 6 Gets Benchmarked on Geekbench | Androidheadlines.com
So we’re looking at a pretty powerful beast here in the Nexus 6. We should find out next week, all the details of the new Nexus, as well as Android L. This morning, we saw a leak of the back of the HTC Nexus 9. Which didn’t really tell us much, but it did have the “Nexus” logo on the back of the device, which is nice to see. The Nexus 6 is said to have at least 32GB of storage. Now this could mean we’ve got 16GB and 32GB storage options again, or maybe something bigger. I’m hoping for a 64GB Nexus 6. With the QHD display, we’re going to need that extra storage for that content. How many of you are excited for the next Nexus? Let us know in the comments below.
Government Set Up A Fake Facebook Page In This Woman’s Name
The Justice Department is claiming, in a little-noticed court filing, that a federal agent had the right to impersonate a young woman online by creating a Facebook page in her name without her knowledge. Government lawyers also are defending the agent’s right to scour the woman’s seized cellphone and to post photographs — including racy pictures of her and even one of her young son and niece — to the phony social media account, which the agent was using to communicate with suspected criminals.
Google's Software Removal Tool Removes Crapware, Resets Your Browser
In most cases, you probably won't need to use this to fix a simple problem. However, if you frequently find yourself fixing a family member's computer (and they use Chrome), this tool is a handy do-it-all method of clearing out junk and starting fresh. It's no substitute for proper security software, but it can definitely help fix many problems in one fell swoop.

Gmail updates for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus displays - SlashGear
Sometimes it's the little things that make a big difference, like apps that take proper advantage of the extra screen real-estate of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, so consider it welcome news that Gmail has updated for iOS 8. The new app - with the tongue-in-cheek version number of 3.1415926 - answers the big, lingering complaint Gmail users had since the new Apple smartphones were launched, namely that the scaling was still intended for a 4-inch panel. Now, though, you get far more on your screen than you did before.
But the Koolaid-Point-driven attacks are usually started by (speculating, educated guess here, not an actual psychologist, etc) sociopaths. They’re doing it out of pure malice, “for the lulz.” And those doing it for the lulz are masters at manipulating public perception. Master trolls can build an online army out of the well-intended, by appealing to The Cause (more on that later). The very best/worst trolls can even make the non-sociopaths believe "for the lulz" is itself a noble cau
