Long-term persistence of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein evidence and implications – Doctors for COVID Ethics
Long-term persistence of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein evidence and implications – Doctors for COVID Ethics
This paper discusses the recent study by Bansal et al. on the detection of spike protein in persons vaccinated with the Pfizer mRNA vaccine. The most significant finding is that spike protein is found on exosomes, that is, cell-derived vesicles, for at least four months after the second injection. This surprisingly long persistence raises the prospect of sustained inflammation within and damage to organs which

Six-month low level chlorine dioxide gas inhalation toxicity study with two-week recovery period in rats Journal of Occupational Medicine and Toxicology Full Text
Six-month low level chlorine dioxide gas inhalation toxicity study with two-week recovery period in rats Journal of Occupational Medicine and Toxicology Full Text
Background Chlorine dioxide (CD) gas has a potent antimicrobial activity at extremely low concentration and may serve as a new tool for infection control occupationally as well as publicly. However, it remains unknown whether the chronic exposure of CD gas concentration effective against microbes is safe. Therefore, long-term, low concentration CD gas inhalation toxicity was studied in rats as a six-month continuous whole-body exposure followed by a two-week recovery period, so as to prove that the CD gas exposed up to 0.1 ppm (volume ratio) is judged as safe on the basis of a battery of toxicological examinations. Methods CD gas at 0.05 ppm or 0.1 ppm for 24 hours/day and 7 days/week was exposed to rats for 6 months under an unrestrained condition with free access to chow and water in a chamber so as to simulate the ordinary lifestyle in human. The control animals were exposed to air only. During the study period, the body weight as well as the food and water consumptions were recorded. After the 6-month exposure and the 2-week recovery period, animals were sacrificed and a battery of toxicological examinations, including biochemistry, hematology, necropsy, organ weights and histopathology, were performed. Results Well regulated levels of CD gas were exposed throughout the chamber over the entire study period. No CD gas-related toxicity sign was observed during the whole study period. No significant difference was observed in body weight gain, food and water consumptions, and relative organ weight. In biochemistry and hematology examinations, changes did not appear to be related to CD gas toxicity. In necropsy and histopathology, no CD gas-related toxicity was observed even in expected target respiratory organs. Conclusions CD gas up to 0.1 ppm, exceeding the level effective against microbes, exposed to whole body in rats continuously for six months was not toxic, under a condition simulating the conventional lifestyle in human.

We spend quite a bit of time talking about what we can do to protect and even enhance our brains. So much of our messaging deals with lifestyle choices like exercise, sleep, and certainly the foods that we eat. Basically, these are interventions that target the hardware, meaning the brain substance itself. Today we're going to chat with Jim Kwik. Jim has made it his life's work to actually target the software. That means, he is providing us tools that can absolutely enhance how our brains are able to do the various wonderful things that they are constantly involved in. Whether it's memory, creativity, insight, or any of the number of things that we depend upon in terms of brain functionality, Jim has created an incredible program that can really take our brains to the next level. His book is entitled, Limitless: Upgrade Your Brain, Learn Anything Faster, and Unlock Your Exceptional Life, and his program, The Limitless Model is the focus of our time together today. He will give us terrific tools for enhancing our memory. And his empowering tools make so much sense as they relate to what we choose to do on a day-to-day basis especially from the perspective of our frame of mind, and how it influences not only our brains health but our total health as well. I sure enjoyed reconnecting with Jim today. We did share a stage many years ago, so it was nice to catch up. I hope you enjoy today's program. ==== TIMESTAMPS: 0:00 Intro 3:38 Childhood Brain Trauma 8:00 What Harms our Brain Today 16:00 Advice for Parents & Homeschooling 23:22 Tips for increasing memory 46:20 Conclusion ==== AFTER A CHILDHOOD BRAIN INJURY left Jim Kwik with learning challenges, he created innovative strategies to dramatically enhance his mental performance. Nutrients Free Full-Text Physical and Dietary Intervention with Opuntia ficus-indica (Nopal) in Women with Obesity Improves Health Condition through Gut Microbiota Adjustment
Obesity is a multifactorial disease resulting in excessive accumulation of fat. Worldwide, obesity is an important public health problem, affecting a large proportion of the world population. The tender cactus Opuntia ficus-indica, commonly known in Mexico as “nopal”, is widely distributed in this country, Latin America, South Africa, and the Mediterranean area. Nopal cladodes are commonly marketed in different forms as fresh, frozen, or pre-cooked, and used as fresh green vegetable. The aim of this study was to evaluate the capability of nopal to improve the health condition of participants affected by obesity, in a physical and dietary intervention, through gut microbiota modification. These results were contrasted with the effect of nopal in the gut microbiota of normal weight participants. We describe the association among biochemical, anthropometric markers, and the gut microbiota diversity found in fecal samples of the obese and normal weight groups. The results presented in this work suggest that caloric restriction, addition of nopal to the diet and physical activity, promote changes in the gut microbiota in obese women, improving the host metabolism, as suggested by the correlation between some bacterial species with biochemical and anthropometrical parameters.

Laminaria japonica Polysaccharide Suppresses Atherosclerosis via Regulating Autophagy-Mediated Macrophage Polarization Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry
The present work aimed to explore the effect and underlying mechanism of a homogeneous Laminaria japonica polysaccharide (LJP61A) on macrophage polarization in high-fat-diet-fed LDLr–/– mice and Ox-LDL-induced macrophages. Results showed that LJP61A remarkably reduced the lesion burden in atherosclerotic mice, alleviated lipid deposition in Ox-LDL-stimulated macrophages, decreased the expression of M1 macrophage markers, and increased the expression of M2 macrophage markers, thus reducing the M1/M2 macrophage phenotype ratio. Meanwhile, the autophagic flux of macrophages was enhanced by LJP61A treatment in vitro and in vivo. 3-Methyladenine is an autophagic inhibitor. As expected, this inhibitor blocked the effects of LJP61A on macrophage polarization. SIRT1 and FoxO1 are two key upstream genes that control the autophagy behavior. We also found that LJP61A significantly up-regulated the expression of SIRT1 and FoxO1. However, these effects of LJP61A were abolished by the SIRT1 siRNA and FoxO1 inhibitor AS1842856. These results suggested that LJP61A reduced atherosclerosis in HFD-induced LDLr–/– mice via regulating autophagy-mediated macrophage polarization.
