Click here to subscribe - https://www.glutenfreesociety.org/wxrn Does gluten cause cancer? Do those with gluten sensitivity and celiac disease have an increased risk for developing this deadly disease? We will get to that shortly. First let’s dive into some statistics and facts around this deadly disease. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States, with more than 1.5 million new cases diagnosed per year. About 40% of American adults are expected to develop cancer at some point in their life. And the World Health Organization predicts cases worldwide to rise by 70% over the next 30 years. All that being said, it is estimated that 1/2 of all cancers are caused by lifestyle choices such as diet and exercise. Background: Intensive care units (ICUs) admissions due to sepsis represent 2 to 11%. Although there are well stablished  therapeutic available, it still is the major cause of death in most ICUs and the leading cause of acute kidney injury. The objective of this work was to evaluate the role of Aloe vera extract on survival rates and kidney histopathology of mice submitted to sepsis induced by cecal ligation and puncture. Methods and Findings: Twenty six mice were distributed into four groups: Sham - surgery simulation (N=5); Control - Cecal ligation and puncture was performed (N=7); Aloe - Surgery simulation and treatment with Aloe vera extract (N=7); and Sepsis + Aloe - Cecal ligation and puncture was performed followed by treatment with Aloe vera extract (N=7). The animals were observed until death. Kidneys were analysed by histopathology. Kruskall-Wallis test was used to compare the histopathological results. Survival analysis was assessed by Kaplan-Meier statistics and compared using log rank test. A significance level of 5% was adopted. The survival time ranged from 19 hours for the Control group up to 24 hours for the animals of Sepsis + Aloe group, corresponding to a survival time of 1.26 times greater (p0.05). Conclusions: Aloe vera extracts delays mortality but does not attenuate kidney injury in sepsis induced by cecal ligation and puncture in mice.

Click here to subscribe - https://www.glutenfreesociety.org/wxrn Diabetes and Your Kidneys - What Your Doctor May Never Tell You Diabetes is a disease of high glucose or high blood sugar. The second most effected organs are your kidneys. A lot of people think heart disease, but it's really kidney disease. You know, a lot of the diet, a lot of the dialysis places that you see popping up on every corner in major cities, where people are going so they can get hooked up to a machine because their own kidneys are so coated with sugar. They don't function as filters anymore. And so they have to go sit for four hours or eight hours, or however long that prescription is for. They have to get dialysis for several hours a day, or several days a week in order to continue to survive because their kidneys have been so damaged by that excess glucose. Gluten Induced Nutritional Deficiencies - YouTube
Gluten Induced Nutritional Deficiencies - YouTube
Click here to subscribe - https://www.glutenfreesociety.org/wxrn Because gluten causes gut damage, digestion and nutrient absorption are commonly hindered in those with gluten sensitivity and celiac disease. Which is why nutrient deficiencies are common. And not getting an adequate supply of certain nutrients can contribute to poor joint health, weak muscles, and pain. For starters, amino acids are the building blocks of protein. They are used to build muscles as well as collagen, which is the most abundant protein in your body. It’s found in your tendons, ligaments, cartilage, bones, skin, and blood vessels among other places. So if your body isn’t efficiently digesting and absorbing protein, joint and muscle-related problems are possible. Vitamin C is also necessary to build and repair collagen, and a deficit is common among those with gluten sensitivity. Plus, scurvy is a muscle and joint pain disease caused by a vitamin C deficiency. A study found that those with muscle pain are often deficient in selenium and zinc. And it’s suggested that selenium and zinc play a role in both reducing inflammation and preventing tissue damage. Animal studies have found that vitamin B12 may help regenerate nerves as well as prevent pain signaling in the brain. Clinical human trials have also found vitamin B12 to be an effective treatment for lower back pain and neuralgia (nerve-related pain). Omega-3 fatty acids are known to block inflammation. However, they’re not found in grains or processed foods made with them. So deficiencies are common. Calcium is a mineral responsible for muscle contractions, while magnesium is a mineral necessary for relaxing your muscles. Thus, magnesium deficiency may cause muscle cramps. In animal studies, magnesium has been shown to block pain signals. And in humans, it’s been shown to help relieve both acute and chronic pain. Finally, vitamin D plays a role in bone, muscle, and joint health. Deficiencies have been associated with inflammatory pain. And treatment with vitamin D shows promise for those with muscular pain when deficiencies are present. Discovery of biomarkers for the prognosis of chronic kidney disease -- ScienceDaily
Discovery of biomarkers for the prognosis of chronic kidney disease -- ScienceDaily
Currently, there is no effective method to predict the prognosis of chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients. Researchers have now found that measuring D-amino acids, which present only trace in human, provides prognostic information of CKD. The present discovery would facilitate CKD treatment and thus improve the prognosis of CKD, and may also lead to the further discovery of novel therapy. The potential application is not limited to kidney diseases: the disease context ranges to life style-related diseases such as diabetes mellitus and hypertension, as well as lethal diseases including cardiovascular diseases, say the investigators.

Breaking Research BCG Vaccine Reduces A1c Long-Term
The bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccine is one of the oldest vaccines in history and has been investigated as a potential treatment for type 1 diabetes by Dr. Denise Faustman and her team at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) for over a decade. A new study published today in npj Vaccines describes the long-term outcomes of BCG administration to patients with type 1 diabetes. The study enrolled 282 individuals, 52 of whom received the vaccine. The average age of type 1 diabetes duration among the cohort was 19 years. The patients were followed for over eight years, and their A1c levels were evaluated. The study reports that patients with type 1 diabetes who received just two doses of the BCG vaccine, spaced four weeks apart, achieved markedly lower A1c levels compared to the control group. This result was observed three years after the vaccine administration and continued for the next five years […]
