This is an experimental tool from Google Labs, so expect that the performance may be uneven and that the tool may disappear in the future without warning.

I don't know if this is "the world's best AI PPT maker" like they claim, but the idea is interesting. Enter your text or upload a file and set some variables for the audience, tone, etc. It generates slides for you. I'm sure it needs editing and iteration like all AI tools, but this looks like it might help speed up the process of creating slides or give you some inspiration. There's a limited free plan to test it, but unfortunately I'm getting errors and can't sign up right now.

This tool can create longer video clips, not just the 5-10 seconds of many other tools. It's open source, so this link goes to the Github for the project with instructions to install it locally. For a local model, the results look very promising. Installing and running it will take some technical proficiency though.

This is another tool I'm adding to my list to test out. Give Ideogram a single reference image and then generate multiple remixed images. In the demo, I notice that the expressions don't seem to change much, so that might be a limitation. The basic character creation is free, with additional features for more precise editing on their paid subscription plan.

This is an extensive comparison of the Articulate Suite versus a new competitor, Parta. I haven't tried Parta myself, but it does seem like a tool worth reviewing, especially if you do a lot of development for mobile users. Accessibility is one big drawback with Parta, and I'm not sure it has enough power to do all of the branching and variables features I need. It's good to see what else is available though.

How to achieve character consistency
How to video from Flora about how to create images with character consistency across different scenes. This is a more time consuming and technical process involving training a LoRA (low-rank adaptation) on an initial set of images for a character. This probably works best with real people, but there may be ways to adapt this workflow for elearning with generated characters. This is more effort than I would do for most projects, but might be worth exploring if I need something higher end for a specific project.

Google Labs has an "Experiments" page with a collection of AI tools for a variety of purposes. These are very explicitly experimental and probably not ready for production environments. I also expect many of them will disappear later (this is Google, after all--look at their track record). Still, this looks like a fun site to spend some time exploring what tools can do right now.

Create animated videos with AI. Start by generating characters, which the site says will be consistent throughout your story. You can turn scripts into storyboards and customize them. Then, create videos in 30-second clips. The voice syncing doesn't look great in their demo videos, but this still might be worth experimenting with. The free plan should be enough to test it out.
