Our results indicate that SFF is a potent stimulant of macrophages and confers strong anti-inflammatory effects regardless of donor age thereby suggesting its therapeutic efficacy in lieu of FMT therapy.

TGR5 deficiency-induced anxiety and depression-like behaviors: The role of gut microbiota dysbiosis - PubMed
TGR5 deletion in mice induces anxiety and depression-like behaviors, linked to reduced 5-HT levels in serum and the hippocampus. Gut microbiota changes play a direct role in these behaviors and serotonin alterations. This implicates TGR5 and gut bacteria in mood regulation, with potential therapeuti …

FMT from HUC-MSCs-treated mice may alleviate ALI by inhibiting inflammation and reconstructing GM, additionally, we also found that the TLR4/NF-κB and Nrf2/HO-1 pathways may involve in the improvement of FMT on ALI, which offers novel insights for the functions and mechanisms of FMT from HUC-MSCs-tr …

Fecal transplant ‘not over yet’ for C. difficile despite boom in live microbiota therapies
Fecal transplant ‘not over yet’ for C. difficile despite boom in live microbiota therapies
Clostridioides difficile infection presents a unique treatment paradox for clinicians: Antibiotics are often both its cause and its cure. The broad-spectrum antibiotics doled out to treat infections also radically alter the composition of the microbiota, wiping out a significant portion of the bacterial community and upsetting the natural balance of gut flora. Without competition from healthy

VIDEO: ‘Distinctive shift’ in gut microbiota after Rebyota treatment for C. difficile
CHICAGO — In a Healio video exclusive, Ken Blount, PhD, discusses successful restoration of gut microbiota and clonal engraftment as soon as 1 week after treatment with Rebyota in those with recurrent Clostridioides difficile infection. Blount and colleagues sought to quantify and define clonal engraftment and durable microbiome compositional changes with FDA-approved Rebyota (fecal

Fecal microbe transplants: B. vulgatus genes that correlate with early colonization
Fecal microbe transplants: B. vulgatus genes that correlate with early colonization
Fecal microbe transplants from healthy donors can treat patients with recurrent Clostridium difficile infections. However, after tens of thousands transplants, little was known about which donor strains provide long-term engraftment, and which engraft early after the transplant. Most failures of fecal microbe transplantation occur in the first four weeks. Researchers have now found 19 Bacteroides vulgatus genes that were unique to three strains that show early engraftment in patients after a fecal transplant, as opposed to seven strains that did not show early engraftment.

Acquisition site-based remodelling of Clostridium perfringens- and Clostridioides difficile-related gut microbiota - PubMed
The alterations reported herein may have been influenced by C. difficile and diarrhoea acquisition site, despite C. perfringens' ability to cause alterations in microbiota due to its virulence factors. Our findings highlight the need for a holistic view of gut microbiota.
