What are cyber 360s?
Last year we launched the Cyber 360 programme, which aims to support councils as they work to reduce cyber risk, by encouraging a whole-council approach to Cyber Security. They involve a multi-disciplinary team of council peers and external experts spending two or three days with a council, offering advice and support, and following up with a reflective report.
Why should I volunteer?
Volunteers are an integral part of the Cyber 360 process. They conduct the insightful conversations which enable us to see the strengths and improvements of each council.
FIRST is the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams. The idea of FIRST goes back until 1989, only one year after the CERT(r) Coordination Center was created after the infamous Internet worm. In FIRST you can donate your time in one or more areas like: standardization; special interest groups; organising events; contribute to the best practices. Through that you can acquire a range of skills for example: Threat Intelligence skills; The ability to work in a team; Leadership; Problem solving and adaptability; Communicating with stakeholders; The ability to plan and prioritise work; Time management; Report writing; Improved interpersonal skills.
