Why Iodine is So Essential
Why Iodine is So Essential
Iodine was known by many medical doctors in the 19th Century as an empirical remedy, a natural “heroic remedy,” a present from the science of medicine to humanity. Nobel Laureate Albert Szent Györgyi, the physician who discovered Vitamin C in 1928, commented: “When I was a medical student, iodine was a universal medicine. Nobody knew what... View Article

Magnesium Is A Must In All Medical Protocols
Almost ten years ago, Dr. Mark Hymen wrote, “I find it very funny that more doctors aren’t clued to Magnesium’s benefits because we use it in conventional medicine. But we never stop to think about why or how important it is to our general health or why it helps our bodies function better.” Magnesium is... View Article

Think you might be gluten sensitive? Take the quiz: https://www.glutenfreesociety.org/gluten-sensitivity-intolerance-self-test/ So, what can you do to support healthy histamine levels? In short, you can manage your histamine intake and release, and support DAO production by ensuring adequate levels of vitamin C. Deficiency of this vitamin has been associated with inhibited DAO activity and supplementation may provide anti-histamine support. Supplementation with Vitamin C can help ensure that you are meeting your needs. Think you might be gluten sensitive? Take the quiz: https://www.glutenfreesociety.org/gluten-sensitivity-intolerance-self-test/ Becoming deficient in iodine can cause many issues, including: - Failure to thrive, as well as growth and development issues in the brain and nervous system of infants (due to maternal iodine deficiency in utero as well as outside the womb) - Cretinism or mental retardation in young children - Decreased fertility rates in men and women - Goiter, or enlargement of the thyroid gland, leading to pressure on the larynx and vocal cords and trouble swallowing - Fatigue, brain fog, and muscle pain - Fibrocystic breast disease and extreme breast tenderness - Death Because many of these are the same symptoms associated with thyroid problems, doctors will often prescribe medication to ease these symptoms without truly getting to the root of the problem. It is best to request testing for an iodine deficiency prior to accepting medication and receiving a potentially incorrect treatment. Key Body Functions of Iodine - YouTube
Think you might be gluten sensitive? Take the quiz: https://www.glutenfreesociety.org/gluten-sensitivity-intolerance-self-test/ Iodine is critical to thyroid health. It is necessary to produce T3 and T4 which are thyroid hormones. These not only regulate growth, but they are vital for metabolism, generating energy, and communicating with DNA about how cells are supposed to grow, heal, and repair. T3 is an active thyroid hormone with three molecules of iodine, while T4 is inactive and contains four molecules. Once TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) is produced by the brain, it travels to the thyroid telling it to produce T4 and to trap more of this nutrient in the diet in order to produce T3. T3 then communicates to DNA to upregulate the metabolism. This process also requires selenium, tyrosine (an amino acid), and vitamins B2 and C. Without all of these nutrients, and without iodine, this process will not work correctly – and neither will the thyroid. However, a large amount of it can cause you to feel awake, alert, and in some cases even anxious. If taking a supplement, it’s recommended that you do it in the morning. This is preferred to taking it at night before bedtime. What a person ingests can have a significant impact on how their body functions and survives. It can be easy to get engrossed with every item consumed. However, it’s important to remember that a well-rounded diet with clean, natural foods is best. This is because it is responsible for rapid DNA and RNA production or replication. Once replicated, these are used to create new cells in the body, which is especially critical in the gut where cells reproduce every two days. It is also important in allowing the brain and nervous system to function normally. It aids in the formation of red blood cells and plays a part in the metabolism of every cell of the body through energy production and synthesis of fatty acids. It is primarily found in animal protein, which must be broken down in the stomach for adequate absorption. When someone eats meat or eggs, the hydrochloric acid, or HCL, contained in the stomach separates out the Vitamin B12. Intrinsic factor, also found in the stomach, grabs the vitamin and transports it through the small intestine to the ilium, where it will be absorbed into the body.
