A "conservative estimate" of iPad 2 supply going forward sees Apple taking delivery of 4 million to 4.5 million iPad units a month, totaling more than 12 million units in the second quarter of 2011, supply chain sources told DigiTimes. Upstream touch panel makers reportedly indicated that sales of the iPad 2 are running at a faster rate than the first-generation device released in April of 2010.

Twitter will get payroll tax break to stay in S.F.
The proposal would exempt companies that move to or remain in the Mid-Market and Tenderloin districts from paying the payroll tax on new employees for six years. Companies still would be on the hook for the payroll tax on existing employees. San Francisco companies with payrolls higher than $250,000 are charged a 1.5 percent business tax on employee compensation.

Google Acquires Canadian Mobile Music Company PushLife | Tricia Duryee | eMoney | AllThingsD
Google has purchased Toronto-based PushLife, which helps people easily sync their music collection stored on their PC with their mobile phones, including BlackBerry and Android devices. The software works with either iTunes or Windows Media Player. TechVibes.com is reporting that Google paid about $25 million for the three-year-old company. A Google spokesperson did not comment on the terms, but said: “We believe the team has a wealth of experience building cool mobile applications, and we think they’ll make a great addition to our mobile team.”

After the video was released, NameCheap offered to transfer accounts for $4.99 and donate $1 for each new customer to the animal-focused nonprofit. As of April 5, NameCheap says it has raised $20,433 to help African elephants. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) decried Parsons' hunt and video last week. The organization closed its account with GoDaddy and encouraged others to do the same.

Online poker companies indicted for fraud - Apr. 15, 2011
The founders of the three largest Internet poker companies have been indicted for bank fraud and money laundering, federal law enforcement officials said Friday. The United States Attorney in New York unsealed the indictment against eleven people, including the founders of PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, and Absolute Poker. In addition to charges of bank fraud and money laundering, the companies are accused of illegal gambling offenses.
