ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that affects nerve cells. This leads to muscle weakness, paralysis, and eventually death. According to "The ALS Puzzle Solved?!", there is evidence that ALS may be related to hormonal shifts and aging. As we age, there is a decrease in protective hormones such as progesterone and melatonin, which can lead to nerve damage and muscle weakness. It has also been suggested that mutations in certain individuals may play a role in the development of ALS. While the exact cause of ALS is still unknown, this information provides a potential pathway for treatment and management of the disease. It is recommended to supplement with melatonin and vitamin K2, as well as take natural B vitamins and hormones such as pregnenolone to support the body's production of progesterone. Additionally, infrared therapy has been shown to potentially increase melatonin levels, while resveratrol can help decrease toxicity in the body. #keto #ketodiet #weightloss #ketolifestyle Thanks for watching! FYI: Pain in ALS
FYI: Pain in ALS
Does ALS cause pain? The answer is yes, although in most cases it does so indirectly. From what we know at this time, the disease process in ALS only affects the nerve cells controlling strength (motor neurons) in the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. Fortunately, these nerves don’t send pain signals back up to the brain.

Basics of ventilation: Anatomy of normal breathing
Basics of ventilation: Anatomy of normal breathing
For more on the basics of ventilation, take the free BMJ Learning module: http://bit.ly/AnatomyBreathing. The COVID-19 pandemic has meant that many healthcare professionals have been redeployed to work in unfamiliar environments, such as the intensive care unit (ICU). Mechanical ventilation is a key part of treatment in intensive care, and an unfamiliarity with it led to considerable concern among many health professionals. This module aims to provide a brief introduction to mechanical ventilation, outlining the basic principles and settings that are likely to be used.
